Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

The hotel was clean, the linen was soft and the staff was attentive. Hyatt is close to many restaurants and coffee shops. Room was clean and the bar has complimentary pretzels and spiced nuts. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Lastly, I don't like that trip advisor makes you write more than you want to. Makes a person not want to leave a review.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel. We stayed in a club room on the 15th floor. The hotel was in good condition and spacious. The staff was very helpful and spoke English well. The included buffet breakfast was excellent with many choices. We also went to the Regency lounge for the included happy hour which had a lot of food, enough in fact to have a dinner every night. The room was clean and spacious. However, the one big problem was the hot water. There was no hot water at all during our first shower. Someone came to fix it, and eventually it worked. However, it remained inconsistent and lukewarm for the rest of the stay. I have read several reviews about this, so there appears to be a general problem with hot water, at least on this floor.

Attended a wedding and had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The location is ideal and central for walking and visiting restaurants. The staff was friendly and room on the 18th floor was spacious. The access to the club was pleasant and had good offerings. The restaurants on site were very good and had Yucatan dishes. The only down side was during the 5-day stay 1 of the 3 elevators were down for maintenance...overall though a pleasant stay

The Hyatt in Merida is where I always stay at when in Merida. It's walking distance to downtown, restaurants and Calle Montejo. The rooms are great, the dining is great, especially breakfast. The staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for family or business
