Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price at All I stayed at Rosa Grand Milano expecting a premium experience given the extremely high nightly rate, but what I encountered was far below acceptable, let alone luxury standards. From the moment we arrived, the service was cold and unwelcoming. The concierge was not helpful at all—never smiled, never offered any assistance, and acted like every question was a burden. The rest of the staff followed the same pattern—zero hospitality, no warmth, and certainly not the kind of service you expect from a supposedly upscale hotel. Breakfast was another major letdown. The quality was shockingly poor, with very limited options. Want an egg or just a few slices of cucumber? That’ll cost you extra. It felt more like a cheap motel than a luxury hotel. Cleanliness was also a huge issue. The rooms were not maintained to a high standard, with dusty surfaces and an overall lack of care. To make things worse, there wasn’t even an iron available for guests—not in the room, not on request. For a hotel charging this much, it’s unacceptable. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, and In Milan too and this was by far one of the worst experiences in terms of value for money. I absolutely do not recommend Rosa Grand Milano—overpriced, unfriendly, and underwhelming in every way. Avoid it.

We stayed three nights at this hotel as part of a travel package. We had upgraded our room (additional $150 per might) by email to get a room overlooking the piazza entrance. Check-in was relatively quick, involving short 3-4 person lines. However, the desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and immaculate. We were greeted with a bottle of chilled champagne, likely not part of the tour package. The room included a coffee maker and complimentary water. There was adequate space to open luggage. Food and beverage service were excellent. Several restaurants are available, from “fine dining” to pizza. Prices were reasonable. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Duomo, the Galleria, and the Basilica of St Stephen. Other attractions, e.g., the Last Supper painting will require transportation. Milan has a good metro service which we used on a purchased tour. We generally used a taxi and prices for this were reasonable. The only cautionary note with respect to the hotel is that the fitness center is currently undergoing work and is unavailable.

I stayed at Rosa Grand Duomo Hotel from July 16 to 19, 2025. The hotel is very strategically located right in the heart of the Duomo shopping district, just steps away from the iconic Duomo Cathedral. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants and shops, and it's only a short walk to Starbucks Reserve and Carrefour Express. There was a slight issue during check-in: although we had booked 4 rooms, one of the rooms wasn’t ready until around 4:30 PM, and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. The room itself was very clean and tidy. The bathroom featured a bathtub, and the bedroom was equipped with a small fridge, an electric kettle, and two bottles of complimentary mineral water. The space was quite generous compared to the average hotel room size in Milan. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety, but the highlight was definitely the pastries and bread selection—both in variety and exceptional taste. If you're visiting Milan and looking for a convenient, enjoyable stay close to shopping and cultural landmarks, this hotel is definitely a top choice.

We stayed at Rosa Grande for 4 nights. Two ‘on our on’ and two as a part of a Uniworld prestay. We loved the location which was a block from the Duomo with restaurants and shops close by. Taxis were always available and we were able to quickly get one for our cooking class and to the train station. The room was nice and the size expected. The bathroom was well appointed. We had a tub/shower combo. Some rooms had a walk in shower. The hotel was obviously made up of multiple buildings with a maze of hallways and ramps from one building to another. A bit strange but workable. I would definitely choose this place again.

The location, 5 minutes walk to Duomo is excellent, but I’m afraid the positives end there. I’m currently staying here whilst on a business trip to Milan. It is apparently a 4 star property, but I’m struggling to see how. The hotel apparently had a refurbishment back in 2009, but I’d suggest that bedrooms especially (a long, long walk from reception along endless corridors) are already overdue for another one. Let’s begin - The bell boy asked to take my case on arrival, and then it was a long 35 minutes for it to arrive - and only after two phone calls to reception. Reception was efficient, but not overly warm. This was also mirrored in the service throughout the hotel. Public areas are somewhat stark and sterile. The hotel boasts “the most beautiful view in Milan” but I have yet to see it. And all I can see from my small double room is air conditioning ducts. On the subject of air conditioning - it is LOUD. Also, the air conditioner itself (hidden by a wooden surround) was dirty. My bedroom, as I’ve already mentioned, is small. Chunky furnishings don’t help with this. The bed at least is comfortable, and housekeeping to a reasonable standard. BUT - there is nowhere to plug anything in! Don’t expect sockets by your bed to charge a phone, or indeed anywhere else! Light switches are bewildering too. The wardrobe comes with helpful interior lights which I found impossible to turn off - so I could sleep in the dark. As others have mentioned, breakfast, in a windowless room, was somehow bleak. Yes, there is a plentiful selection, but the quality is poor. Even the coffee (in Italy!!) wasn’t great. I’m one day in to a five night stay, and already wishing I’d booked somewhere else.
