Reviews for Loews Miami Beach Hotel

Nice facilities, but service needs significant improvement.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The common facilities are nice, but the hotel has some serious issues with service. We stayed in a newly renovated suite, but there were issues with the room, and the housekeeping, accommodations, and customer service all need serious review. On day 1, we realized the TVs didn’t work well. They both had static when watching cable, and connecting to streaming apps didn’t work. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, which was difficult due to our younger child typically taking baths, but the shower at least had a detachable wand. After using the wand for a few minutes, the hose connection started to spray/leak, and then it just disconnected and started whipping around the shower. Luckily no one was hurt. We also quickly noticed that the toilet flush didn’t work well and the toilet tank would run and refill every few minutes. We first got to the room very late, and our young daughters were exhausted. We immediately pulled out the convertible couch where they would sleep, and we went to get the bed set from the closet, but it only contained a single pillow, and no blanket, so we contacted the front desk and had to wait an additional 30 minutes for someone to bring the bedding. On day 2, I made myself a cup of coffee in the room and used one of the disposable cups. When I went to put the lid on, I pushed to try to secure it, and I found that it didn’t fit with the cup that was provided, and when pushing it splashed coffee on my hand. Again, luckily nothing serious. On day 3, we put the indicator on to request housekeeping, but when we returned to the room that evening, we noticed that the room had not been visited by housekeeping. On day 4, I notified the front desk that housekeeping had not made our room, and I requested that they prioritize our room for housekeeping. When we got back to the room in the evening, we realized that housekeeping had just made our beds. Our dirty used dishes, ice bucket with water, etc. had not been cleaned, and the trash cans had not been emptied, and we had no clean towels. I notified the front desk again, said that I put our dishes and ice bucket in the hallway, and asked that housekeeping bring us clean dishes and an empty ice bucket with new liner while we were at dinner. Two hours later, at 7:15pm, we returned from dinner, and we still had not received these replacement items. I contacted the front desk again, and asked that we get clean glasses and an ice bucket ASAP. By 8:15, we had put our daughters to bed, so I contacted the front desk AGAIN to ask that they just leave the glasses and ice bucket in the hallway, so as to not wake our daughters by ringing the doorbell. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, the doorbell rang, woke our daughters, and the guy from housekeeping delivered the ice bucket only (no glasses). A little after 9, my wife and I went to bed, but at 10:30, the front desk called our room to ask if we had received these requests, again waking up our daughters. For the remainder of our trip, housekeeping never emptied our ice bucket or replaced the liner, and they never delivered clean glasses/mugs. They just ignored the dirty ones on the bar. On several days, they also failed to empty the trash, leaving smelly food items to sit in the room. They also did nothing to fix the TVs. The facilities are nice, and the location is good, but the service needs some serious improvement. The one positive is that they honored our request for a late check-out to align with our travel time.

Broken Pool and Terrible Service! Do not stay here!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I traveled to Loews Miami with my husband and two kids. We are returning guests and had a really positive experience last winter. Unfortunately our experience was very different this year. When we checked in late from our flight and we were very disappointed to see that the sheets were dirty with a clear brown spot that smelled. Normally we would have asked to change rooms immediately but our kids were sleeping so instead we asked house keeping to come and change the sheets and tried not to think too much about it, but it was a gross and frustrating way to start. Most upsetting was the pool after traveling from the north east! The pool heater was broken for our entire stay which meant that the pool was FREEZING! Both of my kids refused to go in the pool after trying it out the first day! The pool was empty and all of the guests were complaining, upset, and many were squeezing into the one tiny hot tub! The hotel staff continually said they were working on it but unfortunately the pool, the main attraction on vacation, remained broken the entire trip!!! At checkout we asked to receive money back from our poor experience and were only offered the resort fee. After fighting with the assistant manager, we agreed on one night back. We thought 50% should be returned but didn’t want to continue to argue. We were told that they would reach out to Priceline as that is where we booked to be compensated for 1 night in addition to the resort fee. We did initially call Loews to see if they would price match when booking the initial reservation and they would not by the way. Well it turns out that Loews decided on an arbitrary rate for the first night which isn’t what we agreed on and agreed to give us $200 less back than our nightly rate. We are currently still fighting with them and Priceline agrees that what they offered is not the nightly rate! I thought this would be our yearly winter vacation and hoped to even have a family reunion next winter with all grandparents but I am so disgusted that they would cheat us out of $200 after already having a bad experience. This is not what I expect from The Loews and will not be returning at this time! This was the experience of many others as well so I would reconsider staying somewhere else if I were planning a vacation to Miami!

A great spot for families!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is a very beautiful, resort style, hotel. It’s perfect for families with kids and has a great location, amazing customer service, and bottomless amenities. The staff are clearly trainee and well, and really make you feel like they want you to have a great time. It’s a very busy hotel, in a bustling area of Miami and everything is a bit crowded. That being said, whatever you could want from a vacation is in walking distance and it’s fun to get there by foot.

Great Stay at Lowes

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Family and I enjoyed a 5 night stay at Loews and could not have been happier. The staff were accommodating and kind. Peitro, was a huge help and was able to assist our family with a larger room which made the stay that much better. This is a family friendly resort and the location is excellent to all things South Beach. We will return....Thank you Loews.
