The best food we have ever eaten in Marrakech! We went here for lunch but once we got there and looked around the grounds we wish we'd been staying here. The food itself was delicious fresh and well presenting we ate chicken to Jean, feta salad and Greek salad. The table bread was beyond delicious. We also had some pistachio ice cream and an apple tart. The apple tart was the best pudding I'd ever eat in my life. The service was faultless. Whilst a little more expensive than most other restaurants in Marrakech, it was certainly worth the extra money for the quality of the food. The cow bar itself was beautifully presented with friendly and helpful staff. Our next trip to Marrakech will see us staying here for sure do yourself a favour and book lunch there because it was wonderful.

If you’re dreaming of a Moroccan escape that blends luxury, culture, and adventure, Kasbah Tamadot in the High Atlas Mountains is pure magic. Just an hour’s drive from Marrakech, this mountain hideaway delivers sweeping views, peaceful Berber villages, and sunsets that stop you in your tracks. A Little History The kasbah began life as a private residence filled with North African antiques. In the late 1990s, Richard Branson’s mother Eve discovered the property while looking for locations to launch a hot air balloon, and insisted her son buy it. It was later transformed into a boutique hotel under his Virgin Limited Edition collection. Its name, “Tamadot,” means soft breeze in Berber—a fitting tribute to its serene mountain setting. A visit to the Eve Branson Foundation to see how the hotel supports the local community is a must. We first saw the hotel on the TV programme ‘Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby’ where Judge/Presenter Rob Rinder and chef Monica Galetti did work experience. Peter’s immediate reaction was, “I want to go there!” I mentally bookmarked it as a fitting future birthday present. Mountain Luxury, Moroccan Soul Traditional tilework, carved wood, colourful textiles, and tranquil courtyards give the kasbah its authentic charm. There’s an infinity pool overlooking the valleys, a soothing hammam at the spa, and incredible Moroccan cuisine—think fragrant tagines, fluffy couscous, and endless mint tea. Why go? Because it’s that rare place where culture, comfort, and nature come together effortlessly. The staff are amazing - every one reminds you that this is your home during your stay, then treats you like the very best houseguest. Nothing is too much trouble If Morocco is on your list, this mountain oasis deserves a top spot. 🌄✨

Owned by Richard Branson. Michelin gives it three stars (keys). At a relatively low elevation on the Marrakech side of the High Atlas Mountains and a mere 45-minute drive from the Marrakech airport. 42 “rooms.” What I have found over the years writing Tripadvisor reviews is that it is easier to write criticism than compliments. Probably it is because I am almost 70 years old and have traveled a bit. Regardless of the hotel’s superlatives, somebody else probably already did it better. The have very few criticisms of Tamadot. The most significant one is that nobody was there to greet us when our car arrived. That is unheard of at this price point. There were some minor service gaps. For example, we went back to our room after lunch on our second day and were locked out. They miscoded our key. The “key” mistake verses the “greeting” mistake illustrates an excellent point. The key mistake was just life. Somebody miscoded our key to be for one night instead of four nights. Humans make mistakes. Greeting your guests upon their arrival is table stakes in this business. The “greeting” mistake illustrates a management failure, the “key” mistake does not. Here is how the “greeting” mistake should have been handled. The doorman should have taken note that two cars had arrived simultaneously. He should then have immediately alerted the duty manager, and an all-hands-on-deck alert should have been issued. Then one of the men at the entrance should have greeted the van and one of them should have greeted our car while the reinforcements were on their way (there was more than one man greeting the van). It should not have been possible for me to carry my bags to the front desk, but I did. Don’t get me wrong, once I got inside with my bags, the staff were all over me trying to get my bags, but I am not sure they got the message that I was sending when I assured them that I did not want to inconvenience them. This was not the first time when two cars arrived at the same time, and there should be an established protocol for those events. The irony is that the staff were beside themselves about the key mistake, but not one person apologized about the lack of a greeting upon our arrival.

An incredible place. From check in to check out we were treated so well by all the teams. The food and service was incredible, our room (23) was gorgeous and the minibar was even topped up daily which we weren’t expecting! We had a hammam and massages which were amazing. The grounds were beautiful and had stunning views of the mountains and valley. A perfect 3 night stay.

Our stay was really lovely. Everyone considers service to be of high importance, and the staff will do everything possible to make you feel at home. The “tent” we stayed in was very comfortable and had a beautiful view.
