Reviews for W Costa Navarino

A fabulous quality hotel for golfers & non-golfers alike!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We adore the Greek islands but this was our 1st visit to mainland Greece. We were a party of 4 (2 ladies, 2 golfing husbands!) and Costa Navarino had been recommended to us for the quality hotels & golf courses. The W seemed the best option for us as we like to be able to walk along to a local village for the occasional drink/lunch/dinner. LOCATION: 4/5: The location next to the beach, and close to 4 golf courses, is fantastic. We enjoyed the 20 minute walk along to Gialova, however, you have the choice of walking on the beach or on the roadside which is OK daytime. It’s not so easy/appealing in the dark, so we took taxis there & back in the evenings. The Agora area adjoining the hotel is beautiful. Cinema, occasional evening entertainment, several shops & restaurants, though all a little on the pricey side. Definitely paying for the location! Sunsets are beautiful tho! FACILITIES: 5/5: Superb! The hotel has well-kept grounds, and lovely pools/sun-bathing areas. It’s built next to an expansive beach so you can easily spend the day there too. There’s loads of sun-beds and complimentary beach towels. There’s also watersports, a spa, gym & fitness program. All public areas & the rooms we saw were lovely. SERVICE: 5/5: The staff are a real asset to the hotel. Reception/ concierge/ breakfast/ cleaners/ pool... all staff were all excellent - welcoming, smiley and hard working. ROOMS: 5/5: We’d booked a side sea view but were upgraded to ground floor rooms which opened onto a lovely terrace with direct access onto the most enormous swim-up pool we’d ever seen. Stunning. The terrace had a table & chairs, and then the lower terrace had a large fixed double sun lounger. Ideal! I could’ve stayed there for the whole week! I think the hotel was close to capacity, but it’s so big that it never felt crowded. It’s quiet and there’s no traffic noise at all. Rooms are spacious, freshly decorated, clean, with AC, fridge, TV, plenty of wardrobe space, really nice well-equipped bathroom with complimentary toiletries, modern fittings and walk-in shower. RESTAURANT: 5/5: Breakfast is buffet style, and I love the village style layout! An amazing choice of fresh fruit, cereals, breads, cakes & pastries, smoked fish, cheeses, cold meats, yogurts etc etc. (Try the mini doughnuts, they were the best ever!) There were also hot servers with a good variety of cooked breakfast items. We didn’t use the hotel for dinner, preferring to eat at the Agora/ in Gialova/ Pylos. (For info, our fave restaurants in Gialova were Elia, To Steki tou Vergou, and La Cucina.) SUMMARY: Gorgeous hotel and location. Would defo recommend!

Not a Marriott food and beverage service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

- Rooms very nice, big and well maintained. The room service menu on the TV is very smart. - very efficient concierge team as well as front office. Managed by Kostantinos!! - not efficient food and beverage service team. Every time we were going to the pool or beach it seems we were perfect unknown people. Nobody cares about us, too hard to order something to eat or drink. A simple water took 15 minutes to arrive. No smile by the pool and beach team, no recognition by name. Why do we have to pay for small bottle of water? Why don’t you create an amenities program by the pool and beach? Staff not trained at all. They seem to not care about clients. They were very fast to bring you the bill even though you didn’t ask for yet. - high volume of music by the main restaurant during night. We were not able to talk with each other or even placing an order since the singer had a too loud volume. We asked if it could be lowered but they told us “it’s Latino night sorry”. - amazing food, congrats to the chef - shoutout also for the head somellier To resume: food and beverage service needs some improvements especially at the pool and beach area. Culinary team is fabulous as well as the concierge and front office team.

It's a beautiful resort but the service is bad ! Our airconditioning failed and we had to ask 4 times till we were moved

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The resort is beautiful, really luxurious and on the whole the service was good, but the airconditioning in our room broke and we had to ask 4 times during the day until at 7 o'clock they gave us a new room with working airconditioning. We had to ask 3 times for someone to help us moving room. There was no further compensation give for a ruined evening!! Furthermore the food at the restaurants is okay but very overpriced like the wine and spirits is.

A hidden gem. Room for improvement but plenty to enjoy.

After a disappointing stay elsewhere, we were pleased that W Costa Navarino could accommodate us on short notice with a beachfront villa in the charming Agora area. Although slightly removed from the main resort, Agora’s village-like atmosphere with shops and restaurants added a pleasant dimension to our stay. Overall, the experience was very positive. Despite a long 3 hour drive from Athens, it was a very positive trip. We were a family of 2 at the time. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed the choice between the lively communal pool and a peaceful adults-only pool just above the beach, offering privacy and stunning views. As someone who values fitness, I appreciated the clean, well-equipped gym with both indoor and outdoor spaces, while the spa provided relaxing facilities including saunas, steam rooms, and quality treatments. Dining was a mixed bag. The hotel’s main restaurant, Parelia, had a limited menu repeated for lunch and dinner with little change in atmosphere, which was disappointing. However, the wider Costa Navarino complex offers a variety of dining options—including the Mandarin Oriental and an Italian restaurant in Agora—that help balance this. After several days, we explored the nearby village of Gialova, a 20-minute walk away, where we found authentic, high-quality local cuisine and a charming atmosphere not actively recommended by hotel staff but definitely worth visiting. The W also stands out for its lively pre-dinner scene. Several bars with stunning beachfront sunset views allowed us to vary our evening drinks—something rare in many resorts and a definite plus. On the downside, housekeeping felt minimal, and poolside service was slow and lacked enthusiasm. Interestingly, staff were quick to appear with the bill when guests stood to leave, which felt somewhat out of step with the rest of the service. In summary, W Costa Navarino offers a stylish, adult-focused retreat with excellent facilities and a vibrant atmosphere. While the dining at Parelia and some service elements could be improved, the overall experience combined with the beautiful setting and nearby village makes it a place we would gladly return to. We spent 3 days in W Costa Navarino. The place is stunning. Great hotel, impeccable service. The breakfast is huge and super tasty. Lunch we had at Parelia and it was fantastic. Literally the best octopus I ever hard in my life and the service from Ermioni was flawless. Don’t skip the sunset in Picantro with great meat. Simply breathless.Panos and his team where also great. Looking forward to go back.
