Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

I usually don't like to make complains. However, it was a really bad surprise, to be honest. The door had a gap from the floor, so we could hear everything outside of our bedroom (people entering the gym, going to the swimming pool, etc.). Furthermore, everyday there was construction works in our floor starting at 9am. After that, we could sleep anymore. In our last day we ask the reception if they could postpone the works for 1h so we could sleep and was told that it wasn't possible. In addition, we were waken up twice by the cleaning lady at 8:30am. In our first day, she actually openned the door of our room. Since then we left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, but it was taken off by the cleaning lady on the 2nd day and never replaced (we stayed in the hotel for 6 days). On our last day we were woked up at 8h30 am again.

Wonderful four night stay that started with a pleasurable check-in experience with Alejandra (see photo). Large, welcoming lobby area with a nice bar, tucked off in the corner and a very accessible restaurant. The best buffet breakfast I have had in 10 or more years. Absolutely phenomenal breakfast, with an egg/omelette bar, 5 to 10 hot dishes, all kinds of fruit, all kinds of meat and cheeses, juice, coffee, a truly amazing set up. Club level and club level benefits were excellent. Basically, you could eat dinner at the club level/membership if desired to do so. And, great service. Good size room with a nice view (although windows need cleaning). Good size bathroom with welcoming shower, good water pressure, products, and hot water. Entire staff very friendly. Well equipped fitness area. Pool area large and nice size pool. No hot tub. Good location. Recommend this hotel.

Third time staying at this hotel since 2016 and most say I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Comfortable recently renovated rooms with great views. Fantastic breakfast buffet with plenty of options. The hotel has a very nice pool with a gym that’s very well equipped and maintained. Best part of the hotel is the great location just steps away from Montejo Avenue.

Excellent service. The rooms are not what you expect from a hayat hotel.the need to renovate. And get new furniture. Also the water pressure in the shower are no flow
