Terrible hotel, the room was dirty and stained. The staff were disinterested and nobody spoke English.

My husband and I stayed at the Tony Hotel South Beach last weekend and met a very helpful gentleman by the name of Jamie who was the concierge. Wewere looking to get dinner reservations and see some local attractions. He was very helpful in setting us up with a great weekend experience, I would recommend the stay and speaking with him to any of my friends.

Very disappointing

We had booked this hotel for a couple of nights after our Caribbean cruise, we had booked an Ocean drive deluxe king room, and we expected a Sea view as the hotel website promoted a Sea view. When we arrived at the Hotel we were told that the room was not available until 16.00hrs, we were very tired and just wanted to rest, but the concierge accepted our bags and we went in search of something to eat, however, there was a tropical rain storm and we were soaked to the skin, we did manage to find the 11th street diner and had something to eat and drink. We came back to the hotel and our room was ready, the concierge took us to our room which is not in the main hotel but an annexe on the front of Ocean drive, when we got to our room, to say it was basic is an understatement, you have to enter the building through a door which is in the middle of a cafe, (I find this very odd), and the room was dark and dingy with very dated furniture however it was clean, I went to the window opened the blind only to be confronted by the diners in the cafe opposite waving at me, there was no view of the sea, but if you craned your neck enough you could see the sea in the distance, my husband went to reception to complain only to be told that we were not guaranteed to be given a room with a sea view and because we booked this through a third party (our travel agent) we are not guaranteed anything, as far as I’m concerned this is a cop out, my husband pointed out that their website is very misleading because it doesn’t state that the ocean drive deluxe king does not have an ocean drive view and the only rooms that does have the view are the ocean drive balcony rooms, so in other words just get on with it. We also discovered that their website does state that the rooms are in an annexe but it doesn’t state that you have to enter the annexe through a very busy cafe dragging your suitcase past diners 🤷‍♀️ and there is also an unmanned reception so if you want anything you have to walk up the street to the main building 🤨 however we were provided with ear plugs 😲 we now understand why, this was to block out the late night music, arguing, swearing 🤬 on the street, the toilet was hilarious when you flushed it the handle spun round, the receptionist told us that as long as it flushed it was ok. So all in all I would suggest that you do not use this hotel, they have very unhelpful staff and the whole hotel needs to be refurbished or maybe just pull the whole thing down and start again, don’t waste your time or money on this place, this was very disappointing, art deco it may be (with a little imagination) but I would say this is 2 star at best

My wife and I just returned from a stay at The Hotel of South Beach and have vowed to return as soon as possible. The hotel was marvelous and the suite we stayed in was just beautiful. We also ate dinner at Wish on Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary and the food was absolutely delicious. All in all, we absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
