Reviews for The St. Regis Mexico City

Luxury Stay with Some Room for Improvement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was our first time visiting Mexico City, and after reading several reviews, we were unsure where to stay. We ultimately decided on The St. Regis, and overall, we had a good experience, although there were a few things we wish we had known before booking. The bell service greeted us warmly when we arrived and made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the staff at the check-in desk were not nearly as friendly, which was disappointing after such a welcoming arrival. We booked an Executive Junior Suite, but we learned that there are several rooms in this category that vary quite a bit in size and layout. We were assigned a corner room, and the layout made the room feel extraordinarily claustrophobic. In our opinion, the corner rooms should either be removed from this room category or categorized separately so guests know exactly what type of room they are booking. Room layout can make a huge difference, and this particular room did not feel like what we expected from an Executive Junior Suite. One unique feature of the hotel is the private butler service, which is available 24 hours a day. While it was certainly a nice amenity, we personally didn’t find ourselves needing it very often. One thing to be aware of is that there is no iron in the room. If you need to quickly iron something yourself, you have to contact your butler and have it handled for you. While I understand the luxury-service concept behind this, there are times when you simply want to iron something quickly and get ready without having to request assistance. Another important consideration is the room layout. There is essentially no privacy within the suite because there are no doors separating the different areas. It is a very open-concept design, so keep that in mind when booking. For this reason, I would recommend this hotel more for adults or couples than for families or anyone who prefers more separation and privacy within their room. That said, the majority of the staff we encountered were absolutely wonderful and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the location made it a convenient base for exploring Mexico City. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but given the opportunity to stay at some of the other hotels we considered during our trip, I think we would have liked to experience one of those instead. The St. Regis has many great qualities, but the room layout and check-in experience left us feeling that it wasn't quite the right fit for us.

A Standout Stay in CDMX! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Mexico City never disappoints me, and my inner foodie is always thrilled when I’m in CDMX. I’ve been curious about The St. Regis since its renovation and refresh (nearly complete). They’ve added eight new Garden Terrace Rooms and Suites with private gardens overlooking Paseo de la Reforma (some with whirlpools). While I didn’t stay in one on this visit, I’m excited to in the near-future. I love the new design and must say that my stay has been flawless from start to finish. The service is exceptional — one of the best I’ve ever experienced and that's saying something. I was greeted by name everywhere I went. The frictionless ease and communication between departments were masterful. Shoutout to guest services (Victor), butler service, housekeeping, and the entire restaurant team at Diana (Jorge, Omar, and so many more). They have some of the best hospitality in the industry. When you visit, check out the St. Regis Bloody Mary Ritual (you can choose a specialized version that each St. Regis around the world is known for) and also Afternoon Tea. Both were amazing experiences while overlooking Reforma on the terrace at Diana. The hard product is great, but the service is next level. You’ll have a ton of amazing options when visiting CDMX, I highly recommend trying out The St. Regis, especially if you’re looking for classic modern luxury and exceptional service.

Completely underrated hotel

Very well located with nice (but small) rooms. Very helpful staff who arranged for Friday Kahlo tickets (which my travel agency did not get). And by far the best breakfast during our entire stay in Mexico! Just delicious.

An Unforgettable Stay in a Memorable City!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I don't think there are enough words to describe our recent stay at the St Regis Mexico City. From start to finish the staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure my family had an amazing experience. From Iliana's warm welcome and care throughout our stay to our daily interactions with Diego and Enrique coming in and out of the hotel (the best recommendations and chats about CDMX) and Efrau (and the entire butler team) who spoiled us daily with tea service and surprises for our son. Then there is morning staff in Diana - Martin/Ulises/Diego/Carlos/Arturo and all the hostesses who made every morning special. Martin's churro surprise after we had gone to Coyoacan was the sheer icing on the cake. All this to say that the staff really makes you feel welcomed, cared for, and the thoughtful gestures show that they genuinely care. It was so hard to leave but we now have a place in CDMX that we can call "home". Looking forward to our next trip!

Amazing luxurious stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

What a wonderful stay! We were upgraded to a beautiful suite room 1001. We also used their airport transportation and Roberto was excellent but so was the other driver. When we arrived the bellmen promptly assisted us with our luggage and we were checkin. We were excited to have seen the nice upgrade (am Ambassador) and they acknowledged my status. The whole stay was magical. The King Cole Bar is a wonderful space with creative cocktails. We had breakfast at Diana and our server Arturo was outstanding. Sonia the Diana Manager also came by to say hello and see how our breakfast was and she was pleasant and wonderful. We came by before we left for our check out (quick one night stay) and had nice champagne glasses to quick start our vacation (what better way than Krug!) Wonderful stay and cant wait to come back!
