Mayfair House Hotel & Garden

We first stayed at the Mayfair House for our honeymoon many years ago. The hotel has maintained its beautiful architecture and charm. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Thanks for the great stay.

A couple weeks ago my partner surprised me with a night at the Mayfair House for our third anniversary. Just one night - a perfect staycation in the neighborhood we'd once called home. Having recently relocated from the Grove to Little Havana, he knew that whisking us away to the botanical oasis I'd so longingly admired for years would make for memories that will last a lifetime. Upon arriving for check-in, we were promptly greeted by David. His warm welcome and genuine kindness had us feeling immediately at-ease. Not only was he knowledgeable and professional, filling us in on all Mayfair House has to offer, but he was personable in a way that didn't feel forced. A refreshing change from the cool indifference that seems to be the standard at many other places. He even asked what it was that drew us to the room my partner had picked (it was the clawfoot tub!), saying he had a much better one in mind...and wow, was he right!!! Unbeknownst to us, he'd given our room a complimentary upgrade to one we only ever could have dreamed of! He even caught us later as we left for dinner, checking in and asking how we liked the room. All of the Mayfair House staff made our stay a delight, truly could not have asked for better. But David really went above and beyond to make it an experience we'll never forget. It was our first time here and we're already looking for an excuse to come back!

Such a beautiful hotel with awesome amenities. Has been great for our business trip. The rooms are gorgeous and the food is fantastic!

The Mayfair is one of our favorite family friendly staycations in Miami. Each room is beautiful and it feels like you’ve stepped into an oasis as soon as you pull in. Everything is very thoughtfully curated from the bar snacks to the Turkish cotton robes. The value when booking through Amex travel is unparalleled, especially in our favorite travel month September. The Mayfair Grill also has a lovely atmosphere and wonderful service. Some things to note, valet is quite pricey at $55/night so if you can manage without a car, do it! The area is super walkable.

Would never stay here again. Our room was painted in nothing but very dark colors and the lighting in the room was no brighter than a few candles- it was like staying in a cave. There was barely water pressure in the shower and sinks. It would have been better to go out and find a garden hose. To make things worse, the toilet in our room didn’t work from the time we arrived- we kept calling about it, but instead of giving us another room, they just sent up a couple of handymen who did not fix the problem. the whole weekend, any time we needed to use the toilet we had to go down 5 flights to the lobby bathroom. I had a work meeting to join remotely and it was so dark in the room I couldn’t see the paperwork I was reviewing as part of the meeting. Also, be aware that the hallways and common areas are open to the outside -so the minute you step out of your room into the hall you are feeling the full humidity and heat of Miami- by the time you make it from your room to the lobby you are soaked in sweat. Definitely not worth the inflated rate they charged us because it was UM parents weekend. We should have just camped out in a tent- wasn’t much of a difference between that and staying in this hotel.
