W Melbourne with its rebellious Flinders Lane address takes its design cues from the streets of Australia's cultural capital, holding the back-lane entrance keys to what's new/next in the city CBD. Revealing a playground where the early risers to the late-night revellers can turn up the tracks. Extending the laneway culture in, 294 bold hotel rooms and suites peel back the layers and revel in the city's history.

I booked the hotel using Chase points and could not be happier with the choice. The hotel is in the perfect location, with a tram, buses, train, everything, all within like a 5 minute walk. The CBD has so many shopping and dining options and it’s a 15 min walk away. The Yarra River with all its restaurants and things to do is right there. The Botanical Gardens, clubs, everything. And if you don’t want to leave the hotel, there is enough to do within. The gym is great with an excellent mix of weights and cardio. The pool upstairs is such a vibe. The staff are top notch. All in all one of the best stays I’ve had.

The people at the W were incredibly helpful with our needs. The room was gorgeous and all facilities were clean and well equipped. Will definitely stay here again!

Comfortable beds, attentive staff and helpful concierge. The urban art inside and in the pool area is interesting. The food at Loll restaurant for dinner was excellent as was the service. Room service was quick and easy. The only downside was that breakfaat is billed at a flat rate of $52 per person. No difference if you prefer a continental breakfast.

Great stay--nice location relative to downtown and shopping. Also a convenient spot if attending the F1 race (easy to catch public transport to the race venue). Hotel restaurant excellent--very nice breakfast spread. We will be back! (Concierges also top notch--handled multiple dinner reservations for our group.). Only compliant would be that the lighting in the rooms, while 'trendy', makes the rooms a bit dark. Note that other reviewers comment on this as well--not a problem per se, but an annoyance at times.

Very memorable birthday celebration in W Melbourne, I would say the standards for W hotels internationally, is pretty consistent. Customer service was pretty good but not the best yet compared to Westin Melbourne. (At the check in counter)
