Reviews for The Westin Palace, Milan

Super cool hotel with very well trained staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Location: Top location. 5 mins cab from the Central Station, 8 mins cab or tram (15 mins walk) to the tourist area. Check in: Quick check in. Was upgraded to an executive suite using my platinum nightly benefit. Shiraz at the front desk is top notch, very helpful, smiling and quick. Fulfilling everything we had asked for. An extra bed was placed in our room in 7 mins. Breakfast: Excellent breakfast with a lot of options. I had fresh carrots juice every day with an option to order from the Ala carte menu (for platinum members). Loved the breads, cheese and the honeycomb. Suite: The executive suite is an experience in itself. It has a steam room, 2 showers and ample space. Unlike other suites, it’s just one big room. The bed is amazing with very good quality pillows. The views are spectacular.

Extremely Disappointing Stay at Westin Palace Milan (Platinum Member)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stay at Westin properties frequently and have been a loyal Platinum member for years, but my experience at Westin Palace Milan was genuinely the worst I’ve ever had with the brand. At check-in, I was told I received a complimentary Platinum upgrade to a “larger” room. That turned out to be completely misleading. The room was small, dated, and felt old, with worn furniture and a tired layout. What made it worse is that my friend—also a Platinum member—received a true upgrade to a much larger and better room. The inconsistency and lack of transparency were extremely frustrating. The bathroom situation was unacceptable. The toilet water ran nonstop, and there was a persistent sewer odor that lasted all 4 nights. This is not a minor issue—this is something that should never happen in any hotel, let alone one charging nearly $400 per night. The service was equally disappointing. The staff were unfriendly, indifferent, and lacked professionalism throughout the stay. No warmth, no effort to resolve problems, no sense of hospitality. As a frequent Marriott guest, this felt far below brand standards. For a property in a major city like Milan—and for the price I paid—this stay was an absolute waste of money. I left feeling genuinely let down by both the hotel and the Westin brand. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially loyal Marriott members expecting consistency and quality.

Enjoyable Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Enjoyable stay during Fashion Week--Great service--dined one night in the bar (a bit noisy but great food) and onsite breakfast was fantastic. Room was comfortable and quiet. Easy "jumping off" spot for heading out into the city. Only negative was that the "workout room" was just a converted hotel room which was surprising considering the quality of the hotel. Overall great stay and will no doubt return.

don't waste your money on this place

Arrived late. $1,000 room and - The air conditioner did not work, the tv did not work. Maintenance came at 10 pm and spent 1 hour working on things, when I needed to be asleep. A/C still didn't work, room was hot all night, couldn't sleep, and they still made me pay $500 for the room that was worth $0. Property is worn out and in need of a reno. Don't waste your money on this place.

Would stay here again

It was a lovey hotel with the great rooms, the bar/restaurant was great for cocktails and dinner or snacks. Location was ideal and the breakfast included was a welcomed easy morning perk. Our room was well appointed and I would stay there again.
