Plush Living

We booked our annual two night Christmas staycation through luxury escapes which included club lounge privileges and late check-out and room credits. We were greeted by the lovely Stephanine who informed us that we had been upgraded to a Panaramic Suite, which we were most grateful. The Club lounge was the best it has been in all our visits over the years. The team Danny, James, Trang, Alessandra and another couple of ladies were all amazingly friendly and attentative. Food was again improved and promptly replenished. Our room was spotless and the view down the yarra was spectacular both day and night. The bathroom amentities smelt great. The Happy sleep menu offers complimentry supper which included a warm oatmeal which was enormous and delicious. Just annoyed I didn't discover this on our first night stay and yes sleep quality was achieved. My partner and I agreed this was the best stay we have had over the years. In saying that the others were good. I belive this group of staff members were truly part of this decision and an asset to the Pan Pacific brand.Looking forward to our next stay.

Perfect location

We have been staying 4 days in this hotel. We've got a nice spacious corner suite. The view to the Yarra river is spectacular! We enjoyed the club lounge with a beautiful spacious interior. Overall e very enjoyable stay.

There are many things worth raving about: The location’s great, as you’re within walking distance of many places of interest as well as a tram stop within the free tram zone. As always the staff were, without exception, both friendly and professional. My pre-stay confirmation email was answered promptly and all my requests were granted. As a GHA Discovery Titanium member, I was given an early check in and late checkout (even though they were very busy) and good welcome amenities: sparkling wine, sweet yummies and a bowl of fruit. I was also generously upgraded to a Yarra Suite, which is very comfortably furnished, has lots of storage space and offers magnificent views of the fabulous city skyline, the Yarra River and beyond. Although, sadly, the Pacific Club Lounge was closed temporarily, part of the large, comfy restaurant was blocked off as a substitute. In the evening there was the usual fine selection of hot and cold canapes plus a good choice of beer and wine etc. Buffet breakfast, in the restaurant, is excellent with a great variety of offerings to suit all tastes,

Great views but overpriced and run down.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We booked two Yarra Suites and were told at check-in that one had been upgraded to a Panoramic Suite. I still have no idea if that’s actually an upgrade. The Yarra Suite has a far better living space, while the Panoramic has nicer views and a better bedroom. The problem is the living room in the Panoramic Suite is small and awkwardly laid out, and it’s not a space you want to spend any time in. The views were great and the service during our stay was decent, but the hotel itself is extremely run down. There were stains on the furniture, dust everywhere, and even loose electrical wiring. For a room that supposedly goes for $895 a night, it’s pretty unacceptable. The lounge was also disappointing, especially compared to the Accor lounges we’re used to. The breakfast food was always cold, and one morning they even ran out of eggs. The buffet downstairs was far better. After using express checkout, I got an invoice showing a $197.25 charge for guest laundry—even though we never used any laundry service. We also accidentally left some expensive, hard-to-replace electronics in the room. I’ve tried contacting the hotel about both issues and still haven’t heard anything back. Would not recommend.

Great rooms but cold breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The rooms are very luxurious and the position is great. The gym is also nice. 2 issues: 1. The breakfast ingredients are top quality but the "hot" buffet is cold. The lamps supposedly heating it just don't work. 2. We care about the planet. Each time we leave the room we carefully turn out all the lights. Each time we come back every single light has been turned back on - don't they care?
