Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Lovely hotel and gorgeous room. I stayed just before Christmas and the hotel felt warm and festive. An evening drink in the cosy lobby in front of the fire watching the snow gently fall through the windows was a highlight, as was my room with its high, beamed ceilings and polished floor really giving a sense of the buildings heritage. Le Labo toiletries in the bathroom were a treat and the staff could not have been more welcoming. I enjoyed lovely meals in the hotel restaurants, and as a solo traveller felt safe and at home. The hotel is brilliantly placed to explore Montreal on foot.

On our 3 day stay, we were delightfully impressed with everything associated with this smaller, classy, cozy, well-managed property. It is a blend of historic construction and modern style. 1-Our well-planned room (303) was perfect for us. High ceilings, old brick feature wall, wooden beams, 2 big windows facing the water, blended with upscale modern conveniences. 2-The hotel is in “Old Montreal”, close to waterfront, the Cathedral”, and the Ferris wheel. Arrival and departure at the entrance is easy. 3-Perfect arrival. The cozy and classy lobby had a large fire in the stone fireplace, cozy seating in front of the fire, and the elevator was steps away. The smiling Valet, Thierry, greeted us and whisked our bags inside to our room. 4-The staff delighted us. Every single staff member we dealt with had a (authentic) smile, said Hello to us, and spoke perfect English. Special mention to Alexandra, on the front desk. Delightful, attentive, patient, helpful, and always smiling. Very special mention to Thierry who invested his time with us, treated us like friends, encouraged our many questions, and gave us good guidance that we trusted.

This was the best hotel experience I have had in ages. The service was excellent and the lobby lounge was so beautiful and cozy. We had good value and cannot stop telling our friends what a lovely time we had. The room was very well appointed and the old city is magical.

I went to this lovely hotel with my partner for an impromptu staycation and I wanted it to feel special for her so asked for a bouquet. Alexandra was extremely responsive and very caring. She made sure to take into account my budget and preferences and upon arrival the bouquet was exactly what I had in mind despite not having provided any pictures. My partner was delighted and we had a great time! Ezgi was at reception for most of our stay and she was very welcoming, really helped us feel at home. Thank you both for a lovely stay!

Everything about our experience at the Auberge was exceptional. The lobby is warm and inviting; the rooms are spacious and charming; the bathrooms are well equipped with state of the art showers. Every member of the staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The valet parking was easy and quick. We could not recommend it more highly.

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
