Il Castelfalfi

Castelfalfi was outstanding. Beautiful, incredible sunsets, every thoughtful amenity and consideration was taken. The food was great and the breakfast was incredible...a must. Music on the patio with unreal sunsets...perfect.

Castelfalfi really delivers in the majority of ways a traveller wishes a dream hotel to be! Great location, perfectly clean and elegant, great service and modern facilities in a historical village setting. It was as amazing experience and one we would love to return soon. This is the way to restore and run an historical place!! However there are some problems that I believe that can and should be fixed. As minor as they are they just gave me a bitter taste that is totally unnecessary: - the breakfast. Same basics are just not there. There is no plain greek yogurt for example and the yogurt brand available is just not good at all. The eggs are not particularly interesting neither salad ingredients and overall there is too much sweets and pastries and lack of healthier options. It is the same everyday and it was a letdown to be honest. Sometimes the outside tables and chairs are wet in the early morning and staff doesn't adress that. Overall the service at the breakfast is just not that attentive. - car parking. There is no shade so the cars are blazingly hot everytime!! - restaurants. There should be an all-day burger or pizza service available not just at the room service! By the way the Ecru restaurant seems weird as it functions as a hallway to outside and is the main way get to the pool area. Feels strange. - bath amenities. Stefano Ricci bath amenities didn't feel good enough for the resort standards. They come across very chemical and perfumy heavy but not as nice quality as other standard brands. I didn't like them and would totally replace them. - value services. Most the services in the property feel overpriced and some of them could even be free, for instance normal bikes and some kind of activities. Now to finnish some really high quality points that really impressed me: - halls and carpets were very elegant with opulent nice scent diffusors and pristine clean light carpets. - amazing bed sheets. - amazing cocktails everywhere. - Il Rosmarino restaurant serves superb pastas and salads. The Italian food there was really impressive! - nice mosquitoes nets everywhere and no bug was found inside. - amazing huge and clean main pool with nice decor and plenty of space and confortable sunbeds. Just the outdoor pool perfection setting!! And the service was also perfect there. - great spa amenities; although more attention should be giving to teas and snacks there (maybe some porcelain mugs). - amazing gym. - the staff was overall very nice especially concierge and reception staff!! - live music with very talented singers most of the days!

We had a relaxing 3-night stay at Castelfalfi with our toddler and really enjoyed it. Everyone we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. We had some great meals at all three of the restaurants that were open during our stay, and the breakfast buffet was very impressive. We also did the truffle hunting excursion and meal, which was a lot of fun, and the beef tartare with truffle at Olivina was outstanding. We spent the bulk of our days by the pool, and while our son wasn’t quite ready for us to leave him at the kids club, we did spend some time in there with him and thought it was a solid space. Overall, we were really impressed with Castelfalfi. I can easily see how it works for families, couples or even biz trips. They cover a lot of ground without it feeling like they’re trying to be too many things at once. It’s a great spot, and we really enjoyed our time there. Also, the pics you see online honestly don’t do the property or the views of Tuscany justice. It’s even more beautiful in person. For context, we stayed at Reschio a few years ago, which is also an incredible property, but they no longer allow young children. Castelfalfi felt like a great new find for us during this chapter of life, and somewhere we’d happily come back to.

Listen to me when I say- this is the best hotel in the world in every category you can imagine! I travelled to all the top 5 star hotels in Tuscany but this is whole other level! Exceptional and the kindest staff ever! Delicious and top quality food! Amazing rooms! Kindness to families with children! Their heart and love is all over this hotel- from the wonderful people who work here, to the most beautiful facility possible! There is not one detail they forget in the making of the most perfect vacation! We come back year after year! It’s a dream come true! They say in Italian “once upon a time in Castelfalfi…” and this is the most accurate description to this magical and exceptional place!

While our stay was only two nights, we were there long enough to understand how special this place is. It offers a highly refined version of what Tuscany represents. Service 10/10; Location 10/10; Facilities 10/10; Food 10/10 (outstanding for breakfast, lunch and dinner); on-site activities 10/10 (i.e. wine and olive oil tasting, Adventure Park); Uniqueness 10/10 (i.e. 1000 year old castle). I can't say enough good things about our experience.
