Cosmopolitan and vibrant, rich with cultural and leisure opportunities, Melbourne is one of Australia's finest cities. With a distinguished address in the "Paris" area of Collins Street, famed for shopping, theatres and stunning architecture, Stamford Plaza Melbourne is an elegant home away from home in the heart of the city. Completely refurbished in 2001, a stay at this all suite, five-star hotel is complemented by the culinary delights of Harry's Restaurant and the indulgences of a rooftop swimming pool and a spa.

Having read some of the reviews prior to our stay, I was a little wary but we had a great stay. We couldn't fault any part of it, staff were exceptional, rooms (2 bedroom apartments) were exactly what we required, clean, roomy, 2 x ensuites etc. Best of all was the location which was close to many dining & entertainment options.

Excellent accommodation, felt really luxurious and very central to shopping, great restaurants and bars. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience

average and very expensive compared with its competitors. The night before I was at the Pullman about 10 minutes walk away- a big mistake to leave there. Very poor check-in service, modelled on Fawlty Towers. Regina at the breakfast was the opposite- lovely and everything you expect from a high-end hotel

The Stamford Plaza’s glory days were probably a couple of decades ago but it’s well maintained and the bed, pillows and curtains were excellent - topped off by lovely staff and a generous included breakfast. The suites are spacious - admittedly I had a free upgrade to king suite

Aweful hotel. Dark, depressing hotel. Shame as the location was great but the place need to be pulled down or fully refurbished.
