Great location, near theatres and good restaurants. We were only on an overnight staycay, so didn't make use of all amenities however, it was our grand daughters 6th birthday, and she loves buffet breakfasts; this one is excellent and expansive. $50 per adult, but well worth the money. We had a "corner" room which was great; the bathroom was huge and well appointed, the room was very comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights and satisfied with the staffs and services. Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was great, and they even allowed us to do early check in at 10.30am (which was great after a red eye flight). That was expected from a Grand Hyatt standard.

This hotel despite being a 5 star hotel is so low in ranking on TripAdvisor and amongst guest reviews. I stayed here with my wife and 2 year old boy on our melbourne holiday from the 1st Aug 2026 to 9th Aug 2026. We stayed at room with the Yarra River View. Check in was seamless and we got our room 2214 upon arrival. The room was large spacious and my child was able to freely walk and play. The flooring was also well carpeted and the toilet was of marble flooring and walls. We also slept well all through the stay on the soft and comfortable bed. All things seemed well until you see more in depth into the issues that lie within. We had a standing shower, tub and a sink within the toilet. The BIG issue was the plumbing or hot water connection. When i was showering and the wife wanted to use the tap sink to wash some milk bottles, whenever she turned on the hot water tap on the sink, the hot water from the shower would automatically be cut off. I would suddenly be experiencing shots of cold water sprayed onto me from the shower spray tap. This gave me an instant jolt( mind you its winter in melbourne right now so having cold water landing in the midst of soaping or showering is not a pleasant experience. As we were on a longer term stay and since my child was already settled in the room I did not request for a room change. I DID mention this upon checkout at the reception desk on L1 to a Daphene. She was disinterested and even mocked me telling me the shower tap hot warer was on the right. Miss Daphene I am a Director Of a financial institution in Singapore. Singapore is a FIRST CLASS COUNTRY. I do not require instructions on how to turn on a shower tap. Clearly you are a disgrace to your hotel and not clearly listening to the client. And this is why this hotel fails badly.. it has zero customer service.... throughout our stay even on the 4th night rhe shower gel was not topped up. And my son has respiratory issues on medication, they did not even bother changing the bed sheets until on the 3rd night I came back to the same bed and called conceirge to relate the probs. I was informed housekeeping starts only at 9am the next morning. Whenever we came back to the hotel at the main entrance at the drive through.. i would see two guys either looking down glum faced pretending to be preoccupied with nothing or talking amongst themselves. No greetings no welcome back or good evening. The last straw came when on a rainy night I was pushing my baby in his stroller with my wife in. The guy saw us and instead offering to help lift the stroller onto the main step entrance he simply backed off and took 3 steps back. A disgrace of customer service. Prob will not be back again. Most of the hardware and heartware of this hotel just isnt right for a premium paying customer. I would gladly take my business elsewhere next time when I fly in

We have previously stayed here and chose a high room, which didn't disappoint. Awesome views and a good sized room which was spotlessly clean. The hotel location is perfect...walking distance to everything. Some loud noise from the room above us was annoying however. World of Hyatt membership was not acknowledged at check-in, or at any other time during our stay. I would still recommend this hotel for a stay in Melbourne.

A wonderful Melbourne hotel, amongst the very best of the many 5-Star hotels we have had the privilege of staying in. Exceptional service, always with a smile from every staff member. Breakfast buffet at Collins Kitchen right at the top of any buffet we have ever experienced. Great location close to shops, cafes, and the theatre district. Very highly recommended.
