Montreal is a city filled with energy, romance and culture, known for its splendid cuisine, sunny terraces, art and diversity. The same applies to Hotel Nelligan. Nestled in two adjoining nineteenth century buildings on picturesque Saint-Paul Street, the hotel is the perfect place to get acquainted with the charms of Old Montreal, like the Basilica Notre-Dame, the Old Port and Chinatown. The 105 rooms of the hotel feature fireplaces, exposed stone, brick walls, double whirlpool tubs, and tasteful furnishings. With such a graceful atmosphere, you will be continually reminded that this is a hip and happening metropolitan boutique hotel.

Our recent five-night stay at the Nelligan Hotel during the Montreal Jazz Festival was fabulous! A number of years ago, we had two wonderful visits to the Nelligan, and we were eager to return. We were not disappointed! The Nelligan is a charming repurposing of four previous industrial buildings. Its location in Old Montreal is second to none. The hotel’s common areas were recently remodeled -- we were so impressed by the stylish redecorations of the lobby and rooftop terrace. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a newly renovated bathroom. We had our breakfasts at the hotel’s Mama C restaurant, which had also recently undergone a stunning redesign and complete remodel. The food was photo worthy and scrumptious. We enjoyed planning in advance what we would order the next day from the interesting breakfast menu. The wait service was excellent...personable and caring. Our custom coffee drinks were proudly made by our waitresses and terrific. The entire hotel staff is courteous and well-trained. Of particular note is the hotel’s dedicated and passionate concierge, Jonathan Hug. In advance of our visit, he worked with us to arrange dinner reservations at restaurants tailored to our tastes and near the Jazz festival, all of which were wonderful. Jonathan is very knowledgeable about all that Montreal has to offer. He takes a personal interest in getting to know hotel guests and what they’d like to do and see. His recommendations were excellent. As an example of Jonathan’s personal service: when we asked him for directions to the closest stop for the “Hop on Hop off bus,” he insisted upon walking us the two blocks to the bus stop and then unbelievably ran to flag the bus down so we wouldn’t miss it! We can’t wait for our next visit to Montreal so we can stay at the Nelligan again!

Located in Old Montreal, in an updated historic building, with a great ground floor restaurant. Because the hotel has been created from multiple buildings, the halls on each floor have stairs mid-hall (two small sets to get from elevator to our 3rd floor room. Quiet if your room faces the center open space (but no view for those rooms). Great bed, pillows, linens, AC. No ice machines (room service glad to bring up ice). Small but well appointed exercise room. Two smallish elevators for 5 floors. The rooftop has a separate restaurant/bar that is unfortunately not just for hotel guests, so boisterous locals crowd the elevator and it's really noisy up top. It's a "boutique" hotel but that 5th floor foot traffic makes it sometimes chaotic. No free morning coffee in the lobby.

This is truly the *greatest hidden gem* in Old Port. From the moment you arrive, Hotel Nelligan impresses with its warm, attentive service and welcoming staff. Every detail, from the beautiful rooms to the top-notch amenities, reflects a deep commitment to guest comfort. The on-site restaurant is excellent, and the rooftop patio bar offers stunning views paired with a great atmosphere — perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring or taking in the F1 festivities. This was our second year staying here during the Montreal Grand Prix weekend, and it has officially become *the only hotel we’ll ever stay at in the city*. The coziness, charm, and consistently outstanding hospitality make it feel like a home away from home. Thank you, Hotel Nelligan, for another unforgettable stay. Can’t wait to return.

Perfect location, very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was spacious and included a large whirlpool bathtub. Staff friendly and helpful. There was so much construction on our floor that I think we were the only guests on our wing. The workers were discreet, but it was obvious that our side of the 2nd floor was under total renovation.

I booked my stay at Hotel Nelligan with a fraudulent third party company and only found that out upon arrival. I was very frustrated but the front desk supervisor Daniela Martinez saved the day. She spoke with said company on my behalf and squared everything away. She is a superhero. I highly recommend this hotel and I would suggest booking directly with the hotel. The location can't be beat and the restaurants affiliated with it are amazing.

Hotel Nelligan was lovely, the location is superb, and the staff professional with personal touches. Our room was fantastic, bigger than any we had ever stayed in, and the restaurant was so delicious. When we couldn't finish our dessert, they sent it to our room for us to enjoy later

We recently booked the Hotel Nelligan. We stayed in a uniquely decorated and very stylish room. The king bed was heavenly with luxury linens. Every afternoon we sipped complimentary wine and ate French cheeses by the lobby fire. The staff could not have been more courteous.

We discovered nothing less than excellent room service, a first-class restaurant and everyone at the hotel doing their best to assure a first-class experience. While the weather was cold, the staff always made us feel warm, from our entry into the lobby, throughout our stay. This hotel is a definite must for future stays in Montreal.
