Our stay at the W- too notch. What truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding service at the pool. Ana and Leo were absolutely amazing constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying ourselves. Their attentiveness, and genuinely warm personalities made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Service like that is what turns a great vacation into a memorable one.

I’m sharing this review about the W South Beach / W Miami Beach because the experience has been very disappointing compared to what was advertised and what you would expect when paying nearly $7,000 for a three-night stay. Several months ago, I booked a two-bedroom corner ocean-view suite directly through Marriott Bonvoy. The photos on the website prominently showed high-floor units with expansive ocean views. However, upon arrival, we were assigned a suite on the 4th floor with only a partial ocean view, much of it obstructed by palm trees. The suite also overlooked the pool area, which became extremely noisy during the day. I politely spoke with the front desk and asked whether we could be moved to a higher floor. I was told the hotel only has five of these corner suites and that nothing else was available. I then requested to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the response from management was not customer-focused at all. No meaningful effort was made to improve the situation, no concessions or gestures of goodwill were offered, and the attitude was essentially: “If you don’t like it, you can cancel and we’ll refund you.” What stood out most was how impersonal and transactional the hotel felt. For a property positioning itself as luxury hospitality, there was very little that made us feel valued as guests. Nobody offered to help with luggage when we arrived, despite us carrying bags and backpacks ourselves. The check-in experience felt more like a standard business hotel than a luxury resort. There were also none of the thoughtful touches you often find at true five-star properties — no welcome note, no fruit, no wine, no personalized hospitality, nothing that created a sense of warmth or appreciation for guests spending this kind of money. The hotel itself may be stylish, but the service experience simply does not match the pricing or branding. Compared to hotels like the Four Seasons and other true luxury properties, this felt far below expectations. At this point, the stay has been disappointing, and the biggest issue is the gap between what is marketed online and the actual guest experience delivered.
