Montreal is a city filled with energy, romance and culture, known for its splendid cuisine, sunny terraces, art and diversity. The same applies to Hotel Nelligan. Nestled in two adjoining nineteenth century buildings on picturesque Saint-Paul Street, the hotel is the perfect place to get acquainted with the charms of Old Montreal, like the Basilica Notre-Dame, the Old Port and Chinatown. The 105 rooms of the hotel feature fireplaces, exposed stone, brick walls, double whirlpool tubs, and tasteful furnishings. With such a graceful atmosphere, you will be continually reminded that this is a hip and happening metropolitan boutique hotel.

Our six day stay at the Hotel Nelligan was fantastic. It is centrally located in the Old Montreal district where restaurants and shops abound. It is within minute walks from many attractions, such as the Notre Dame basilica, Grand Quay and the archeology museum. Our suite was lovely with huge/ updated bathroom, king size bed and even a fire place. The hotel’s three restaurants were excellent, especially Mama Cs - the Greek restaurant where we had breakfast every morning and the dinners, The rooftop terrace was a great place to dine or to have a drink, but go early or have a reservation because it is very popular and fills up early. The hotel and restaurant staffs were exceptional - especially the front desk personnel of Freddie, Elizabeth, Arneau and others. But the “star” of the staff was the head concierge Jonathan Hug, who went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable and smooth as possible. When in Montreal again, this will be our hotel of choice. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The Valet Staff-Jacques and Bilal were fantastic! From the moment we arrived with our car they were there to greet and assist us. They helped unpack ( we had a car full because we were also going to Mont Tremblant for a few days as well) and brought all our bags to our room. They looked after parking our vehicle. When we were checking out- they were there to load up our car. Fantastic duo! Cheerful and helpful! The guest reception at the desk- Jason. He was amazing. We called earlier to see if we could be checked in earlier and he was able to get us in earlier at 2 pm versus 4 pm. We were celebrating my birthday. The room was a beautiful mini suite - absolutely beautiful! The hotel was fantastic, the room was beautiful and the staff were the best of any hotel that we have ever stayed at! Top notch h all around! We will be back!

Hotel Nelligan and its staff were the highlight of our visit to Montreal. Prior to our arrival, the Hotel’s Chef de Concierge, Jonathan Hug, welcomed us with an email in French and English asking what the hotel could do to make our stay more pleasant, and informing us of services, restaurants, and attractions both in the hotel and in the local community. Upon our arrival, desk clerk Freddie welcomed us warmly and when we expressed our appreciation for Monsieur Jonathan’s personal attention, she said he was the star of the hotel, and we agreed. The hotel recently underwent an extensive renovation that beautifully blends a modern esthetic with historical exposed brick walls and vintage hardwood floors. It features a Greek restaurant, a steak house, and a rooftop bar and café all of which were delicious. We were upgraded to a spacious “petite suite” with fireplace, French doors overlooking an interior courtyard, and a large bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Monsieur Jonathan had sent up a bottle of champagne and nibbles to our room. When he learned later that my traveling companion was celebrating a birthday, he sent up complimentary drinks, pastries, and a gift. Over the next week, we consulted daily with Monsieur Jonathan who recommended things to do and places to visit, procured admission tickets, made dinner reservations, explained bus and Metro routes and armed us with area maps. He was the perfect host, and his guidance enabled us to sample the best of Montreal (with a day trip to Quebec City) including visits to museums showcasing local archeology and fine and decorative arts, a Basilica sound and laser light show, the Oratory cathedral, the Olympic village, the breathtaking botanical garden, and several restaurants. Montreal is a beautiful city with a lively and welcoming vibe. Monsieur Jonathan and the hotel Nelligan staff including Freddie, Arnaud, Elizabeth, Josh, and Clara made it even more approachable and vibrant with their friendliness and assistance. I will long remember them fondly and I heartily recommend this outstanding hotel and staff to other visitors to Montreal. You will feel like family. Brad Adams, Georgia, USA

The experience we had was beyond fabulous. Jonathan and Arnoud did everything we asked times ten. I have traveled internationaly for decades and this was one of the most fabulous experiences of my journey. I will recommend this to anyone and will return happily soon I hope.

I arrived late at night and was immediately put at ease by the valet, Abrahima, who was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my stay. At the front desk, Elizabeth gave me a warm welcome and shared great tips about things to do around Old Montreal. The room was comfortable, the service top-notch, and the location ideal. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back.

Hotel Nelligan was lovely, the location is superb, and the staff professional with personal touches. Our room was fantastic, bigger than any we had ever stayed in, and the restaurant was so delicious. When we couldn't finish our dessert, they sent it to our room for us to enjoy later

We recently booked the Hotel Nelligan. We stayed in a uniquely decorated and very stylish room. The king bed was heavenly with luxury linens. Every afternoon we sipped complimentary wine and ate French cheeses by the lobby fire. The staff could not have been more courteous.

We discovered nothing less than excellent room service, a first-class restaurant and everyone at the hotel doing their best to assure a first-class experience. While the weather was cold, the staff always made us feel warm, from our entry into the lobby, throughout our stay. This hotel is a definite must for future stays in Montreal.
