WARNING! This is not a conference-friendly facility. The primary issue we had was front desk staff training, inattention, rude behavior, and stonewalling. My stay was with a group of colleagues. We were instructed by our client that a business account credit card was on file to pay for all of our rooms and we were to handle payment this way. Upon checkout, I was told the room charge could not be paid with the client credit card because I did not know the card number, which they had on file. After some debate with the front desk clerk, I was told I was personally responsible for the costs, over $2000. My male colleagues who checked out after me, and also did not know the card number, had no problem at check-out and the rooms were paid through the appropriate account. After bringing this to the attention of the management, I was ignored for 5 days while they “reviewed” the situation. At the end, they argued that although my colleagues were allowed to use the business credit card on file and I was not, they still handled it correctly, which makes no sense. In terms of the facility, the conference room had a strange sewer smell which made 3 long days unbearable. The maintenance staff acknowledged there is a problem causing the smell but said there is nothing the facility can do. This hotel is grossly inappropriate for business or personal use. Avoid it at all costs.

I stayed at The Westin Palace, Milan for one night during the third week of April 2026 and overall had a very good experience, with one notable exception. As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite member, I used a Nightly Upgrade Award and requested a one-bedroom suite. The upgrade was honored, although the suite consisted of two connected corner rooms (729 and 730) rather than a traditional suite. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. A pleasant surprise was the well-stocked mini-fridge in both rooms, which included complimentary soft drinks and bottled water. We also requested a roll-away bed, and the hotel arranged it promptly without any issues. The responsiveness of the staff was appreciated. The hotel's location is one of its greatest strengths. It is conveniently located near Milano Centrale railway station and within approximately one kilometer of the Duomo di Milano, making it easy to explore the city on foot or by public transportation. A special thank you to Ms. A at the concierge desk. She was exceptionally helpful and provided excellent recommendations on how to navigate the city efficiently, avoid crowds, and make the most of our limited time in Milan. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was disappointing and felt out of sync with the otherwise high standards of the property. The hotel does not have an executive lounge, so complimentary breakfast benefits are provided through the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were seated in an isolated section away from the main dining and food stations, which felt awkward. Despite informing the hostess that breakfast was complimentary as part of our elite benefits, we were later charged €70. The service was also slow. We ordered two omelets, and the wait was unusually long. The restaurant appeared understaffed or poorly coordinated, and overall service felt disorganized. Fortunately, when we completed a late checkout, the breakfast charges were removed, which corrected the billing issue. Overall, The Westin Palace, Milan is an elegant property with an excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding concierge service. The suite upgrade, complimentary in-room refreshments, and attentive hotel staff made for a pleasant stay. However, the restaurant operation and breakfast experience fell short of expectations and could benefit from significant improvement. With better execution in the restaurant, this would easily be a five-star experience.

As a Lifetime Member with Marriott, everyone knows a Westin is going to be reliable and consistent anywhere in the world. I booked The Westin Milan Palace not even thinking twice because I know I have never been let down by a Westin before. I hate to even write this review because the staff was lovely and friendly but the issues I had for my one week stay was disappointing at the least. My original rooms hotel didn't work, maintenance came and still it was blowing warm air. My best friend and I were there celebrating our 40th and 50th birthdays in Milan and booked a two twin size bed rooms. Based on the pictures on the website, it looked fine. When we got to the room the two twins were basically a King size bed separated with no space, not even 1mm in between. It was clearly false advertising in the website. I went downstairs and nicely mentioned that it was not what we booked and the front desk girl told us that in Europe this is how the two twins are unlike in America where rooms are bigger. That is simply not true at all. Look at the website and you can see there is at leas a few inches between the bed. As grown women, we decided to just book another room for her since the bed situation was a little uncomfortable. An expense we did not expect. They moved me into another room which the AC finally worked but that room's bathroom smelled like a sewer and I hadn't even used the bathroom yet! I sprayed room spray bought at a nearby DM store and lived with it the rest of the week. That wasn't even the worst part. There was construction going on day and night, from 5:30AM to midnight the sound of furniture moving was so loud and disrupted any sleep I could muster. I texted down to the front desk and they sent security up to my room and I was told there was no construction going on. My friend on another floor hear the same noises day and night. If there was no construction going on then this hotel might be HAUNTED because it was seriously day and night! The sound of chairs loudly being dragged from one room to another. I can go on about the other minor disruptions I experienced but I feel these issues above is enough for someone to reconsider staying at this hotel. I am sorry, Westin Palace but your hotel definitely needs some looking at and some help. The hotel’s response from from Alessandra Pagano the General Manager, perfectly mirrored the stay itself. Polished on the surface, disappointing in substance. As a Lifetime Marriott guest, I expected at least a symbolic effort to make things right and instead I received a beautifully worded generic "Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences". The insincerity of that email made me write this review.
