The most beautiful hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Everything about this hotel is 5 star. It is definitely the best hotel we have ever visited and plan on returning next year. The staff were all brilliant, to name a few, Stefano, Salvatore, Valentina, Manuel, Andrea- thank you so much for your excellent and friendly service all week. From the moment we arrived, we experienced nothing but luxury and the hotel is beautiful and immaculate. The rooms are large and spacious and all of the amenities are 5 star. The pool area is equipped with a swim up bar and it is possible to go to the hotel’s private beach on a free 15 minute shuttle where they provide sun beds, water and snacks. The breakfast is also really good with lots of options and table service for drinks. Thank you so much to all of the staff for making our holiday so lovely! It’s a 15 minute drive into the nearest town where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops and it gets really busy and atmospheric after 8pm. Renting a car is ideal because we were able to visit places further out such as Marsala and we even drove to Palermo for the day. The hotel spa (access included in your stay) is so modern and has so many different rooms with saunas, an ice pool, a jacuzzi and other relaxation. We both paid for a massage on our first day which was amazing! Tips: •Although the hotel provide shuttles to the beach and to Mazara del Vallo, we found it really useful to have a car. If renting a car and visiting Mazara del Vallo, Marsala and Palermo, we’d recommend using these car parks as they were cheap, secure and easy to use: Mazara del Vallo: Municipal Parking Lot Palermo: APCOA Marsala: Parcheggio Comunale •Bring mosquito repellent and bite relief because we both got bitten a few times but nothing a relief cream didn’t sort out. •Check out is 12pm but we didn’t fly until 9pm and we were able to stay and use all of the facilities and use the showers in the pool area to freshen up before leaving, no need for a late check out! •The hotel provided a few different experiences throughout the week hosted at our hotel such as wine tasting and olive oil tasting, these were all great and we were able to buy wine etc from the local vineyard at the hotel and pay a corkage charge to enjoy the wine on the hotel terrace! Get local wine where you can because it’s unmatched! Thank you so much Almar, we can’t wait to return!

Relaxing family experience at this beautiful resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We spent 2 nights with the family in June. Staff was polite and always ready to help with your requests. Rooms were clean and cozy and the beds amazingly comfortable. The wellness spa is perfectly organized and it's an amazing experience to do with a partner or a closed friend or relative. The pools are clean at all times and spacious. We were also lucky that one of the nights we stayed at the hotel a local wine company came down to give us the opportunity to test their wines by the pool. We recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back again!!!

A gem located in an abundance of nature

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We were so impressed with this beautiful hotel and it’s grounds . From butterflies , fish to frogs this hotel is an oasis for nature . The hotel was spotless and the staff were so attentive . Breakfast was delicious and there was a fabulous choice every morning . Added to this it was lovely to sit watching the butterflies flutter from flower to flower , such a peaceful and relaxing time . We had dinner on our last night in the hotel , it was presented so beautifully but we did find the dishes quite expensive . The pool area was well laid out , clean and towels were fresh every day . The small touches , beach bag , flip flops and dressing gowns added to the vibe . The spa and gym were well furnished . My partner had a massage and enjoyed the spa facilities . The rooms were stylish , spacious and clean . Thank you to the fabulous team keeping the rooms spotless and tidy . The hotel was also a fabulous base for sightseeing and we visited Mazara del Vallo , Salemi , Segesta , Castelvetranno , Partanna, Marsala , Trapani , Erice and Selinute . We also went to Funaro vineyard which we booked through the hotel . We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel . We booked so I could recuperate from recent surgery and our stay made me feel relaxed and happy . Thank you to everyone at the hotel 😊

AVOID!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my grievances to spare others from the same fate. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a broken TV screen in the corner of my room, which I discovered just before my first breakfast. This unfortunate incident led to a cut on my finger, but to their credit, the staff did respond quickly to replace the screen. However, this was just the beginning of a series of unfortunate events. During my second night, I was mercilessly attacked by mosquitoes, racking up a staggering 38 bites. No decent sleep was had for the rest of the week due to being in constant pain/itching. Despite raising this issue with the management, it took until the second to last night for them to address it. On the fifth night, we noticed a glaring flood security light shining directly onto our balcony doors, which was clearly attracting the pests. When I reported this, a junior staff member was sent to adjust the light on the roof, resulting in small puffs of smoke that raised serious fire hazard concerns. The following day, they finally delivered an anti-fly scent dispenser along with some spray and cream, but it felt like too little, too late. The bar menu was disappointingly limited, and the staff, who spoke very little English, were often inattentive and rude. The frozen drinks machine was broken throughout our stay, leaving us unable to enjoy half the cocktails on the menu. The food and beverage staff seemed to prioritize native guests, making us feel unwelcome and ignored. Getting around was another challenge. Every outing felt like a mission, and the taxi fares quickly added up. Conversations with fellow guests revealed that many shared similar frustrations about their experiences at the hotel and the ‘weekly schedule of events’ were highly disappointing. The shuttle service offered from the hotel to town only operated during hours when restaurants and shops were closed, which was utterly impractical. We had to adapt by ensuring we caught the 7:30 PM shuttle collecting those in town to drop us off, only to pay for our own taxi rides back after enjoying a decent evening out. The beach was also misrepresented in their advertising (website and social media) as “An Exclusive Sicilian glimpse,” which turned out to be a complete fabrication. We were unaware that the hotel was in the middle of a dispute over the beach premises, and instead, we were sent to a dirty, overcrowded beach on the outskirts of Lungomare Fata Morgana. The driver quickly left us there, leaving us shocked and disappointed until our collection time later that afternoon. Upon complaining back at the hotel, we were informed about the issue with the advertised lido (grants still not issued from local government) and were quickly given another option, Monnalisa Beach (including free transfers). While it was cleaner, it still fell short of the 5-star experience and exclusivity we were promised. The spa facilities were a highlight, boasting a 5-star ambiance, but the massages were a dismal 2-star experience at best—mediocre and uninspired (not to mention overpriced). To top it all off, on our last night, we were subjected to loud wedding music that vibrated through our room until 1 AM. Despite complaining multiple times, nothing was done to address the noise, and we were only told that “fireworks can be viewed from the courtyard at midnight” as some sort of compromise. This turned out to be false, as the fireworks didn’t happen until 1 AM, further disrupting our sleep. Breakfast was another letdown, with a limited variety that changed little from day to day. Any food on the menu that wasn’t part of the breakfast spread came with an extra charge, which is absurd for a supposed 5-star establishment. In summary, my stay at this hotel was marred by a series of avoidable issues, from broken amenities and a mosquito infestation to inadequate transportation options and misleading advertising. This is not a family-friendly resort, and it certainly does not meet the standards of a 5-star experience. It ruined our first-ever family holiday, and I would strongly advise potential guests to look elsewhere for a more pleasant and hassle-free experience. We were offered €100 discount from the manager to compensate for the issues we incurred, which was rather an insult and not enough.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel! The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. The highlight of our stay was definitely the SPA - it’s a must-visit if you’re here. The beach is also fantastic, clean, and well-organized. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
