Reviews for The Sagamore Hotel South Beach

Disappointing experience (smoking, rude employees, trash, etc)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

I swear this is the first negative review I’ve ever posted online. We are here right now. Our stay here at the sagamore has been a lot less than I was hoping for, especially for the price. I understand that this is all first world problems and I hate complaining. I work in a customer service industry and the team here needs training. When we checked in, it was the last day of their pool parties for Miami music week. Fine, I get it, I work in events and I understand how these events work - BUT - one of the reasons we booked the sagamore is because it’s a non-smoking hotel. The patio outside of our room was littered with cigarette and joint butts. I called and they were cleaned up the next day. On our first pool day, I was helping myself to towels all day. I did not know there is a card system where I need to hand in a towel card to get a towel. At 4pm, I went to get more towels, and the girl working the towel desk asked me where my towel card was, I honestly didn’t know what she was referring to - then she got so rude and snippy with me because she “saw me taking towels all day” and it’s only “two towels per person.” Why are we gate keeping the towel at a freakin pool? We went to the beach. No towels there. Had to wait 20 mins for a towel. Then, the people next to us kept smoking on their balcony so we couldn’t sit outside. I just got back from dinner, and our whole room smells like pot. Our bungalow room walks right out to the pool deck with some couches. Very convenient. I have two young kids. This morning, the kids walked outside and there was a MAN SLEEPING on the couches right outside of our room. He looked homeless or lost or drunk. Is there so security walking the grounds? Or cameras? Luis at the front desk has been great and very understanding with my complaints. I just wish I didn’t need to text him everyday about cigarette butts, smoking, random sleeping men, etc. He’s doing a great job. We’ve stayed at a lot of Miami Beach area hotels, and for the price, this one is definitely not worth it.

Melvin is the GOAT!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

When I say this trip was absolute perfection, I truly mean it! The service was top-notch from start to finish. Melvin and his team made sure that every detail was taken care of seamlessly. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional staff - everyone was friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond. It’s rare to feel this genuinely welcomed at a hotel, and it made all the difference. In addition to the team’s incredible attention to detail, Melvin extended a few thoughtful gestures that elevated our stay even further. My friends and I will absolutely be returning. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Sagamore Poolside Lunch

Was an amazing lunch by the pool! Had the ceasar salad with crispy chicken and a Funky Buddha IPA recommended by Ariel. Great experience all around!

Overpriced, Noisy, and Completely Unfit for Families

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Let me save you some trouble: if you’re looking for a family-friendly, restful stay, this is not the hotel for you. Our family has traveled all over the country and this is by far a notable terrible hotel. Weeks before our trip, we called the desk and were assured there were no nearby Miami festivities that would disrupt a family visit. Fast forward to our stay: on Saturday night, a club party went on all night, and our room was literally shaking past 11 PM—with a child in the room. When we politely complained, the front desk shrugged and said, “Nothing we can do, the city allows it.” The staff at this hotel is absolutely atrocious, dismissive, and extremely rude. Any attempt to ask for help was met with eye-rolls, indifference, and outright hostility. Communication throughout our stay was a nightmare, and customer service was nonexistent. The rooms themselves are outdated and subpar, clearly not worth the exorbitant price. The pool? Fine, if you’re looking for overpriced drinks north of $25 each while listening to club music through the walls. Honestly, the only thing this hotel delivers reliably is stress. Families, skip this disaster. You’ll be far happier at a quieter, genuinely family-friendly property like Loews. Save your money, your patience, and your sanity.

Great

Had a great experience at the Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach. The pool service really stood out—Ariel was extremely hardworking, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout our time there. He made sure everything was taken care of and always had a great attitude. Service like that definitely makes a difference. Highly recommend!
