A modern luxury hotel in a prime riverside location. The lobby’s signature fragrance is divine, the guest rooms are spacious and spotless, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive. We loved the king pillows!!

I used to be one of the most ardent fans of The Langham Melbourne. I celebrated my 21st there and recently spent two nights there for my 40th. I honestly have to say the place isn't the same any more and it breaks my heart more than it should to say that about a multinational luxury hotel chain. The Langham used to be a wonderful balance of luxury and welcome. It didn't matter if you owned a private jet or if you rocked up in a beat up old Datsun Bluebird (as I did at my 21st). They took you as you were and treated every guest as a friend. But more than that, the service was luxury level. Every staff member was so well-trained and was able to help you with any kind of query. Now, it feels as though the staff aren't getting the same level of support and training. The service feels like what you would expect at any old generic hotel chain. It's not bad, but it's no longer luxury. It's no longer about anticipating your needs, it's just about meeting the bar. The hotel itself is looking tired. The furniture is worn, torn, chipped and dinted. The rooms are feeling less luxurious and more dilapidated, particularly the bathrooms. They're making cuts to the amenities kits, mini bar, etc. And all of it keeps stripping away from the experience of 'spoiling yourself' and feels more like a functional hotel you booked just because you needed somewhere to stay. I'm honestly sad to see the Langham go downhill like this. It was one of my favourite places in Melbourne for a special occasion, for a bit of indulgence when the world felt a bit too grim. And now it's just another reminder that businesses are tightening their belts everywhere while prices are still going up.

Lovely hotel, from check in to check out 2 nights later. The Langham Club on level 24 is a quiet, relaxing space with very attentive staff. You can enjoy the service, food (afternoon tea a treat ) drinks and the views overlooking the river as it meanders past. Our room a corner suite on the 20th floor spacious and comfortable. A very enjoyable stay.
