Family Memories at Azur

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Traveling with my niece and her daughter, our adventure in Chapultepec brought us to Azur for a memorable lunch and dessert. From preparing a meal at the table then a dessert at the table, we were mesmerized viewing this class-act. Thank you Fernando and Sergio! You made memories for our family.

No "Grand Fiesta" here...

Travelers beware! We booked this place based on the decent reviews. What we got was, by far, one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Let’s start with the fact that we were charged 600 pesos for drinking the in-room coffee. Yes, really. They provided a coffee maker and pods in the room—standard stuff for a hotel, right? Coffee is even listed as an amenity on their website. At no point was there any signage or warning that we’d be charged for using it. We assumed, reasonably, that it was included. Instead, we were slapped with a surprise bill at check-out. When we explained that there had been zero indication of a charge, they shrugged and refused to waive it. The room itself was a nightmare. Our first room was unbearably hot—the AC was broken. We asked to be moved, and they did... into a significantly smaller room. Great trade-off. Housekeeping also seemed to think the “Do Not Disturb” sign was a mere suggestion. They knocked every day during our naps and even entered the room once when we were sleeping. Want to order room service? Better bring your own tech support. They told us to use a QR code that didn’t work. We tried on both of our phones, on multiple nights, to no avail, and ended up ordering delivery. This stay felt like a comedy of errors—except no one was laughing, especially not at check-out when they charged us for coffee like it was a minibar bottle of Dom Pérignon. Bottom line: there are plenty of better places to stay. This one counts on small perks to draw you in, then nickel-and-dimes you with nonsense fees and service failures. Don’t fall for it.

A wonderful stay at a lovely hotel

The hotel is lovely. The bed is soft and fluffy. The best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Jazmin in the SPA gave me a wonderful relaxing massage. I returned for two more. :)
