Stayed here end of September with my family. We had a great time, loved the pool and facilities. Room was also very clean Thanks to lady at reception, Shanelka for her friendliness, it made a great start to our time in Melbourne.

We booked the Stamford Plaza because it was near to Her Majesty Theatre where were going to see MJ the Musical. It was also our Wedding Anniversary. I will start with the positive because there were many. 1. Got in our room with a lovely card and cake wishing us for our anniversary. A lovely surprise and gesture 2. All staff interaction was very pleasant and wanting to help 3. Room lovely and big with a lounge room, shower lovely and bed comfortable. Now the not so good. Upon check in we were advised the room not ready which was no problem we had checked in about 1.30pm so thought would not wait that long. After 1 hr went to the desk to check how it was getting on was told the room was ready, so had i not gone and checked would anyone had told us? Asked about breakfast, apparently if we had booked direct and not through Luxury escapes or any other 3rd Party the breakfast would have been $25 but because we booked through travel agent it would be $37....... WTF!!! Seriously!! Went and had an early dinner because of going to the show in Harry the on-premises restaurant. Again, staff very pleasant but the food for the money was horrible. I ordered the wonton soup, and it came cold and bland no taste whatsoever. It was a cold night, and the restaurant was colder then outside I had to get my husband to get my coat. The actual hotel is located in a great area for everything so if I need to go to a theatre etc would use it again.
