Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Carton House. A very special thank you to Brian, the Head Concierge who conducted a tour of the hotel for us. He was very professional, welcoming, and shared a lot of interesting information, which made the experience even more memorable. Check in process was smooth and efficient, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Room was clean and comfortable, and the restaurant served very good food. The premises are absolutely breathtaking, perfect for a walk while enjoying the stunning views. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would love to return again.

Our visit to Carton House was, as usual an amazing experience. From the minute we walked in the doors the reception was friendly and very helpful. Ann met us, arranged our check in and ensured our short break started in a very relaxed manner. Dinner in the Morrison was just a culinary experience that is only matched in very few locations we have previously visited. Staff, quality of food and the friendly service was top notch. Beautiful decor throughout just ensured we relaxed and chilled. Overall a quality experience and Carton House remains one of our go to places for a relaxing few days with superb food experiences and fabulous staff.

great stay..staff fab...will come agian

I stayed at the hotel recently as part of a group booking and, despite raising issues during the stay, a number of service failures left us very disappointed. Before arrival, reservations couldn’t locate our booking, calls dropped, and we were given unclear information about our package. The day before arrival, I was told that Kathleen’s Kitchen only served “light food,” which led to unnecessary changes to our dinner plans. On arrival, we discovered our actual reservation was always in Kathleen’s Kitchen, and the description we were given was totally inaccurate. As a result, we didn’t receive our meal until 9:15pm. Billing was also incorrect we were charged for a meal that was included in our package and charged again for drinks we had already paid for at the bar. I later learned, having left the hotel my brother tried calling the hotel 15 times in one evening to arrange champagne to the room, and no one answered. For a property at this price point, this level of service and communication is simply not acceptable. Staff were polite and apologetic, but overall the stay didn’t reflect the standard or value expected. I hope management reviews training and internal processes, as the experience fell well below expectations.

An incredible experience from start to finish. Myself & the family were made feel like VIPs from the second we arrived. The setting is special, rooms were great, the food is incredible, but the service & welcome is what will stay with us. Despite the weather being poor, it was a fantastic stay.
