We stayed for 4 nights. The room was great , ok size good quality matrace .service was fine, helpful. Car parking was quite expensive but was fine as I don't need to do much. The hotel was part of a big complex with around 15 minutes walk to the city centre. The swimming pool was small but there was an amazing view over the city.gym fabulous.

Where to start? It's a 5* hotel set adjacent to a mall with a casino. No problem with that. Upon arrival, there was no one to assist with the bags. We queued to check in and were informed that the housekeeping is provided from day three of our visit for "environmental" concerns. Letter attached. However the dated room isn't geared up for survival for 3 days. Minimal tea bags, no coffee maker but coffee bags, two bath towels, two hand towels, two toilet rolls ... utter minimum provision for a sodding 3* hotel, let alone a 5*. No Biscuits even. The room: no usb points. Minimal plug points. Bathroom lacks privacy with just roll screens to close off some of the open areas. Really not a bathroom. See photos. We paid a higher level on the cricket package as we badly wanted a pool. The hotel pool looks fabulous- pity it is currently employed as a creche with loud booming music belting out and more towels being consumed than I have seen in my life. Some environmental concerns there! Staff are friendly. But this place is SO badly run. Having had our "service room" light on all day, we came back to an unserviced room (we left at 10am and time now is 5:45pm) I rang to ask for fresh towels, tea and coffee. It arrived promptly (within 15mins received our request). Then 2 mins later, another offering of the same requested items arrived at the door. Communication issues? See pictures. Lovely staff. Poorly run hotel and we check out tomorrow and I can't wait to leave. How sad is that?

You pay for the experience at hotels and you have pretty high expectations because of how much Crown costs. The pool for some stupid reason was closed during our visit. Whilst they informed us prior they didn’t discount our stay, offer breakfast or anything, they just advised everyone to use the towers or promenade pools…what a shocker…these pools were packed to capacity and they didn’t have more deck chairs out to accomodate the extra people so we didn’t get to swim. I actually felt for the towers people who pay a premium for these services. Who closes a pool in SUMMER. Other things, no soap in the showers, dirty bed and manky floors in desperate need of a steam clean 100% won’t be coming back to Metropol again.

Worst check in experience ever. Queues were out the door, regardless of online or physical check in options. Severely understaffed and lack of capability. No visible management or leadership available. Called to get assistance with parking and the call was disconnected without actually transferring me. Completely underwhelming arrival

My wife and I stayed one night at Crown Metropol as part of our wedding anniversary. I paid a little extra for a higher floor room for the views of Melbourne. This is the second time we have stayed at the Metropol and definitely cannot fault it for location and cleanliness. On check in, we were advised that we had been upgraded to the ‘loft’ on the 21st floor. We were very pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. It was huge! We had a seperate TV lounge and tea making area which also had a powder room adjacent to it. The bedroom had a king size bed, plenty of storage and a large wall mounted TV. The main bathroom had a large bath spa with another wall mounted TV. There were two seperate basins, a huge shower and toilet area. The views from our room was amazing, with 270 degree views of Port Phillip Bay, the City of Melbourne and the Yarra River. Overall, the accommodation and facilities were superb. We will definitely be returning at some stage.
