Poor Front Desk Handling & Inconsistent Policy

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel due to poor communication and unprofessional handling by the front desk. I made two separate bookings because I initially missed one day. Before check-in, I clearly explained this to the hotel and double-confirmed that we could stay in the same room for both bookings without changing rooms. I also informed them that I would be leaving partway through the stay, while my friend would remain until the final checkout. The reception confirmed this arrangement was acceptable. However, when the second booking started, my friend was aggressively asked to leave the room by reception. They suddenly demanded a new deposit, insisting the original USD 150 deposit would be returned and replaced with a new USD 50 deposit. This made no sense, especially since we were staying in the same room and the arrangement had already been confirmed in advance. My friend explained that this had been notified and approved before check-in, but staff refused to acknowledge it. They also refused to reuse the existing deposit and would not accept my credit card details over the phone, even though this situation resulted from their earlier confirmation. The way my friend was treated was unprofessional, stressful, and unnecessarily confrontational. This issue could have been handled easily if the hotel had honored what was agreed beforehand. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly for guests with multiple bookings or shared stays. Clear communication was met with inconsistent policies and poor service.

We Loved It

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We only got to stay at the Graceland guesthouse for one night, but we wished we could’ve included a couple more nights. Right when you walk in, you are greeted with beautiful decorations and friendly staff. The room was very nice with comfortable beds, a big bathroom, and it was very clean. There are restaurants in the hotel that have good food. We also got to watch the 7 o’clock movie (Viva Las Vegas) and enjoyed the free peanut butter sandwich at 9 o’clock. The bar was also very nice with live music, stylish decor, and friendly bartenders. This hotel is across the street from the Graceland exhibits and next-door to the actual Graceland house. It was about 10 to 15 minutes away from downtown Memphis.

The Guest House is no Heartbreak Hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Guest House at Graceland is the perfect place to stay on your next trip to see The King and his castle. The hotel staff was always cheerful and helpful, especially Anthony at the information desk and John the valet, both are a wealth of knowledge with getting around Graceland and the museums as well as local dining options. Plus nightly music and Elvis movies helps end your day, and don't forget to get your PB&J and milk before turning in.

Great trip for couples

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We arrived early and our room was ready so we checked in. Room was Elvis themed which was cool. Shower was huge. Everything was clean. Bus left every 30 minutes for Graceland which was very convenient. Great stay. We didn’t the Graceland experience package and it included everything from the room to touring all of Graceland and the museums. They also had a pB and J bar which I had never seen anywhere else.
