Fall Wedding 2025

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Goodstone is an absolutely gorgeous venue, which is why I desperately wanted to have my wedding there! The outdoor garden space was so lovely for the ceremony and the pool area was perfect for cocktail hour. I cannot thank the venue staff enough for how beautiful the interior of the conservatory was for the reception, they matched my vision perfectly! Overall, it was an absolutely incredible wedding day and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. Katie, the event manager, did a spectacular job with everything; the day was absolutely perfect and I know that the success of the day was only made possible by her efforts. Jennifer, the sales & catering manager, was instrumental in the booking process along with the nearly 2-year planning process leading up to the big day. Both Katie and Jennifer always responded to our questions with patience and kindness. Everyone has stated how beautiful the grounds were for the outside portions of the wedding, especially with all of the fall decor still set up everywhere. The back garden was easy to navigate with the multiple entry/exit points, which made for smooth photography and event schedule transitions. The guests have also said how wonderful the food & drink was. Even the weather cooperated for our November wedding! I opted to stay at the on-site accommodations for 2 nights (the night before and the night of the wedding), which ended up being a really good idea because the rooms were both stunning and practical for the getting-ready process! My bridesmaids and I also decided to have breakfast at the Bistro that morning, which set us up for success right off the bat. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent! It was truly the most magical day, and I'm so grateful to the entire team at Goodstone for everything that they did to make this all come together. The fall vibes were perfect, the schedule progressed smoothly, the food was excellent, the on-site staff were gracious, and the decorations were arranged beautifully. I truly could not have asked for better.

Corporate disaster dinner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

Our food experience was terrible. Waited in buffet line for 20 minutes due to fact they ran out of food. Roast beef came out rare and not edible. Potatoes were burned and grilled Caesar had no dressing with limp lettuce. Corporate event spent several $100 per person for a totally inedible meal. One bartender for 50 guests. Took 15 minutes for a drink order. Will never return.

5 Star Inn, Best Breakfast I have Ever Had, Good enough Restaurant for Dinner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

It is tough to write this review because I would like to review both the restaurant and the Inn separately, but there does not seem to be a way. So here are two reviews: Goodstone Inn – Loved this place. It is a series of houses scattered across a working farm. We stayed at the Manor House. There were three couples in our group, so we took three of the four bedrooms. All were spacious and well appointed. But we also really enjoyed the dining room area, the living room, the sunroom, the patio and all of the little hidden hallways. Just a perfect place for our group. While on property we also enjoyed the pool for a relaxing afternoon, a walk around the property and the restaurant. More on the restaurant later. Goodstone was a convenient and very scenic drive from downtown Middleburg and a great central location for visiting wineries. I highly recommend staying at the Inn. The Goodstone Restaurant Breakfast. As guests of the Inn, we had breakfast there every morning included in our room rate. That is usually a signal that breakfast will not be very good. Wrong … it was excellent every day. Our group tried everything on the menu over our 4 mornings and loved every item. Two items need to be pointed out. The eggs, no matter how prepared were the best eggs any of us had ever had – fluffy, flavorful and moist. The Smoked and House Cured Salmon on multigrain toast. I have had smoked salmon for breakfast around the world and this was without question the best breakfast salmon dish I have ever tasted. The salmon itself, the egg, cream cheese, the herbs and the onion were mixed and prepared to perfection. The Goodstone Restaurant Dinner: We ate in the restaurant for one of the Bistro Dinners, not the fancy dinners. Excellent lighter fare for our first night in town. Lots of salads at our table, all very good. My wife and I also shared an Herb Chicken which was perfectly prepared. Service seems a bit spotty during the evening. Especially compared to the excellent breakfast service. I would still make the decision to eat one meal here, but if not staying on property, I would not seek it out. Breakfast on the other hand – come from any hotel and experience this on. So, conclusion. I would give the Inn overall 5 stars. I would give the restaurant 5 stars for breakfast. I would give the Bistro restaurant for dinner 3 ½ stars. I guess that leads to a 5 star overall.

Terrible Experience at Goodstone Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed August 28, 2024

I had booked a stay at Goodstone Hotel through hotels.com two months in advance for my partner's birthday, but our experience was nothing short of a disaster. Despite having a confirmed booking, the manager informed us upon arrival that the hotel was fully booked, without even offering an apology. The night before, I called to confirm our reservation and ensure that the restaurant had a table for us. They claimed they couldn't find our booking and asked me to email the confirmation. After doing so, they assured me everything was fine and said they would contact us if there were any issues. They never did. We drove 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there, only to be turned away tired and hungry. Not only did they fail to offer us a drink or any form of compensation, but they also didn't even give us a proper apology for the inconvenience. This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially given the special occasion. I have already spoken to a lawyer and plan to take legal action. I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.
