Hotel Nelligan

This hotel has been beautifully renovated. It is perfectly located in the center of Old Montreal. It has a warm, cozy, and friendly feel. The staff is frendly and very helpful. I viisited with a group of 10 and the hotel went above and beyod to make us all comfortable. They checked on us regularly throughout our stay and quickly addressed any of our questions or requests. I would hightly recommed this beautiful hotel to anyone visiting Montreal.

Recently updated so good quality rooms and structure. I did not like our particular room due to location but quality finishes and good size. Quiet room in the back off the street. Old building so meanders along corridors. Did not eat there but heard positive things. Roof top bar is great for view (not much to see of a river though) but drinks well prepared and staff friendly.

I ended up at this hotel unexpectedly and they accommodated me as well as they could. For more information on that see my review under place d’armes. The staff at the hotel were generally excellent, friendly, and helpful. I was upgraded to a junior suite to accommodate me for trouble at the first hotel. The room was spacious and clean. It was a very busy holiday weekend in old Montreal and while the hotel is well located near the port and basilica, it’s also directly adjacent to several bars. The noise each of my four night stay was extremely loud, consisting mostly of bumping bass/music, rev’ing of sported up vehicles, and screeches of drunk people on the street. It was akin to what one would expect if they were to stay on the strip in a college town. So if you aren’t coming to party and are a light sleeper id consider staying elsewhere. There are several bars located on property but they are open to public and do not reserve space for hotel guests, so don’t expect to be able to get in. I was unable to get into the downstairs bar at all, and to get on the rooftop bar I had to beg the female hostess/bouncer to let me in for a single drink and finally she acquiesced and said fine if you want to sit over there by yourself go ahead. I was traveling alone, but wanting a drink after dinner didn’t seem like reason to invite attempted humiliation, though I got my drink. I read that there is supposed to be a spa in 2027 but no facilities like that exist now to my knowledge. The hotel is modern and nice and the staff generally gracious, for the amount being spent id consider other possibilities before staying here.

Nice enough room and great location but not worth the significant additional cost vs similar properties in Montreal. Draws crowds for the terrace and restaurants so the communal areas were always packed and quite loud.

In love with this hotel! We had a fantastic time . Everyone is helpful and kind . Love the decor and location of the hotel . The staff is simply fantastic . We went all the family a couple of nights to celebrate NYE . I want to give special thank you to the head valet Bilal Lachouri , he went out of his way to help us remove all the snow from the car in a very cold winter day . Surely will be back !
