Half Moon

Unfortunately, my experience at Half Moon did not live up to my expectations. When I arrived for check-in, my room was not ready. The front desk told me there was an issue with the AC in the room. I asked to be moved to another room, but I still had to wait a significant amount of time before I was able to get settled. After traveling, this was a frustrating way to begin my stay. I was also disappointed with the food quality during my stay. For a resort of this caliber, I expected the dining experience to be much better. The biggest issue, however, was an additional property/resort fee. I booked and paid for my stay through Expedia, and my reservation showed that taxes and fees had already been paid. I was not made aware by Expedia prior to my arrival that I would be charged an additional mandatory resort fee. I was surprised with this charge when I arrived at the property. I paid the fee because I was already at the resort with a confirmed reservation and had no practical option at that point. I subsequently contacted Expedia and Half Moon to request a refund. Half Moon refused to refund the additional fee, despite the fact that I had not been informed of it prior to arriving. Overall, between the delayed check-in due to the room/AC issue, disappointing food, and unexpected additional fee that was ultimately not refunded, I left feeling that the experience did not justify the cost of the stay. I hope Half Moon and Expedia improve the transparency around additional mandatory fees so guests know the true total cost of their stay before they arrive.

Excellent property. Everyone no matter their position were very friendly. They made us feel that they appreciated our being there. The atmosphere was welcoming and very relaxing. We would definitely stay here again. Beach BBQ was spectacular.

We had an incredible stay at Half Moon in Jamaica. The resort is beautifully maintained, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit special. The food, amenities, and beachfront location were outstanding. We can't wait to return!

As incredible as the resort itself is, the staff truly made this experience magical. Whether it was house keeping, the bar staff, the restaurants, the bellman, or the front desk, everybody had a smile and made us feel incredibly welcomed.

My husband and I visited Half Moon for the second time, and it was fabulous. The hospitality is unmatched—be sure to request Elian and Dean! Half Moon is such a special place, not only because of the gorgeous accommodations and views, but the staff are just so wonderful. We love it here and hope to be back very soon!
