Reviews for The Langham, Melbourne

I didn't realise I reserved the "assemble your own bathroom" option

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I returned to my room on the second night stay, and found a repair slip above the mini bar. The slip indicated that the shower was leaking. I didn't report this so I assume that it was housekeeping. Our of curiosity, I went to check on the shower. I can confirm it was not leaking. However the shower tap was also no longer assembled. I had to rush to an online meeting and it was several hours before it could be repaired. While in my meeting, I noticed that the room had been interfered with, my belongings moved and it appeared that the bed had been laid on. I was offered free breakfast as compensation (as a business traveller, I was not paying for breakfast anyway). I've stayed at the hotel more than a dozen times in the last year. This may well be my last and I'd counsel others to be wary.

Great service throughout the stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

From the outset, the service is fantastic. From Brett at the door, to reception and concierge, the welcome is terrific and the personal touches very thoughtful. The breakfast is outstanding and the staff there including Hannah look after you well. Club rooms are great value, and you are well looked after by Mikhail, Alvio, Meg, Laerke, Kina and others on level 24. View from the room is superb and the spa facilities a great way to unwind from a busy day.

Fabulous stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Everything was seamless, the check in process was quick and easy. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, we had a king river view room, the view of city and the river was lovely. The only issue with the room was the power points were not in convenient locations but that was certainly a small thing. The buffet breakfast had so many options and the staff were attentive, it was a great start to each day. The hotel was in a perfect location, it was only a short walk across the bridge to Flinders Street station and a short stroll to the arts precinct and botanic Gardens. Would definitely recommend.
