InterContinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu is perfectly located overlooking the Vieux Port, adjacent to the oldest district in Marseille, known as the Panier. The hotel is housed in a listed historical monument dating back to the 18th century and features a spectacular terrace, where you can relax while admiring the Vieux Port. Nearby the Calanques must be seen.

This is a seriously good hotel - the rooms super spacious and comfortable. The bars and restaurants are superb. We had extremely good food during our stay and loved the terrace for drinks.

We arrived in Marseille after 2 weeks of travel in France (Paris and Lyon, followed by a river cruise on the Rhone from Lyon to Arles). Ironically, we visited the Hotel Dieu - Hospices de Beaune, a similar property turned into a museum in Beaune. My love for the Europeans and their ability to preserve and transform historical locations into something beautiful that will last for many more generations is endless (think Notre Dame - which we also visited- and all the work that has gone into its delicate restoration, instead of just pronouncing it hopeless and tearing it down). This hotel is positively spectacular. When I walk into a place like this, I am overwhelmed by the architecture and history, and don’t tend to give much thought to the rest. But in this case, the rest matches its glorious beauty. The comfortable, thoughtfully appointed rooms (and I was staying in a classic room, so I can only imagine what the suites must be look like), the dining, the service, front desk, the concierge who was incredibly helpful (he arranged a boat trip to Calanques for us that day, and also gave me a brochure on the history of the hotel), the bell staff - everyone was amazing. The breakfast buffet was well worth the price. We ate dinner in the hotel as well. The location of the restaurants and bar are superb, and have a great view of Notre Dame Gard. Wonderful cocktail menu. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay another night, but we needed to return home. Loved it!

Beautiful building, charming staff and a lovely, spacious room with balcony. Indoor pool and spa was a bit confusing to get to but very enjoyable. Location is outstanding - in the heart of Le Panier district and short walk to Port Vieux. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. It was an easy 15 minute walk with bags from SNCF Charles station. Highly recommended

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the stunning setting and the beauty of the historic building. The location overlooking the Old Port is simply unbeatable, offering breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The room was spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The service throughout the hotel was attentive, professional, and welcoming. The only small downside was the absence of a dedicated club lounge experience for elite guests, which would have made the stay even more complete. Overall, a fantastic blend of luxury, comfort, and location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Marseille and would happily return.

My family had a lovely stay at the Intercontinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu. We were traveling for vacation and enjoyed the luxuries that the hotel offers. We enjoyed time in the pool and spa, and had a wonderful happy hour on the sunny patio with views that overlooked the old port. The staff was very friendly and willing to do whatever it took to ensure we were satisfied.
