We stayed for five nights at the Hotel Viu in Milan in early September. The hotel is not in the main tourist zone- but unless you simply must be five steps from the Duomo, that serves as an advantage in that you don't get much tourist traffic and also have a plethora of authentic and comparatively inexpensive restaurants nearby (especially Italian and Asian - Chinatown is virtually at your doorstep). The hotel also has good train access (Monumentale, the closest metro stop is a few minutes away; Porta Giribaldi, one of the main stations, a 10 minute walk; and there are a number of useful trams-- 10, 12, 14) that can get you to most downtown places. The rooms were decently sized (not huge but not tiny), beds and bedding extremely comfortable, and bathrooms well appointed. There is a minibar and, in a nice touch, they come by in the evening to replenish (free) water bottles. The piece de resistance is the open-air rooftop swimming pool that provides a lovely antidote to the piercing Milan heat (and yes it was very hot). We popped in every day for a mid afternoon cooler. Breakfast is served on the rooftop (we did not eat there), but the area operates as a bar later on in the day (excellent drinks, but expensive). The air conditioning was a bit hit or miss (the lobby and many of the public areas were uncomfortably warm at times) but the a/c in the rooms themselves was powerful. They also provide fans if you need additional circulation. *********One thing to be wary of- because of the sleekness of the design, there are tripping hazards: small steps on the floor that aren't differentiated, and glass doors (e.g., in the gym and spa) that look like empty space. My head got badly banged twice, in one case so badly that the glass itself shattered. I'm still giving the hotel a five star rating, but this is something that should be addressed with better signage.***** .

As a titanium member they don’t offer complementary breakfast or the bonus points . They don’t consider it a marriot. Manager of restaurant can easily overcharge you . My room first night air filter was not changed dusty air bothered me. Sunday night concierge could not help me and was busy.. don’t recommend for titanium member customer service is different

In an interesting location 20 mins from the centre but near China town and smaller more local restaurants and shops. Staff were very helpful. The roof top pool was smaller than we expected however it was a pool which is a plus, it did shut at 6pm to allow the area to be used as a bar which was disappointing. Rooms were clean and functional.

A beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms, but the best part is the staff. EVERYONE was so welcoming and kind. Savo was so helpful in coordinating transportation from the airport prior to our arrival. He welcomed us to the hotel with a beaming smile and warm welcome. Monica was right on point with amazing restaurant recommendations that serve authentic cuisine. We look forward to returning soon!!!

Nice hotel in Milano! I’ve stayed few nights during a business trip. The hotel is well located, but you need to walk if going only for the main touristic spots. The rooms are very nice, the staff is very friendly. The gym is good. The breakfast is not the most sumptuous one you can expect for a five star hotel. An option to consider when travelling for business in Milano.
