We recently spent 2 nights and 3 days at Margaritaville with a group of four adults. While the resort had a few positives, overall, our experience was underwhelming, and we don’t plan on returning in the near future. Below is our detailed feedback: Positives The rooms were very spacious and comfortable in terms of size. Emily, the bartender at License to Chill, was fantastic — definitely a highlight of our visit. Her friendly attitude and great service deserve a full 5 stars. Room & Housekeeping Issues The shower design was a major issue. The half-glass door didn’t function well — water splashed all over the floor, and the open design created an uncomfortable draft. It felt like the shower wasn’t designed to work with that style of door. Water pressure was noticeably low in both our room and the rooms across the hall. Housekeeping never serviced our room during our stay. We didn’t opt out of service, yet our bed was never made, and we were left without fresh towels or linens. It was especially inconvenient that only two towels and two washcloths were provided for a multi-night stay. Pool Area & Adult Experience The lazy river was extremely narrow — only one tube could float through at a time, so it felt more cramped than relaxing. We were particularly looking forward to the swim-up bar, but it was closed by 8:00 p.m., despite the pool staying open until 10 or 11 p.m. That was very disappointing, especially since we were hoping for an adult-oriented atmosphere in the evenings. The next day, the swim-up bar area was full of children, which really took away from the adult vibe we were expecting. We would strongly recommend a cocktail server service around the pool in the evenings — we would have gladly stayed longer and spent more if that were available. Being told we needed to dry off and wear more than a swimsuit cover-up to walk into the restaurant for drinks felt inconvenient and against the relaxed, resort-style experience we were hoping for. Boat & Trailer Parking Concerns We brought our boat based on the understanding that parking and slips were available on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, we weren’t informed that overnight boat slips were not allowed. This required us to pull our boat out daily and park it about a mile away from the resort in a gravel lot. The parking area had no lighting at night, no security personnel, and no visible surveillance cameras. This felt very unsafe, especially for valuable property like a boat and trailer. There was also no registration process or monitoring of the lot — anyone could enter from the main road, which poses a serious security concern. We reported this to the front desk twice, but nothing changed during our stay. Dining & Late-Night Service Most of the resort shuts down by 11:00 p.m., and there was nowhere to get snacks or even bar food after that time. If you plan to stay here, bring your own late-night snacks. The mini fridge in the room is suitable for drinks but not cold enough for perishable food. Parking & Valet Issues When we arrived, there were no open parking spaces, and hotel guests are not allowed to park in the Landshark restaurant lot. This left us feeling pressured to use valet service. Unfortunately, the first time my husband tried to retrieve our vehicle, they couldn’t locate his keys. After a period of concern, they were found clipped to an employee’s belt — not a reassuring experience.

My disappointment was that everything shuts down at 10. My teens wanted to hangout with friends and maybe do mini golf but had nothing to do. My husband and I could not even get drinks or do anything later into the night past 11. The rooms were not room darkening. So very bright by 6:30am. Loud sounds of some machine outside by 7am. It could wake the entire resort. And I was up till 2am because people on the balcony above were talking so much. The rooms could be more sound proof. I could hear people in the hallway first thing in the morning too.

Dirty room, bad odor, valet left car unlocked, overcrowded pool, poor checkout, and management will not return my calls or emails.

Terrible experience for a “resort”. The experience began at check in. The lady checking us into our 4 day, 3 night stay with her jamming my credit card in the card reader and break it. I politely said, that is ok. We proceeded to our room on the 4th floor where the entire hallway floor had a water leak and smelled like a wet dog. The carpet was wet to walk through. We reported it to the front desk, and they apologized for the smell, said they had lot of rain and sprayed deodorant in our room on day 1. Due to the no servicing of room policy except every 3 days, no one checked on the smell even though we said something and the hall was still wet and smelling in front of our room for all 4 days. Our first night, we ate at the Landshark. Service was terrible. It took 3 requests to get our drinks, 2 requests to get ketchup, and then 3 requests to get our bill. And to top it off, their signature loaded homemade chips were cold. One positive, the burger was great. In our room, the rain shower was broke and speeding different directions. The air conditioning in the room worked ok in the sitting area (we had a suite), but the bedroom was hot. So we went to Walmart and bought a fan to use for our entire stay. Once again, the hotel never checked on our room for smell or anything. The floors were linoleum and due to no cleaning except everything 3 days, the floors were so dirty that my feet got dirt on the bottom walking barefoot. We did ask for room services from the front desk, which they forgot and we had to find a maid in the hall for fresh towels. The resort boasts a sports simulator, but there was always a private party there…every day. After 2 different nights where we attempted to do the sport simulations, we didn’t got back. The resorts boasts a beach. The beach was closed the whole time. We played golf because we heard the course was great. On the back 9, a tractor with big booms off each side was going down the fairway spraying the fairways with some sort of pesticide. There was also foam all over the fairways. It smelled horrible and probably was not good to be inhaled. We stopped playing. And this was only around 5 pm. They could have waited until after play was complete. We chose to go to the pool area. The lazy river had 3 water features and only 1 worked properly. And the water had a sulphur smell. The swim up bar was ok. But, we ordered a wagyu hotdog and chips and it took over 45 minutes for food. We did want to try the License to Chill bar, ordered 1 drink and left because it was hotter inside then it was outside. Overall, I was so excited about our romantic getaway. And, went home disappointed.

5 STARS for Meg. Meg at the front desk was amazing. She helped us fix the names on our rooms and more. Great customer service.
