About the Hotel

At L'AND Vineyards, everything revolves around the pleasures of the vine: 6 hectares/15 acres of organic vineyards and the possibility of taking oenology courses, or creating your own bottles with labels that grace your own name, all thanks to the Wine Club. At Mapa restaurant, cuisine is elevated to the level of a universal language, celebrating the fusion of culinary cultures born from the numerous sea voyages of the Portuguese. This is a journey conducted to the rhythm of exceptional wines, some of which are produced in the property's own vineyards. The oenological experience continues at the vinotherapy spa in which some of the treatments are grape-based. Surrounded by vines, an outdoor infinity pool seems to extend into the waters of the lake. Ideal for relaxing, this family property is particularly appreciated by wine lovers as well as fans of the countryside and architecture. The castle of Montemor o Novo is within sight, and Evora, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only about twenty minutes away. Discover an original and sensory way to explore Portugal.

A Serene Escape!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The setting is absolutely beautiful—surrounded by vineyards and open countryside, it’s the perfect place to disconnect and slow down. The architecture is very modern and minimalist, but still feels warm and in harmony with the landscape. We stayed in the Sky Suite. A very spacious room, elegantly decorated and the outside bath was a nice extra. We also really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was refined and creative, with a strong focus on local ingredients, and the wine experience added a special touch. The Spa was the perfect place for us to relax. One small area for improvement was the mattress. It had sagged, and there was no mattress protector either, which I do consider a hygiene issue. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Charming and elegant!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Charming and elegant, L’and Vineyards is a standout destination that excels in both atmosphere and service. The landscape is truly incredible, providing a serene backdrop for a stay that feels both luxurious and peaceful. The staff is exceptionally attentive, focusing on the small details that make a guest feel truly cared for. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, with the added luxury of a private outdoor fireplace, perfect for relaxing under the stars. The dining experience is generally impressive, with high-quality options across both on-site restaurants and a very good breakfast. A minor remark on the breakfast room, however: while the space is visually stunning with dozens of chandeliers, the tables fall short of practical standards. They are cozy to sit at, but ultimately not well-suited for enjoying a meal. While the spa is a pleasant retreat, the gym facilities are quite limited. As a delightful final touch, the abundance of friendly cats wandering the grounds adds a unique charm to the outdoor experience. Definitely to return!

We loved staying at L'AND Vineyards! A peaceful, luxurious experience with very comfortable rooms.

Absolutely loved this place. Even with the non-stop rain (and occasional hail storm!) it was a wonderful hotel to stay at with incredible service, top to bottom. The staff were all so helpful, the housekeeping was great, and the turndown service an added touch of grace. Loved, especially with the rainy, chilly days, the use of the sauna & the Turkish bath/steam room. The indoor pool was lovely and tranquil. AND we even used the outdoor pool as a cold plunge. Breakfast was exceptional with excellent coffee and a opulent spread. The design of the whole property and our room, the junior sky suite, was really thoughtful. We hope to return when it's slightly warmer & sunnier. A quick drive to the town nearby Montemor-o-Novo made going out to lunch a 5-7 minute drive. Evora is about 30 minutes away & Lisbon airport was 70 minute drive. We opted to stay on more day and extended our trip instead of going into Lisbon. That's how much we enjoyed this peaceful, lovely place.

Horrible service! A complete disgrace for such a beautiful place.

I’m absolutely shocked by the experience we had at L’AND Vineyards. We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday - and while service was already uneven, what happened at check-out was beyond unacceptable. We had an early flight and were told reception and services work 24/7. It was pouring rain, with thunder, lightning, and hail. We called for a buggy to take us (our villa is about a 10-minute walk away), and were told we’d have to wait some unclesr amout of time because “no buggies are available.” At 7 a.m.? Really? So much for 24/7 service. We had a plane to catch, so no choice but to walk through the storm, dragging luggage under freezing rain and hail. When we finally reached what we had been shown as the main entrance, it was locked — and a staff member inside literally shouted at us through the glass that it’s “closed in the morning” and we must go around the building. He stood there watching us, instead of simply opening the door. Unbelievable. Truly disgraceful. When we finally got to reception, was completely empty, and we waitied 10 min to check out and to retrieve a bottle of wine that was left for us at reception. No staff, no help, no apology, nothing. We left soaked, freezing, and furious - and without our wine. And this wasn’t an isolated case - the entire stay was full of red flags: • We were overcharged by a waitress, who still asked for a tip afterward. • Our pre-booked activity was cancelled without anyone bothering to inform us. • The room was freezing, and the A/C didn’t work for heating. • The staff in general seemed indifferent, untrained, and uninterested. I honestly cannot understand how a place with such outstanding architecture and potential can be run with such shocking incompetence and arrogance. It feels like management has completely lost it - and the staff just don’t care. If the owner has any respect for his investment, he needs to replace the management immediately. Until then — avoid this place at all costs.

Deeply disappointing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

I had high hopes for the LAND Vineyard Hotel based on its advertised reputation, but our stay on Tuesday, 29th July was hugely disappointing from start to finish. On arrival, our suite was visibly dirty—surfaces in the bedroom, bathroom, and WC were stained and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. When I reported this via the hotel’s WhatsApp service, I was told housekeeping was “already aware” of the stains but that they “wouldn’t come off.” No one followed up, and no attempt was made to clean them. I ended up cleaning the room myself, which is not something you expect to do in a supposedly premium hotel. The curtains had come off their rails, leaving a large gap that let in daylight at dawn and disrupted our sleep. Turndown service knocked on our door at 9:45pm when we were already in bed—again showing a lack of attention to guest experience. Breakfast was another letdown. There were too few seats, and the hot menu was almost entirely egg-based. Since my husband is allergic to eggs, his options were practically nonexistent. We asked repeatedly for tea and coffee but waited over 30 minutes and never received them. We left the restaurant completely frustrated. After this string of issues, we chose to cancel our second night and move to another hotel that, thankfully, knew how to treat its guests. Having worked in the travel industry for over four decades, I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. The hotel failed on cleanliness, service, communication, and management oversight. I cannot recommend it and would advise future guests to look elsewhere.
