Le Place d'Armes Hotel & Suites

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was perfect for us, as we had tickets for the AURA show at the Basilica, which is practically within walking distance from the hotel, very convenient! We did have a small issue during our stay with the room keys/magnetic cards, as they seemed to demagnetize quite easily. However, this was handled exceptionally well by the manager, Lyacit. He was extremely professional, kind, and genuinely willing to help. He even personally came up to our room to make sure we had access while the issue was being addressed. The team also explained that they are looking into changing the system in the future, and Lyacit followed up with us afterward to make sure everything was resolved. That level of follow-up really stood out to us. They also took care of our parking charges as a gesture of goodwill, which was extremely appreciated. We also enjoyed the restaurant on the rooftop. It was a really nice spot to grab a drink and something to eat. We tried a few appetizers, including the tacos and halloumi cheese, and really enjoyed them. Overall, every hotel can have an occasional issue, what really matters is how they handle it. In our case, the staff handled everything professionally and made sure we felt taken care of. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Where to begin! We actually didn’t end up staying at Hotel Place d’Armes because of an unexpected A/C issue in the tower where our room was located. The hotel moved us to their sister property, Hotel Nelligan, and honestly, the whole process was handled so smoothly. The Concierge and Front Desk teams were lovely and incredibly helpful. Diego at the Front Desk was especially kind and professional, making sure everything was taken care of and that we felt welcome throughout the transition. Our luggage and the two of us were transferred by car to the new property, where we were warmly welcomed and checked into our room. Once we settled in, the staff were also great about recommending local restaurants and things to see and do. Ricardo was terrific and really went above and beyond with his recommendations and help. Both Diego and Ricardo made a real difference in our experience. Even though the change of hotel was unexpected, everyone at both properties was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. What could have been a stressful situation turned into a very positive experience. We had a great stay and will definitely be back to Montreal as soon as possible. We stayed here back in July as a group of friends and really enjoyed our time at Hotel Place d’Armes. You honestly can’t beat the location. It’s right in Old Montreal and just across from Notre-Dame, so we were able to walk everywhere and really enjoy the area. The room was beautiful and much bigger than we expected. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in! Everything was clean and nicely done. The staff were super friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. We also booked massages at the spa and they were great. Definitely worth doing if you have some time during your stay. We also loved the rooftop terrace. It was a great place to sit outside, have a drink and catch up with friends after a day of sightseeing. The restaurants at the hotel were also excellent, which made it really convenient to have great dining options right there. We even picked up a little French during our trip, **merci beaucoup!** Overall, we had a great stay and felt it was a really good value for the location and quality of the hotel, would definitely come back next time we’re in Montreal!

Hotel Place de’Armes is located in the prime location for site seeing and enjoying the Old City of Montréal. We loved everything about our stay from our sushi dinner upon arrival to the private car to the train station as we made our way to our next destination. We were greeted by Lisa, the manager during our check-in who alerted us to issues with the building’s AC system. We were given a beautiful suite as an upgrade but honestly, the portable AC units kept the suite quite comfortable. It was the perfect blend of historic charm with modern conveniences. We couldn’t have been happier and have no regrets staying at this lovely hotel.

This wasn’t our first stay at Hôtel Place d’Armes, and once again we were reminded why we enjoy coming back. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Old Montréal and within walking distance of so many restaurants and attractions. We did experience an issue with the AC during our stay, but the way the team handled it made all the difference. They quickly provided us with a fan, offered compensation for the inconvenience, and made sure to follow up with us to ensure we were comfortable. A special thank you to Tina and Allie, who were both wonderful and genuinely cared about our experience. The entire team was great, including housekeeping, who were always friendly and attentive. We have stayed here before and will definitely be back again. Problems can happen anywhere, but knowing that the team will take care of you when something goes wrong is exactly what keeps us coming back to Place d’Armes.
