There is honestly nothing at all I can say about this beautiful place except the highest of praises. From the staff, to the rooms, the amenities. The FOOD…. the pool area. The golf, the atmosphere on an evening sitting out with a negroni playing backgammon and listening to a wonderful saxophonist. In all ways a hotel should be this place is as special as it gets. 10* from me.

I first discovered Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco when my travel agent posted it on his Instagram account. It looked so fabulous that one day I said I wanted to go there. When you look at their amazing website and see the landscape of the Tuscan hills it will be make you realize not many luxury hotels in the world can compare to it. We were celebrating a special occasion with my family and I booked the hotel a year in advance. I always write the Manager before I come to a new hotel to introduce myself before arriving. The correspondence that I received from Nicola Migheli- the Managing Director and Amanda Mack his Personal Assistant was the most thoughtful I have ever received in all my travels to luxury hotels. I knew then that this stay was going to be so memorable and special. They both won the “Grand Prize” for such a lovely response to my email! In the email Nicola wrote to me: “I would truly be honored if you wished to share a little more with me about yourself and the family members joining this beautiful journey. For us, this is always the best way to thoughtfully prepare an arrival exactly as we love to do at CdB, with personalized touches, special attentions and small surprises that can make a stay feel even more meaningful and memorable.” That is exactly what they did, there were so many thoughtful surprises and personal touches for us. It was truly something I have never experienced before. When you drive up the roads to the hotel nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany it will take your breath away. It has to be some of the most magnificent scenery you will ever see. I wrote the hotel in advance of my stay and the guest relations team planned our restaurant reservations and suggested activities. They were responsive and provided great detail. Every morning we had a leisurely breakfast on the terrace at their restaurant Ristorante Campo del Drago with views of Montalcino’s lush hills and Val d’Orcia. There was an extensive delicious buffet and also a la carte options. My husband thought it was the best breakfast of our three week journey through Italy. The croissants and pastries were the best we ever had. The waiters were so attentive providing great service. We ate outdoors at the hotel’s main restaurant Osteria La Canonica four nights. It was a beautiful festive atmosphere with wonderfully prepared food including pastas, steaks, fish, salads , pizza and fabulous desserts. Their chefs are so talented. Not only was it all delicious but the presentations were also lovely. The service was outstanding. We had booked the spacious Borgo Suites with Tuscan-inspired interiors and sophisticated Italian furnishings. The one-bedroom Borgo Suite has a huge separate living area and separate bedroom. The bathrooms were luxurious with a walk-in rain shower and separate soaking bathtub. There is also an additional powder room at the entrance of the suite. The shampoos and amenities were all divine. There were two large televisions in the suite. The suite was also adorned with beautiful accessories and ornaments throughout. All the drinks and treats ( including chocolates, cookies , snacks etc) are all complimentary in the suite. That is truly a special feature they offer. There are two large swimming pools and one is adults only with magnificent views of the Tuscan Hills. They both have a great bar and restaurant for lunch with delicious food. Housekeeping cleaned our suites to perfection twice a day. Every day we found lovely gifts and treats in our suite. Some of my family members loved using the e-bikes to ride on the property which is 5,000 acres. They also had a wine tasting at their famous Winery on the property. The hotel offers so many activities that can keep you busy for weeks! The hotel is about 20 minutes away from the lovely village of Montalcino which we enjoyed walking the town, visiting the shops and went to dinner there one evening. Be sure to have a treatment at their beautiful spa . My husband and I had Facials and their therapists were fabulous. I recommend booking in advance. How do I sum up our 5 night stay at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco? If you are looking for a magnificent resort in Italy with breathtaking views, set amid the picturesque Tuscan countryside , gorgeous accommodations, delicious dining options, extraordinary attentive service then you must come! It is truly Magical and Paradise! It is absolutely one of my favorite hotels in our 45 years of staying at luxury hotels throughout the world! Thank you Nicola and Amanda for all you did for our family to make us feel like royalty. Rosewood is sure lucky to have both of them representing the hotel. My 11 year old grandson even said it was his favorite hotel of our three week Italy journey. The hotel has won so many awards including- Number 1 Best Resort in Europe and Number 1 in Italy by Travel and Leisure Magazine, earning 3 Michelin Keys from the Michelin Guide, and also holding a 5-Star Rating from the Forbes Travel Guide. We will have memories that will last a lifetime! We can’t wait to come back! Rosewood CdB is easily one of the prettiest places I’ve ever stayed. The views are unreal, the food and wine were amazing every single day, and the staff really went out of their way to take care of us. Also, if you play tennis, definitely book a hit with coach Francesco Pace. He kept the drills energetic and fun. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay or a better hit in Tuscany!

Just a simple question at the reception gives us a dissatisfaction. The arrogance of the youngmen who was not willing to help us was below any point. Because we where just passing by. Never judge the book by his cover… that’s the reason we skipping also the restaurant.

Absolutely spectacular. Service was amazing. Tennis Pro Francesco was wonderful with our children.
