Yucatan is a historically rich region of Mexico, home to the ancient Mayan culture. In the downtown historic center, you can visit the city cathedral, an impressive 16th century construction or you can go to interesting museums, such as the Yucatan Museum of Archaeology. You can also take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the city`s main avenue, Paseo Montejo, which is lined with 19th century mansions and the Hyatt Regency Merida hotel. It`s a pleasant tour blending historic sights with the new world.

The level of service at the Hyatt Regency Merida was outstanding! My status as a Globalist was recognized and front desk agent Eduardo upgraded my reservation and solved multiple problems for me. He used creativity and service-excellence to keep me in the same room even though I had three consecutive reservations. Thank you Eduardo for making things easier for me. My wife and I stayed nineteen nights, eating breakfast every morning in La Peregrina Bistro and the service staff is excellent. We enjoyed a warm "buenos dias" and anticipation of our needs from Carlos, Enrique, and Arturo as well as others during our stay. Housekeeping services were excellent. Our suite was cleaned perfectly daily and they responded to requests for extra bottles of water and new towels. They score 10 out of 10. The gym needs a new set of free weights (dumbells) as well as a few fans because it gets very hot in there. There should also be some mats for floor work or yoga. I donated the two that I bought at Walmart. Overall, the Hyatt Regency Merida is in an excellent location, has great food and service, and is an enjoyable stay in the capital city of the Yucatan.

Most comfortable bed, very clean room. I had access to early checkin. The Staff was very friendly especially Cynthia, Mario and Alberto. I choose this hotel due to it close location to CEM hospital. Nice ambience, and walking distance to Walmart.

The hotel was clean, the linen was soft and the staff was attentive. Hyatt is close to many restaurants and coffee shops. Room was clean and the bar has complimentary pretzels and spiced nuts. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Lastly, I don't like that trip advisor makes you write more than you want to. Makes a person not want to leave a review.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel. We stayed in a club room on the 15th floor. The hotel was in good condition and spacious. The staff was very helpful and spoke English well. The included buffet breakfast was excellent with many choices. We also went to the Regency lounge for the included happy hour which had a lot of food, enough in fact to have a dinner every night. The room was clean and spacious. However, the one big problem was the hot water. There was no hot water at all during our first shower. Someone came to fix it, and eventually it worked. However, it remained inconsistent and lukewarm for the rest of the stay. I have read several reviews about this, so there appears to be a general problem with hot water, at least on this floor.
