We have been coming to this hotel since 1979 and have always appreciated the fantastic location near the Duomo and Rinascenta. The hotel has undergone many facelifts in that time and the friendly and efficient staff have always been accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and we understand that there are going to be technological updates in the not too distant future. Some areas in the hotel have just been renovated and we understand from the new GM that this will continue. The breakfast offerings are substantial, with a mix of Italian and some cereal options available. The pool is a welcome relief, especially on hot summer days. We will continue to stay at this wonderful hotel in the future.

The hotel is clean, comfortable and within walking distance of everything important - for us La Scala, Il Duomo and various galleries/museums. We ate in the restaurant on our first night; the food was good but the portions far too large. The only real downside is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Luckily I had read reviews on Tripadvisor and so went armed with my own teabags, a pint of UHT milk (to put in the minibar once opened) and my own proper sized tea mugs (1 pint). Your own electric appliances are banned, so don't bother taking your own kettle, but if you ask at reception they will provide one and then you are well sorted. The only other thumbs down is that the small bar closes at 11.30 pm, so if you want a drink when you have been to La Scala, you have to walk very very fast to get there before the barman turns into a pumpkin. Having seen a long opera (Norma) we knew we were up against time, so we two elderly pensioners sprinted as soon as the curtain calls were over and managed to get to the bar, order 2 glasses and four bottles of beer, and we were set up for the rest of the evening.

The front desk staff is the face of any hotel and sadly the lack of training and obvious lack of support by management was evident in first few minutes of checkin. The room wasnt ready then it was, then there was an issue with room and then back down stairs and then another 45 minutes while she located her manager and so it went. The front desk staff was not able to verbalize effectively or at all what the issue was and so it went after an hour and well past the afternoon checkin time, we asked to leave our bags and would come back after our appointment. Upon return to the hotel we picked up our key at front desk went to our room. The room was literally almoat 80 degree. We called the front desk and finally after aome time were given a different room...Room #3 and well folks the room wasnt much cooler. We asked if they coukd adjust at front desk and that was a hard no! We asked for a fan also a hard no as it was a "security issue"? in addition the design of room was bizarre and needed some updating, very worn, bathroom toilet leaked making the floor slippery and unsafe and the towel rack was located above the bidet, so you hit your head if used the bidet. Also, poor design choice and a bit unsanitary. The only saving grace for this hotel was the pool. I suggest the management do a better job at training its employees and perhaps work to update the rooms and make sure facilities are operating properly. I would also like to add that I was always kind courteous and respectful to all. Unfortunately, it wasnt always returned in the same manner. A smile goes a long way

Sina De La Ville is truly a lovely hotel. The room was clean and the staff were gracious. The location cannot be beat with walking distance to the Duomo and the Pinoteca Ambrosiana Museo. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
