The Mutiny Hotel

I had a wonderful stay at The Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove! The location is fantastic, with the beautiful Coconut Grove neighborhood right outside your door. The hotel has a charming, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was comfortable, spacious, and had everything I needed for a relaxing visit. I especially enjoyed being so close to great restaurants, shops, and the waterfront while still having a peaceful place to come back to. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would happily stay at The Mutiny again. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and conveniently located stay in Coconut Grove!

We stayed three nights at the Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove, and what should have been a great trip ended with one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. On our last night, we got back around midnight after a concert and our room key simply didn't work. There was no one at the front desk. A security guard from an outside contractor tried the master key. That didn't work either. A manager walked her through using some kind of tool to force the door open. That failed too, and then the guard left us sitting in the hallway, exhausted, with no update, while she went to try to reach someone on the phone. After 30 minutes with no word, we went downstairs ourselves. The guard was still struggling to reach hotel management. When she finally got someone, his solution was to move us to a different room for the night, without any of our belongings, and "fix it in the morning." I had to get on the phone myself and explain I had medication I needed from the room, a work deadline with my laptop locked inside and a flight the next day. Only after I pushed back did they agree to call an offsite maintenance engineer. He didn't arrive until 1:30 a.m. We were left waiting in a hallway for over an hour and a half with no water, no communication, no apology for what turned out to be a dead lock battery. By the time we got in, I'd lost most of the night's sleep, had to cancel an excursion the next morning to meet my deadline, and left the hotel completely drained. The hotel only waived the cleaning and resort fee (about $85). For a property charging what the Mutiny charges, this level of service and safety response is unacceptable. I wouldn't stay here again and can't recommend it.

A nickel and dime you to death, comfortable enough hotel in good location. Unfortunately, the front desk service is less than hospitable with tight lipped and unsmiling personnel. Questions were answered in less than 2 words, and when status request was made on readiness of room at 2 pm, 3pm and 4pm, the answer was always 20 more minutes… When I asked about a $30 cleaning fee on check out (we had cleaned entire apartment including kitchen and all dishes), the desk clerk could not answer completely and had no interest in even considering negotiating. Sad that a nice place like this is run by poorly hired and or non-skilled hospitality-lacking folks. If only a smile and a show of a glimpse of care from the service at Mutiny, I may have given a 4 in lieu of a 2. The step up from a one rating was for the room and location of hotel being exceptional.

Flight cancelled and needed a last minute hotel. The Mutiny was well priced and in a very beautiful location. The room suite was amazing because it had a kitchen, living room, two bed and two bathrooms. Very cozy and the views from the balcony were gorgeous. I didn't rate it as 5 out of 5 because the welcoming didn't exist and also since it's an older hotel it does need some things fixed but nothing atrocious. Definitely want to stay here again and try all the amenities.

I booked a room with balcony and ocean view (photo hotel.com). They gave me an middling accommodation with view of a parking yard and trash cans (smell and truck at 7:20 am). I complained without success. Price: $ 340/night Avoid!
