Half Moon

We had the most enjoyable and memorable family vacation thanks to the incredible staff at Half Moon. We were so lucky to have two amazing Butlers- Dean and Eilian who provided absolute incredible service and handled all of our accommodations at the property. Always responsive and made sure our stay was super comfortable from beginning to end. Meshell provided the best pool service at Eclipse, catering to the whole family to make sure everyone stayed hydrated and fed. She is a lovely person! Our suite was exquisite, well maintained and perfect size for a family. I highly recommend staying at Half Moon- you won’t receive comparable service anywhere else in Jamaica!

Where to start? Half Moon is simply AMAZING! It might be actually be the perfect resort. My husband and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary there and spent 5 days, 4 nights in Eclipse’s Estate Ocean Room. It was a beautiful room with a large wraparound balcony. It had a great view of the ocean and was very quiet and relaxing. The hammock was great to sit in at night and listen to the ocean. Our main Butler was very helpful and accommodating! Michelle from North Pointe at the pool was also wonderful. We LOVED this trip and the staff at Half Moon so much. We received a lovely anniversary card in our room when we arrived. We also received a beautiful complimentary (and tasty) anniversary cake. The resort really is perfect in our opinion. It isn’t too big or overcrowded. It’s the perfect size. One of my favorite aspects of the layout was how close the beach was from the pool. It was a very short walk from the pool to the ocean! This is not always the case and it was a very welcome design choice (no long boardwalk treks in heat). I found many beautiful and unique seashells on the beach. The water was warm without being hot. The breeze was a welcome way to stay cool in the 85 degree weather. The sunsets were incredible from the beach and the pool. We LOVED this resort and plan to return within the year which is saying a lot because we rarely visit the same place twice! The food was great at all the restaurants and bars we visited. Service was always prompt and friendly. My husband and I can’t wait to return to your beautiful resort!

Our stay at Half Moon was fantastic. The room was beautiful, clean with lots of amenities and the staff friendly and helpful. The food was great. We ate at Delmare the first night and it was sooo good. Big buffet in the morning that we ate each day. I got a massage from Sophia one afternoon. it was one of the best massages I've ever had. We sat by the pool daily and the staff served us drinks and lunch and were very attentive. I highly recommend this resort. It is a paradise!! I can't wait to go back.

We have been coming to Half Moon in Rose Hall, Montego Bay since 2017, and as a family since 2018, and our most recent seven-day stay reminded us all over again why we keep returning to our home away from home. On paper, Half Moon is everything a 5-star property should be. Spread across 400 beautiful acres, it offers pristine white-sand beaches, immaculate landscaping, and a thoughtful architectural layout that makes a world-class resort feel relaxed and intimate. The property never feels crowded. You can golf, play tennis, enjoy the gym, treat yourself to an outstanding spa (thank you Primrose and Pauline for the massages), or simply lie on the beach with fresh coconut water in hand, courtesy of Delroy. The dining is exceptional from sunrise to sunset, from Chef Paul’s cornmeal porridge and ackee and saltfish at Hayward’s to world-class dinners prepared by Chef Christopher Golding, who makes a point of personally greeting every guest. Spice and North Pointe keep the authentic Jamaican rum punch flowing, with the occasional Guinness. Our heartfelt thanks to the teams at Hayward’s, North Pointe, Spice, and Lester’s, who looked after us beautifully from the first meal to the last after-dinner drink. But here is what we have learned over the years. Half Moon’s real magic is not the landscape, the beaches, or the architecture, as spectacular as they all are. The magic is the people, and they are the true differentiator. It starts before you arrive, with Mona in reservations and Carol in concierge anticipating every preference, and continues the moment Patrick collects you at the airport. The Bell team (Paul, Orando, Fitzgerald, Ralston, Watson, Omar, and Bryon) makes your luggage disappear and hands you a welcome rum punch. Check-in with Stacy-Ann and Nadia is all hugs and smiles, and our family welcome photo on the lawn has become a tradition. Our butlers Dean, Brenton, and Elian arrange something special every visit. One small story says it all: the team at Hayward’s knows we are mint tea drinkers, so Joy, entirely on her own, checked our arrival date and picked fresh bush peppermint from her garden, enough to last our whole trip, before we ever said a word. That is who these people are. This stay carried extra meaning. After Hurricane Melissa, we returned to find Eclipse and the Villas at Half Moon not just recovered, but better than ever. Having seen firsthand how this staff rallied around one another and around their wider community in the aftermath, we can tell you the warmth you feel here is not a job requirement. It is simply who they are. This trip we also brought our autistic daughter for the first time, and the Half Moon family essentially adopted her, meeting her with patience, hugs, and genuine respect at every turn. We will never forget it. If you are looking for a luxury Jamaican escape where the property is stunning and the people make you feel like family, this is it. There is no other hotel like Half Moon.
