The hotel has a few positives and some negatives. I liked the room, a junior suite with two separate sink rooms, the lobby bar, and staff. However, the breakfasts and dinners were average at best. The overriding issue was a persistent sewage odor in the toilet room, the hallways, and outdoors near the pool. Management expressed sincere concern about the stench but claimed that they could not smell it.

unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We chose to stay in a riad, thinking it would be charming. It was not. Our riad was a vertical townhouse with a nice common area but our room was tiny. The photos on the website do not show the riad guestrooms. We did not have a closet, drawers or anywhere to put our suitcases. You get one room key you cant get another. You can't get an extra towel. There was no do not disturb sign so we were woken up by housekeeping. Worst of all, we were 3 flights up with no elevator. The hotel delivered our suitcases to the bottom floor of the riad, not to our room. We carried them up and I hurt my knee. It still hurts ( I am not young). Of course we tried to change our room but it was not possible. On the positive side the pool lounges were nice and the flowers were pretty. Breakfast was good.

Let me start with the positives: - Good location - Could not fault the food for lunch and dinner - Some great members of staff, in particular the kids club Nezha and Amral and our waiters Alae Eddine and Nourdinne Negatives I had called the hotel last year to see if any renovation work was planned in April before we booked and we were told no so we booked. 3 weeks before we were due to arrive we got sent an email stating that there was renovation work being carried out and it would NOT impact our stay. We were in the Royal suite and it was directly above the restaurant being renovated so we were woken up at 8am by drilling. There was continuous drilling and noise happening throughout sometimes till 8pm so we could not enjoy the suite! They should have upgraded us to a Ryad or put us in room away from the noise. I did tell one lady at the desk that I was not happy that my daughter was being woken up by the sound of drilling and her response was "thank you" - clearly did not understand what I was saying. Breakfast is a joke. The first two days we had breakfast on the side near the temporary reception, the first morning i saw the hot food (bacon) had run out,- they do not refill. I had asked for some strawberries and they said they did not have any and then i asked for a yoghurt and a poached egg......i had to ask three times and it finally came after 30mins! We then decided to have breakfast by the pool, a completely different service, here strawberries were available but i heard the tables complain they could not get hot coffee. There was one lady making eggs, so you have to be prepared to queue for your omelette...only on our last day did they take the initiative to give her two pans so the wait time was less. However, if you do have breakfast outside be prepared for the birds to land on the pastries and cakes and have a nibble (see the pic). We were left with the same menu for lunch and dinner and it got tiresome so luckily there were many options close by to have dinner. When we had dinner near the reception we were allowed to pick from the bar menu too which was great for my daughter but when we have dinner near the pool area we were told we could not pick from the bar menu and he could not explain why. Housekeeping is hit and miss, we had to call up for small things, like extra towels (2 towels for 3 of us) or in the other room no toilet roll. Had to keep asking for water for our room everyday. There are so many other things I could pick at especially as we were paying for a suite in a 5 star hotel but I heard other guest mentioning telling the staff so I hope they start actioning on them. So in its current state I cannot recommend and definitely do not waste your money on the Royal Suite as the constructions DOES have a direct impact on the quality of your stay.

It was an amazing experience at the hotel. Although the weather wasn’t great, our kids really enjoyed their time at the Diwi Kids Club. We really appreciate how Nezha and Amel took such great care of our children
