About the Hotel

Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Lovely stay at the Auberge

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had a very good stay at the Auberge. The staff are attractive, friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the pedestrianised street at the back with its cafes and shops but as we were on the fourth floor it was not too noisy. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the hotel are more generous with their bottles of water than many other places I have stayed. We had a large bathroom with both a shower and a bath and lots of hot water. Breakfast at Pincette each morning was delicious and served promptly though by 8.30 it was pretty busy. We had dinner with friends one night at the Taverne Gaspar where again we were looked after very well, the food was good but the room was very noisy.

Excellent day at the hotel! Very incredible amenities and helpful service and lovely lobby with coffee. We had particular helpful and insightful assistance from Ezgi that helped make our visit exceptional. She even pointed us in the right direction for culinary experiences around town. The hotel also helped us to secure reservations and tickets to local spots. We highly recommend this hotel!

Simply wonderful boutique Old Montreal hotel

The super helpful staff sets this hotel apart. They reached before arrival to help with dinner reservátions and advice and sight seeing recommendations. Louise and Alexandra were particularly helpful. Other staff jumped to accommodate anything we asked for. Their recommendations after we gave input were on point. Rooms are adequate in size with nice bathrooms and showers. Beware the distinction between River Front and River View. Only higher floors have river views. Rooftop bar is so popular you need reservations to go for a drink. Would definitely return but to a River View room.

Loved this hotel

We had room 302 facing the St Lawrence River. We were there for four nights over Labor Day weekend. We slept very well. We were not wakened by noisy parties or street noise. We enjoyed after dinner drinks in the Living Room in the Lobby. All of the staff were excellent. They helped us with all of our questions and recommended restaurants. They explained how to get to Mount Royal and how to walk back. Breakfast was served at Pincette. I love small boutique hotels and this one is my favorite so far.

Historical charm and great staff

We checked into the Auberge Du Vieux-Port last weekend in Aug. The hotel and city was very busy due to the holiday weekend. We have no issues checking in. Bleze L at the front desk took care of us. The hotel has an elevator to take you to the rooftop terrace. The view from there is gorgeous. The menu is just ok and not a lot of choices. My hubby enjoyed the oysters. I had the beet salad. There are 2 other restaurants on site. All of them had a nice French charm vibe and their menus offered more selections and nice portion sizes. I would stay here again due to its central location for everything in old Montreal. Everything was walkable to us and if not Ubers are an option. We checked in here but we stayed in one of their Lofts units. All the buildings are beautiful in their historical value and charm.

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
