About the Hotel

Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Old Port Montreal

Location was great! Close to restaurants, tours, monuments and much much more! Hotel was cute boutique style. Rooms were nice, linens and towels soft and cozy. Bed was a bit low to floor which was odd but not a deal breaker- just weird as we felt like we were sleeping on a futon. Bathroom was small and could have used more hooks to hang towels and robes etc. Air conditioning until was affixed to top line of wall and had a blue light that shined at night that for me and those that like pure darkness to sleep was an interruption; it was too high to throw a towel over to cover. Overall a nice place, friendly staff and rooms shielding noise very well for being close to main tourist street.

A Wonderful Stay with Stunning Views

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time here. The location is perfect, and the view overlooking St Lawtence River was absolutely beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The only small downside was the shower. The water pressure was quite weak, so it wasn’t as refreshing as we had hoped. Other than that, everything was excellent.

I can’t say enough about Auberge du Vieux-Port! Obviously the location can’t be beat, have a look on any map. We chose a loft and it was stunning. The main lobby is beautiful and we had a bite to eat and drinks at both terrace and also the main restaurant. Before you even walk in the door the staff welcomes you at the curb. Believe me, that service is carried through your entire stay. Otman brought in our bags for us as well as took the car to park. Elodie checked us in smoothly and gave us information about the hotel and the area too. She booked us brunch reservations for the Jazz Sunday Brunch as well. We took her suggestions and had some amazing meals while in Montreal. Otman carried our bags up to our loft and he also let us know we could call down for our car to be delivered 24 hours a day - such a bonus in the city. Before we departed we called down and were offered assistance with our bags and our car was brought around and was waiting for us. Do yourselves a favor and book this hotel!!

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
