Hu. Hotel

Initial impression upon entering the hotel, I was a smidge concerned. The hotel was clean, but severely outdated. The STAFF; however, were amazing. Very professional, friendly, inviting, and accommodating. Ebony was exceptionally excellent, but everyone was kind and helpful. Never judge a book by it's cover. Even with the elevators being weird and my best friend eventually being stuck in the lobby for hours because they stopped working, it's the people who created the atmosphere and life of the hotel. Above and beyond is an understatement. If I ever come back to Memphis, it'll be here. Thank you, Ebony and the Hu team for making this a good trip. You all showed out.

Staying on the 13th floor and the elevators are constantly not working! My pay was not worth the price I paid. I stayed at this hotel last spring and it met every expectation. I’m disappointed in the service and accommodations.

Good location, amazing view of the Mississippi River from the roof top, which also has a bar. Convenient/secure parking next door, at a reasonable rate. We booked the Hu for these reasons, to be able to visit Graceland and Beale St.. Breakfast was pretty good, we booked a deal which included breakfast each day, and one free cocktail per person. Generally was a good stay, but disappointed with a couple of points of customer service. I have raised these separately with a lady called Cynthia. However, one of these remain unaddressed. I had commented on the massive, automatically applied service charge (20%) in the roof top bar. What had annoyed us most about that, is the server stopped making our drinks, mid drink, to receive and hand out take-out food to (apparent) staff members. That is not good customer service, and meant we refused to buy any more drinks from the bar. You can go to the roof top, without using the bar, and it really is worth it. We were watching a storm roll by one night, everyone trying to get lightening pics.

Not expecting much, I went to the rooftop bar and was greeted by Gena. She was fun. She was fabulous and she gave us some really good recommendations on places to visit and eat. She was very welcoming and took care us. The views at the Roof top bar has the most spectacular views! Be sure to ask for Gena when you visit the hotel. She's all southern, and all charm.

Everything was amazing, Eboni was the sweetest and most accommodating front desk staff! The rooms were clean, spacious and the view was astonishing. As a Memphis native I had never seen Memphis like that and it was beautiful honestly. The cutest gem and the rooftop bar was the cherry on top
