Collins Avenue boutique SLS South Beach tops Miami’s “It List” for its celeb-studded restaurants and nightlife, the two elements that define the SLS brand. José Andres makes his Miami debut with The Bazaar, and acclaimed sushi chef Katsua Uechi brings a second high-profile restaurant to the mix. Cabanas at the beachfront club Hyde Beach are almost as sultry as the rooms – designer Philippe Starck modeled them like a modern-day boudoir of Louis XV’s mistress, with French furniture and mirrored ceilings.

I stayed here April 2025 for a solo getaway. I was granted early check in which was nice. The rooms are small especially the bathrooms. My TV nor the Wi-Fi would not work properly. On my second night there I got a random $500 charge while I was getting ready for dinner. I went to the front desk to ask what the charge was for and was told by an employee that he was new and was pushing buttons and I would be refunded. I was refunded but still that shouldn't have happen. I also purchase a daybed on the beach for the day which was nice. The bartenders were really great. I don't think I would stay here again. According to the bartender this property is closing in May.

The size of the rooms are really small versus the price. The housekeeper service it’s regular, the room service it’s good. The gym it’s terrible! The pool with external party’s has no exclusive ambience for the guests, with no good attention service. In general it’s a poor experience,

The most disappointing hotel experience I have had in years. Our room had a leaky toilet and we had to move. Only one elevator was working the entire length of our stay and the one that did work broke half the time. The wifi was broken for 2 days. The hotel itself was probably once beautiful but it’s now shabby and run down… half the stay was great, the other half didn’t know much/not helpful. The rooms are small, the lighting is bad. The construction next door was also beyond loud and ruined any breakfast and pool time. The pool cushions were dingy and dirty. Overall - would not recommend.

SLS South Beach (Stay from March 29 to April 3) From the beginning, my stay was extremely disappointing: There was only one elevator working, which made it exhausting to reach my room on the 11th floor. The room was consistently unclean, and the internet did not work. The pool area was visibly dirty, with bottles and cups left under the chairs, showing a clear lack of maintenance. At check-out, I was surprised by wrongfully charged breakfast fees, even though breakfast was included in my reservation. The receptionist insisted the charges were correct and showed no willingness to verify the information. The most stressful moment occurred when I stated that I wanted to pay using my ALL loyalty points. The receptionist initially confirmed it was possible, but later claimed the person responsible was not available. She promised that I would be contacted, even requesting my WhatsApp number. At that point, her attitude became hostile, and she said there was nothing else she could do and that I had to leave the hotel immediately. Security staff began to watch us in an intimidating manner, creating a highly uncomfortable and humiliating situation that forced us to leave the hotel quickly. The next day, the hotel contacted me and said they would proceed with the points payment, but then claimed the system was down and they couldn’t complete it. Despite that, the hotel proceeded to charge US$ 1,455.44 to my credit card without my consent.

This has to be my worst hotel experience to date. I must highlight that I did say in Miami Music week and I was never made aware this happens in the hotel! The way the hotel is set up I suspect it is always similar however. The room itself was clean enough, the communal areas are filthy, the interior designer has created what feels more sleazy than designer chic in the corridors! Only one lift worked for the duration of our stay meaning very long waits for the lift as the staff also were using this one for laundry and food transportation. The hotel was full of police and security but this didn’t stop the drug use by other guests. It is not a comfortable or relaxing environment. You were often questioned just trying to get into the hotel as a guest, once you managed to get past all the cars in your way! There is no chance of being able to use the pool, even if you got past security as it will be too full of people drinking! The volume of the music was horrific in every area of this hotel. The music started at 3pm - 11pm and there were no escape. My light fittings on the 7th floor on the opposite side of the hotel even vibrated! The music could be heard thudding until you got about 4 buildings away. The consierge staff will only be interested in helping with your bags if you are young and female! The drinks prices are VERY expensive which would be acceptable if they were nice drinks presented well, they were back street night club style drinks in my opinion. Positives: best shower I have ever had in a hotel room, good location. If you want any sort of relaxing break avoid this place like that plague !

The SLS was great! Superb location, excellent staff, great rooms. We ate at two of the restaurants during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed both. Your luxury link offer made the stay even better!
