Mayfair House Hotel & Garden

I very rarely write reviews, but our stay at the Mayfair was flawless. It is such a beautiful building and our room was absolutely gorgeous. As mentioned in other places, people like Fernando made it a truly special experience. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the balcony was so cozy and private. Cannot wait to go back!

David was amazing. Kind, efficient, professional. Everything! We arrived early, had all sorts of naive questions. He was patient and everything worked out. Fantastic!

The hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff are a pleasure to deal with. The room is amazing and clean. The hotel restaurant has delicious food as well and complimentary breakfast every morning! The only bad part is paying $600 for the room and not being able to use the additional benefits through AMEX hotel collection. Would not offer a room upgrade after asking every day of the stay. Got strung along with the response of "check back tomorrow we show availability"

Totally unimpressed especially for the price. I lived in Coconut Grove some years back and the Mayfair was the top of the line place to stay. It is still a beautiful environment, but service is very not good these days. We came to Miami for a show and checked in afterward, so around 10:30pm. We called multiple times to let them know about our late arrival, no one ever answered the phone. Upon arrival, only one person at the check in able and he was in a lengthy, heated discussion with some guests about incidental charges. After waiting over 20 mins, without acknowledgement, I politely interrupted and asked if perhaps someone else could check us in as it was getting late. We got checked in and went to our suite. The room seemed not to have been cleaned well, with debris on the floor and white powder all over the desk. We cleaned it ourselves rather than call or have to switch rooms. We did have to call for a blanket as it was a cold night and there were none in the room. Next morning, the included breakfast seemed nice upon entrance, but the waiter was slow and surly, and they were out of the included juices and gave us orange and said they didn't have decaf coffee. Really? Would not come back. Very disappointing at over $600 per night.

Great location but overall not worth the price. Front desk staff is awesome and very attentive We are in a deluxe corner suite. Room is large but very dark and the noise from the adjoining room is as though they are in our room. Breakfast is included but a limited selection on what is “complimentary”. Rooftop pool is quite nice. Oddly the biggest issue is the elevators. You have to choose your floor and get assigned and elevator and it is hyper slow and doesn’t work 30% of the time and you cannot use the stairs. Good hotel but not worth the $500+ a night
