Recently renovated, graced with effortless beauty and sophistication, The Biltmore Hotel is a national historic landmark located in the exclusive Coral Gables area, with close proximity to Miami Beach and downtown Miami. The 273-room resort includes 133 suites and features spectacular Mediterranean architecture with classic Italian, Moorish, and Spanish influences spread over 150 acres of tropical landscape. A favorite of world leaders and celebrities since its opening in 1926, the hotel offers a restored Donald Ross 18-hole, 71-par championship golf course; tennis courts; the largest hotel pool on the East Coast of the United States with private cabanas; a European spa and a renowned fitness center. The hotel’s dining destinations include the award winning Palme d'Or, recognized by Zagat as one of the best restaurants in the country; Fontana, a traditional Italian restaurant surrounding The Biltmore courtyard and fountain; the poolside Cascade, the 19th Hole golf-centric restaurant and culinary academy.

The Biltmore is the best example of how to take a historic, beautiful hotel with extraordinary potential and totally ruin it through incompetence and bad taste. Taste might be subjective but taking a historic landmark that was built with the high quality proper of how things were done at the turn of the 20th century and then refurbishing it with the cheapest possible materials and furniture, awful lighting, painting it with pastel colors that not even Disney would dare to use, cheap floors,.... The whole place gives a sense of a bygone era that has not evolved well. The restaurants are soul less and cheap looking, the food correct but not worth returning to. We booked a junior suite. Both windows were so dirty that you could not see through properly. I have never seen such dirty windows in a hotel room. There was a large piece of furniture for the minibar but the shelves (where usually one finds minibar amenities to buy) were empty as was the minibar itself, disconnected and empty. Staff were correct but not very friendly. Given the state of the hotel, I'm not surprised as it must be difficult to recruit staff to work in a place that wreaks of decadence. I normally wouldn't bother writing this review but I find it irritating that such an iconic landmark that could be one of Florida's best hotels has become so mediocre in absolutely every aspect. Fortunately we had only planned to stay one night. If I had booked for more nights, we would have moved out after the first night.

Unfortunately I’m writing to you live from a vibrating hotel room at almost 11 PM on a Saturday night. Music has been shaking our room since 5 and when I complained I was just told that there are two weddings occurring tonight and this noise level will be the case until midnight. This seems like a great place to stay but unfortunately I would not risk it if you’re hoping to get a full night sleep on a weekend. My friend and I can handle it but it would have been disastrous for anyone with children or older guests.

Rarely write reviews, but wanted to set the record straight. Based on many of the reviews, I was somewhat concerned that my wife and I would be disappointed with the hotel, especially given the steep price. Complaints about the nosey pipes, the outdated rooms, the filthy pool area, the decline of the food at Fontana, the lack of upgrades and on and on. All bogus. Hotel gorgeous, staff amazing, food awesome! We went to the New Year’s Eve price fix at Fontana followed by an incredible New Year’s Eve party with an incredible DJ and fireworks display. Our three pups had the best time too as this hotel is very canine friendly. We will be back to this wonderful property and cannot say enough great things.

I am a guest at the hotel due to a work conference. Although the hotel is beautiful, I would not accept a free room at this hotel in the future, due to the incredible amount of loud noise of water moving in the pipes in the ceiling of each room. This noise lasts all day. I am writing this review at 7:30 at night due to the lackluster response from the front door staff when I called to inquire about when the noise might subside. I called the front desk and was notified that an engineer would need to come to my room to visibly inspect the pipes. This doesn’t make sense to me as the issue is not the visual impact of the pipes but more a question about when does the hotel turn off its industrial pipeline. The issue is with the really old pipes that run through a really old hotel that has been renovated, but apparently the pipes cascading through each room were overlooked. The front desk staff were difficult to work with. This hotel is over 100 years old and noise in the pipe should be expected. However, noise happening almost 24 hours a day is very difficult to accept at the price point of this hotel.

Spent five nights at the Biltmore. It’s a beautiful historic property. Not sure I would call it “luxury”’by today’s standards but still a great stay. The room was good if not great, the bathroom was very small with one sink, a toilet that didn’t want to flush and wasn’t big enough for two people at once. Bed was very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the pool but no chairs on which to sit and enjoy. Housekeeping had to be requested every day we wanted the room refreshed and still didn’t always show up until we stopped by concierge. On the plus side the pool is iconic, the on-site food delicious and the gym is absolutely epic. Definitely bring a car here—nothing is walkable so you end up taking uber everywhere and self parking is free. I would have liked to try the brunch but for $152 p/p someone else will have to weigh in.
