At L'AND Vineyards, everything revolves around the pleasures of the vine: 6 hectares/15 acres of organic vineyards and the possibility of taking oenology courses, or creating your own bottles with labels that grace your own name, all thanks to the Wine Club. At Mapa restaurant, cuisine is elevated to the level of a universal language, celebrating the fusion of culinary cultures born from the numerous sea voyages of the Portuguese. This is a journey conducted to the rhythm of exceptional wines, some of which are produced in the property's own vineyards. The oenological experience continues at the vinotherapy spa in which some of the treatments are grape-based. Surrounded by vines, an outdoor infinity pool seems to extend into the waters of the lake. Ideal for relaxing, this family property is particularly appreciated by wine lovers as well as fans of the countryside and architecture. The castle of Montemor o Novo is within sight, and Evora, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only about twenty minutes away. Discover an original and sensory way to explore Portugal.

I had high hopes for the LAND Vineyard Hotel based on its advertised reputation, but our stay on Tuesday, 29th July was hugely disappointing from start to finish. On arrival, our suite was visibly dirty—surfaces in the bedroom, bathroom, and WC were stained and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. When I reported this via the hotel’s WhatsApp service, I was told housekeeping was “already aware” of the stains but that they “wouldn’t come off.” No one followed up, and no attempt was made to clean them. I ended up cleaning the room myself, which is not something you expect to do in a supposedly premium hotel. The curtains had come off their rails, leaving a large gap that let in daylight at dawn and disrupted our sleep. Turndown service knocked on our door at 9:45pm when we were already in bed—again showing a lack of attention to guest experience. Breakfast was another letdown. There were too few seats, and the hot menu was almost entirely egg-based. Since my husband is allergic to eggs, his options were practically nonexistent. We asked repeatedly for tea and coffee but waited over 30 minutes and never received them. We left the restaurant completely frustrated. After this string of issues, we chose to cancel our second night and move to another hotel that, thankfully, knew how to treat its guests. Having worked in the travel industry for over four decades, I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. The hotel failed on cleanliness, service, communication, and management oversight. I cannot recommend it and would advise future guests to look elsewhere.

L'and Vineyars is a fantastic concept. The architects clearly went out of their way to build a lovely property and offer a relaxing spot in the middle of Alentejo, with magnificent views to the city and castle. However, it fails in execution in multiple aspects. Everyone in our family felt the stay was below our expectations (even the kids!), especially when you compare with the hotels we stayed at right before and after (Epic Sana Algarve and Octant Douro). The rooms are large but are not well kept / cleaned. There is a funny smell around the hotel grounds. Our family was separated into 2 rooms distant from each other (the checkin person said "1 min walk" but my Health app actually considered it a "walk" whenever I went back and forth between the 2!). We arrived after checkin time and the rooms were not ready - we were not even offered and apology or a small token. In the bedroom, there was a menu where we read "complimentary tea by the pool at 5 pm". We arrived and it was poorly setup, basically it was cold tea in large jars and some grapes. We ordered from the menu toasts with butter for the kids, and they took ages to bring them. "Café de Viagem" has a poorly chosen menu, without consideration to the local roots, food is average at best and chairs are uncomfortable. The hotel does not try to cater to the needs of children at all. Breakfast was good, but eggs took forever to arrive and came not properly cooked. The swimming pool has little space for guests and we could not find any chairs. Overall, we left with zero willingness to come back, even though it is a beautiful property. Definitely not 5 stars service.

We stayed for one night and absolutely loved our experience. The hotel grounds are expansive, clean, and beautifully maintained. Check-in was very smooth, Miguel at the front desk was friendly, professional, and took the time to show us around the hotel. He also arranged a late check-out for us, which was perfect! Big thanks to him for both check-in and check-out. In the room, we were welcomed with a personalized bottle of wine, a lovely dessert and fruit bowl, beautiful summer hats, and fresh flowers picked from their own garden. Such thoughtful touches made our stay feel truly special. Breakfast was amazing. There weren’t too many options, but everything offered was of high quality and just the right amount. My boyfriend ordered the Eggs Benedict and said it was one of the best he’s ever had, we highly recommend it! The view from the breakfast area is absolutely dreamy. At check-out, we were gifted a jar of the hotel’s own honey, a lovely and memorable gesture. This is a beautiful, sustainable hotel, and we’re so glad we made the drive from Porto. As for the cons: the property is a bit old. Some of the furniture is scratched and clearly not new. However, the exceptional level of customer service more than made up for that. We truly hope to return!

We stopped here to charge our Tesla and considered booking a stay on our way back as I remebered this place as beautiful last time we chrged here. We had a look and our daughter started checking availability online. As we went inside we met extremely little welcoming behaviour. This is the first time we have ever experienced this at a charging place. A staff member actually stayed by the door to qick us out like we were criminals. We were not welcome to eat in the restaurant and it was even impossible to by winebottles I remember we bought here a few yeahs ago. Extremely rude and primitive. There are plenty of supercharging places at a much higher level that this place. Wonder what they think they are. This is a place to stay away from.

I stayed here for a long weekend with my partner and we both loved the location and the amenities available. The spa treatments, food & wine experiences were very enjoyable. After reading other reviews complaining of the upkeep of the hotel, we had the opposite experience. Our room had no issues and everything worked as it should have. My only complaint of the room is that when they replaced the coffee pods each day, they kept replacing them with decaf pods and not any of the caffeinated ones that we were clearly using. The location and architecture was really beautiful. However, it felt more style than substance. The place lacked soul and personality and I believe a lot of this is down to the service. There seemed to be an abundance of servers, especially around the downstairs restaurant and bar, but none of them seemed to know what they were doing. At lunch times, the most tables they would have to wait on would be 4 max (most of them tables of 2) and there were around 4-5 servers. For that amount of staff for so little tables to serve, you'd think they would be attentive and have an idea of what to do. However, the wait time for a drink would be about 30 minutes and you'd have to flag them down to order anything. I am very patient and don't mind a bit of a wait, but it got to the point by the end of the trip that the mistakes being made and continuous waiting over simple tasks felt like a bit of a joke. They seemed to lack any training or direction. The MAPA restaurant was very good though and the staff there were great! Just one final note - for a hotel that advertises itself as a luxury retreat with a spa & vineyard, they really should make it an adult only hotel. It is not the place for children and yet there were so many young children there, especially around the pool area. I don't mind children, but we booked this trip for a relaxing time and instead were subject to people's loud, excitable children instead.
