First time to Milan and couldn’t decide between the Four Seasons, Bulgari or The Mandarin. Definitely think The Mandarin was a very good choice. Excellent location. Set back from the commotion but steps from the high end shopping. La Scala is less than a 10 minute walk and The Vittorio Emmanuel Galleria is less than 15 minutes. It has lovely curb appeal and is not overly large. The staff is wonderful. The front desk is stellar and the concierge is also top notch. Mario and Carlo in particular were beyond fabulous. Well connected and beyond helpful. We were graciously upgraded to a Junior Suite. Very spacious. Very contemporary decor. But a little on the dark side to be completely honest. I would not describe them as bright and happy aesthetically. Our room was a mix of burgundy, beige, grays and black. And the bathroom was very dark with the charcoal/black marble. Very sleek. But despite the lighting. Still felt incredibly dark. Didn’t love that. Aesthetically I found the hotel a bit underwhelming. Despite the bold, dramatic use of color, it still comes off a bit cold. I didn’t look at the furnishings anywhere and feel wowed or impressed. The reception area looked like it could kind of be anywhere. Had a hard time getting a sense of place. The indoor breakfast/light dining area also doubles as the bar/indoor light dining area at night. Just a kind of weird flow. Very colorful and good attempt at trying to have personality. But came off as more of a very high end airport lounge than what it was. The outdoor Garden area was very pretty. Great for drinks, outdoor dining. Service was inconsistent. Never went to the Spa. But heard it is definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. Overall, I am conflicted with my opinion. It was quite good in some respects, but not enough to say I would definitely stay here again or not. Still very glad we tried it.

The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the location is perfect for exploring the city, and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay special. An unforgettable experience! A true oasis in the heart of Milan. Would definitely go back next time we visit this city!

The Mandarin Oriental, Milan is the definition of refined luxury with a stylish Milanese twist. I stayed in a junior suite that perfectly balanced classic elegance with modern comfort—featuring high ceilings, plush textures, and a sense of calm, only steps from the fashion district. The service was flawless and genuinely warm, the spa felt like a hidden oasis, and the bar made one of the best Negronis I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend it to fellow design lovers and discerning travelers. The location makes this property easy to experience the city. I only wish I had stayed longer than one night.

Very bad overall experience; When you are paying €2000 a day, one would expect extremely courteous staff going out of their way to support you. However, the staff here are not only rude but totally unhelpful towards any requests. I requested to stay at mandarin oriental lake Como for one night, to which the staff didn’t find any solution and instead chose to penalise the entire booking. Moreover, the rooms are noisy with the central courtyard playing music until late hours. You are much better off spending your money at four seasons and bulgari, utterly disappointing stay.

The Mandarin Oriental is of course one of the great brands in terms of luxury hotels. But even amongst Mandarin Oriental hotels, I think this is probably the single best one that I have ever stayed at. It was virtually flawless in terms of quality and quality of service. I try not to dig deep into superlatives, but it really was that good. Extremely comfortable, quiet, well situated, great food. And of course, my two favourite things to comment upon: showers and WiFi were both superb. Was it perfect? Well, if I wanted to quibble, then the gym was a little bit small and pokey with limited equipment. And I would have preferred a slightly broader selection at the continental breakfast buffet. But those feel like small criticisms set against a backdrop of quality and luxury. Really great luxury hotel - as you would expect from a Mandarin Oriental.
