The crown jewels of Trump National Doral Miami are its golf courses, 90 holes of PGA-worthy turf that include The Blue Monster, Greg Norman’s Great White and Raymond Floyd’s gold course. Trump acquired the Doral property in 2012 and has since given it a $250 million facelift. Rooms were renovated in a warm neutral palette with mahogany and gold leaf Spanish Revival details, and luxe cabanas flank the new Royal Palm Pool. There are 800 acres and almost as many rooms at Trump National Doral, making the resort a city in itself.

We stayed here 4 nights in a premier room in the Tiger Woods villa building. The rooms are plain vanilla and lack views but they are close to the main building. The nicer rooms are a good walk away. The hotel is 15 minutes drive from the airport. During the day you hear planes constantly landing overhead. The rooms are fine in this building except for two important things: 1. The AC keeps going off at night unless you call in an engineer and have him set it to VIP setting so that it doesn't keep shutting off. 2. The hot water takes a good 3 minutes to come on in the shower or in the sink. The gym is very good and has everything you need. A few more toys such as a bicep curl would be nice but it's fine. It's just off the main lobby and is open 24 hours. The two pools are large and one is a little warmer than the other. There is a cool water slide too but it goes into a separate small pool. They let kids go down the slide together and I'm not sure that is a great idea. Pool closes at dusk and is locked so night swimming is out. There are indoor and outdoor lap pools at the spa as well. There are bikes for rental and you can drive around the golf course which is very pretty. Two funny things about this place, considering they are owned by the Trump family. 1. In the bathroom you will find toiletries from China such as soap. 2. I've never been to a hotel in South Florida where, other than the front desk, valets and people you talk to on the phone, the vast majority of the people on staff I asked questions to couldn't answer them in English, such as at the pool, in the dining room and housekeeping. In any event, the property is fine. My parents were also there and were impressed at the workmanship of things such as moldings on the walls in all the public areas. And the upkeep of the property is excellent. There is a lot of spit and polish here. The decor is nice without being outlandish, which is a good thing if you are concerned that it will be over the top and in your face.

The staff, property, congenial and professional environment is exquisite. The rooms are large, clean and furnished very well. The restaurant and banquet food is excellent. The service from management to entry level is top notch. The employees have a positive attitude, which is contagious. This resort hotel is built around golf, yet non-golfers will thoroughly enjoy the pools, fitness classes, restaurants, and more.

Trump National Doral is one of the finest resorts in the nation. The service is impeccable, the grounds are gorgeous and the food is outstanding. And Ana Eijo is a resort treasure. Eighty years old and a native of Cuba, she is *ALWAYS* upbeat and outgoing. She is a true credit to the resort.

We last stayed in this hotel 12 years ago and were slightly apprehensive as to whether their standards of decoration, maintenance, customer service etc had deteriorated. We need not have worried - in our 5 night stay the quality in ALL areas was good & we would not hesitate to recommend it. We were allocated a top floor room in the Mickleson building with a south facing balcony…. However if we’d had a north facing room this wouldn’t have allowed us to sit in the sun at all! Just one other point - the room was very large and I’m sure at one stage there may have been a comfy chair (or2) between the bed and the TV… if so this would have enabled us to put away the binoculars as we couldn’t read writing on the TV… and the TV was NOT small.
