My wife and I booked in for 4 nights, from Sydney. I am a member of Langham Brilliant, but on this occasion, I booked with Booking.com. Though I wasn't entitled to member's rate for the room, I was able to obtain a 10 percent discount for the food and drink (not breakfast or room service). It was a great help, as we ate most of our meals at the hotel. I booked the spectacular Deluxe, River, Corner, King Room and we were provided with a room on the 16th floor, facing north & east. It was the sun filled room that we had hoped for, looking at the whole CBD and a good portion of the river, from Southbank. It was easy walking the National Gallery of Victoria and the Gallery's annex in Federation Square, with both exhibitions a delight. The room was 38 sq.m. and compact, though spacious around the bed and lounge area. The room was kept super clean throughout our stay. There weren't any evening turn downs offered and we didn't get one during our stay. Incidentals in the room, including the selections in the minibar, the soaps in the bathroom, the rain showerhead, the ironing board and iron, the safe, the robes and slippers were all up to the highest standard. All staff we encountered were warm, friendly and helpful, i.e. best practice customer service. Standout staff were Sam & Polly at the Aria Lounge; their boss, Meghana, who oversaw all the goings on, at all hours and super efficient and friendly; Gunter at 'front of house', on a cold and windy night. Breakfast staff were mostly very attentive though some looked bored. Managers were super efficient and getting things sorted during the busiest times. There was a good selection of food available, some international cuisine and plenty of sweet items as well, and always well stocked no matter the hour. Due to a minor accident before we left home, my wife had a bandaged leg and that meant no baths or swims for her, during our stay. Summing up, the room was great, the staff were great, the food was great, the location was centrally located and the views were great. A stay at this impressive luxury hotel is very highly recommended,

On October 8, 2025, my credit card was charged $99.76 ($98 + $1.76 surcharge) for a breakfast at Melba restaurant (Check #1154, Table 90, Room #1720) that my wife and I didn’t consume. We ate at Café Andiamo, 1.5 km away, at 9:18 AM, as proven by our credit card receipt, making it impossible to have dined at Melba at 9:04 AM. I emailed the hotel on October 10 after receiving the invoice, but got no update. On a call I made on October 13, 2025, at 9:00 PM Melbourne time, Manager Kim at the reception desk claimed security footage showed me with a “friend,” which was inaccurate—I was with my wife at Café Andiamo around that time. I’ve requested a refund and clarification on the footage. The hotel has assured a refund, which I’m awaiting, and I’ll update when it’s processed. This billing error and lack of prompt response were frustrating, requiring hours of emails and calls to resolve. I’m posting this to warn others: check your hotel bill daily and keep receipts for meals elsewhere to dispute errors quickly. The Langham, Melbourne needs better billing oversight to avoid such hassles.
