Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis

The staff is lovely, the gym is incredible, and the linens (sheets, towels and pillows) are nicer than average. However, this is a far cry from luxury. There is no concierge on property, the room decor and amenities are questionable (an actual closet? slippers? the tiny fridge drawer?), and housekeeping isn't great (definitely don't expect turn down service. And one day, we left our room at 12:30 pm and returned at 9;30 pm and our room was never cleaned). Other than the gym, overall it is just OK, and at these "luxury" rates, you definitely expect more.

This is a nice hotel and I had high expectations to stay here. The room was lovely decorated and the staff was nice but sadly the bed was so uncomfortable and hard that I could not sleep. Not at all the experience I have had at other luxury hotels.

I wanted a luxury experience for my birthday. I wanted to not lift a finger for the full weekend. Hotel Ivy SEEMED to fit the bill. As soon as I entered the room I started looking around. It was a beautiful room but there was some wear to the room such as scratches, scraps and things to walls and furniture, some rust in the shower. Nothing too crazy but noticeable. Then I opened the beverage fridge. There was a USED half empty bottle of Chardonnay in one of the slots. I called to let them know and they said they’ll make a note of it. Didn’t offer to replace it, didn’t apologize for their being someone’s used drink in my fridge…just that they’d make a note of it. Later I needed to call again to let them know my only outlet by my bed stand was non functional. I will say even though this was annoying maintenance came up within minutes to fix it. When I went to shower, I used one of the bath robes supplied… there was a gaping hole in the collar. The next morning was my birthday. I attempted to use the text to order feature but 2 mins later I got a text saying “please order by calling the front desk-Trissa”who in the world is Trissa?? There was no title with the name just trissa. And whyyy have the option to text in your order if that option is not an actual option?! Anyway I ordered breakfast and it came about 35 mins later. When it arrived there were items missing. Namely the mixed berry compote to my pancakes and the chives on my omelette. I called to have them brought up and the front desk clerk said that was something that I needed to clarify that I wanted and those things did not automatically come with the meals I ordered…. But it was literally in the description of the meals. I didn’t specifically ask for potatoes with my omelette but it was in the description and was brought with it… I didn’t ask for maple syrup or butter for my pancakes but it was brought up because it’s was IN THE DESCRIPTION. ANYWAY lastly I booked a 80 min spa session. Wonderfully done but unfortunately the WHOLE time there was city sounds( cars honking, sirens going off, construction) that kept taking me out of the experience. I truly don’t know who decided to place what was supposed to be a relaxing room by the exterior wall to downtown Minneapolis but that was poor planning. All in all I spent 1450 for two nights and and 80 min massage. Now was it awful? Absolutely not! But was it Rent money good??? NO! I would have had the same experience at the Hyatt down the street for 1000 less and I truly do not think I could recommend it for anyone looking for that luxury experience.

We stayed on 19th floor for three nights in July 2026. Room was fine EXCEPT that hot water in bathroom was out of control. Scalding hot water with virtually no cool water to make it bearable. Why stay at a luxury property where your showers or baths (we tried both) become birdbaths at the sink. We reported this to front desk twice and by text. Never fixed. We discussed with others on 19th floor in elevator. Same issue. One positive: Kourtney in downstairs bar/breakfast. Helpful, engaging, great attitude.

I stayed in Hotel Ivy when I visited twin city last month. This hotel is located in Minneapolis downtown, and it has beautiful hotel room with spacious bathroom. I love the decoration and design of this hotel. The restaurant is gorgeous, I had breakfast as well as lunch, and the food quality never disappoints me. The staff is super nice, and they know how to listen to my needs and react properly.
