Park Hyatt Melbourne

I had a wonderful experience at Park Hyatt Melbourne. From the moment I arrived, the staff gave me a warm welcome and kindly helped unload my luggage from the Uber. The receptionist graciously assisted with my early check-in at 11:30 a.m. and sent me a text about one hours later when my room was ready. What impressed me most was that all of my luggage had already been delivered to my room by the time I arrived. The staff’s thoughtful attention, professionalism, and exceptional service made me feel genuinely welcomed and very well cared for.

Pros: Outstanding breakfast service and spa and fitness facilities. Great location. Charlie the cute labrador. Cons: Two odd things happened during our stay. 1. We were expected to signal for the daily room service via the ‘make up my room’ button but were not instructed at check/in. This is unusual and not my experience in any other hotels. 2. Our room was accessed by key card by other guests. I was in the room and not indisposed but consider this a serious breach of safety and security and one of the most basic requirements. While both things were rectified (room cleaned and keys updated) these experiences are well below expectations for a Hyatt property and not our experience at their other properties overseas - puzzling.

Still my favourite hotel, after all these years. The hotel is wonderful, the location is peaceful, the size of the rooms are exceptional compared with the dull boxes you experience elsewhere and the attention to detail and customer service never fail to impress me.

We only needed to stay for one night, so our experience with the hotel was limited, but it was great. Admittedly, we were upgraded to a suite (a perk of the program we booked under), so that made the experience even nicer. The layout of the room was ingenious with the closet and bathroom combined into a single space that you could enter from either the bedroom or the sitting room. I did take advantage of the sitting room as I woke up much too early. Food in the lobby restaurant was good, and the restaurant where breakfast was served was amazing. The service was good in both places. We did get to meet Charlie, the GM's yellow lab. He is very food motivated, but super sweet. The GM engaged with us as we left the lobby restaurant and, in the morning, as we left the hotel. He was exceptionally nice!! If you have the time, look around at the amazing amount of art in the two-level lobby; quite spectacular.

Impeccable facilities and service. Best buffet breakfast I've had. Our stay was made seamless by attentive staff. The room was exquisite, always clean with high quality detail.
