Hotel AKA Brickell

When the sticker price for a basic queen room is $600 plus, why do you need to sneak “destination fees” onto to my bill? AKA does not tell you about the destination fees until you check out ($100 per day). Want to check in early? $100 fee (this was $75 fee last time we stayed here). The hotel was transitioning to Marriot brand on my last day so the breakfast service was extremely limited due to “system issue”. Only toast and fruit at the “Michelin chef” restaurant. Booked a massage for 9am. Got there at 8:50am and waited until 9:15am until I gave up. Eventually got a call at 9:30am w the spa manager acting as though she had been at the spa desk the whole time only to eventually admit she was caught in traffic. I did end up getting my “80 minute massage” but it was only 65 minutes of actual massage time. My shower was out of conditioner and body wash. I called down for a replacement and it never came. I travel to Miami often for work and will do my best to avoid AKA brickell or whatever it will be rebranded too under marriot ownership.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless. Corami made the check-in process smooth, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. After a long trip, that kind of energy makes all the difference. She was professional, attentive, and took the time to explain everything clearly without making it feel rushed. What truly stood out was how authentic the service felt. Oscar’s approach was natural and personable — not scripted, not forced. He was attentive without being intrusive and made the whole stay feel relaxed and comfortable. It’s rare to find that balance. Overall, the team created a first impression that set the tone for a great stay in Miami. I would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel with an absolutely gorgeous view of the Biscayne Bay. My first impression was with the valet, Elijah, who welcomed me with a big, beautiful smile and was genuinely excited to meet me and assist with my bags!!! Then I ran into Paul, who I met 3 years ago when I visited the hotel. He remembered me and was able to point out several things that he remembered about my last stay and what car I used to drive. Then Oscar at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating. I wanted a large room on a high floor and Oscar walked me through the hotel, showed me a few rooms, and made sure I was happy with the size and the view of my room before leaving me (I had a lot of bags, and I love a great view)! Yes, my room was large. Yes, I had a great view! I also had a sofa, fridge, and they were able to bring in a microwave. And, every time I passed through the valet area I was personally greeted, and the door was held for me. The Adrift Mare restaurant, the rooftop pool and the outdoor sky lawn are all truly AMAZING!!! Elijah, Paul and Oscar and the entire staff provided awesome customer service and made my stay most enjoyable! I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again on my next visit to Miami.
