Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

This was a good place to stay for a first time visitor to the city. It had a good, close to the center of the city location. The city is not very big, but being in a central location was good for traveling to different parts of the city. All of the staff I encountered were nice and professional at all times. While I was there they offered transportation services to and from the merida airport for a fee. The room I stayed in was quite large and well maintained. At times the air conditioning worked a little too well and the room would be freezing, but given how hot the weather was outside, that is a good complaint to have. The area around the hotel appeared to be safe to me and I was fine walking around.

We had an amazing long stay at Hyatt Regency Mérida during our surrogacy journey and could not have asked for a better experience for our growing family. The hotel felt very safe and secure, which gave us great peace of mind while traveling with a newborn. The location was also very convenient — Walmart is nearby for quick baby and daily essentials. Breakfast every morning was excellent, and we highly recommend getting Club Access if available. It added so much comfort and convenience during our extended stay. What truly made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. They even prepared a beautiful welcome celebration for our baby, which meant so much to our family and made this milestone even more memorable. Another unique experience we highly recommend is La Petite Chef located inside the hotel. It was such a fun and memorable dining experience, and surprisingly very reasonably priced compared to similar experiences in the United States. A heartfelt thank you to Sergio and the entire Hyatt Regency Mérida team for making us feel at home during such an important chapter in our lives. Highly recommended for families, long stays, and anyone looking for warm hospitality in Mérida.

A hotel located in the city center helped us find places to visit near the hotel. The reception staff was very friendly, but I must give special recognition to the receptionist, Melissa (I think her name was), for the excellent service and attention she gave me! I will definitely return for this reason and will recommend it to my friends. It was a trip that was completely worthwhile. I've mostly stayed at Hiltons, but this experience will make me switch to Hyatt. The breakfast was a bit basic, but it was okay! I hope to return.
