The rooms are looking dated. No complimentary water in the rooms. The shower head is a cheap water saver. The ice machine in the hallway barely works. We called room service for a bucket of ice only to be re-directed to the ice machine on our floor. Once I explained it didn’t work they agreed to bring an ice bucket up to the room. Twice we rang room service and were on hold for at least 3-5 minutes both times trying to get through. For the price of the room per night you would expect better. Little things like a magnified mirror in the bathroom or a personal greeting on the tv screen all seem to be a thing of the past. It’s a shame that a once 5 star hotel has let itself go and yet seems to cost more per night. I’m not sure that I would come back for the price.

I am happy to share my experience of my recent visit last week to Crown Metropol. At check in I was given a major upgrade to a Suite. The Front Desk Manager, Casey wrote a lovely card thanking me for my loyalty.. Her 5***** service levels never ceases to amaze me and she remains a true crefit to Crown Hotels. Yours always Paul Dewar

I just spent 3 nights in one of the luxe double rooms with our three kids. After staying at other accomodations in Melbourne I hands down have found this to be the best. Check in was a breeze, opting for the valet parking the team then were able to make sure our luggage was brought up shortly after arriving. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of ammenities and space for the kids to move around room. While the room was a little outdated it was still very comfortable. The pool was a huge hit with our kids spending many hours in it over the 3 days. With a snack bar at the reception I was also able to enjoy a wine while supervising. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We only opted for one morning at Mr Hive for breakfast. It had a an extensive range that catered for all tastes. The walk way that connects to the rest of the crown was super handy with young kids as it meant we were able to access restaurants and activities without having to navigate young people across roads. Always plenty of choice with food even if it was just something from the food court. Overall we loved our stay and will be back again.

Room was fantastic. Clean and spacious. Bathroom large. King bed great. Pillows on the soft side. Great location in Melbourne, close to all shops and restaurants. Staff attentive and courteous. Pool though was overtaken by kids mid afternoon. Go back after 8pm for adults only a lot quieter.

We stayed for 4 nights. The room was great , ok size good quality matrace .service was fine, helpful. Car parking was quite expensive but was fine as I don't need to do much. The hotel was part of a big complex with around 15 minutes walk to the city centre. The swimming pool was small but there was an amazing view over the city.gym fabulous.
