Great Hotel Place d'Armes Location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Cool hotel comprised of 3 old buildings in a super location of Montreal. The restaurant/bar stayed open late for a nightcap or late night snack, as well as serving a delicious breakfast in the morning. Service was very friendly! Our room was on the small side, but offered all of the amenities & a comfy bed.

Old Mont Real

Our weeklong stay at the Place D’Armes was a two-parter, and included a weekend trip by rail to Quebec City. The kind people at the hotel helped us plan our mini trip within a trip and babysat our car while we were away! In general this hotel is great—well located, clean, spacious, with excellent service and a fantastic restaurant and bar on the ground floor, Brasserie 701. (Try the Mount Royal!) The Rain Spa is a beautiful facility, staffed by very friendly and helpful professionals, connecting with clients with genuine warmth and compassion. Well worth adding it to your schedule of activities. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the outstanding service of concierge Ricardo Ecaterina! Ricardo corresponded with me prior to our arrival, helping with restaurant choices, things to do, and of course planning our brief detour to Quebec City. Old Montreal is a wonderful area, and the Place D’Armes is the ideal place from which to enjoy it.

Comfortable, great location, good not great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My room was small and not terribly cozy, looked out on the fire station. Fortunately no emergencies while I was there. There was no maid service any of the days I stayed. Breakfast in the dining room was very good, available at an extra cost but worth it - the dining room was pretty and service was mostly good, food was excellent. The rooftop terrace was not available any day , which is a shame, since the weather was very mild and pleasant. Hotel location is wonderful.

Great Hotel

The hotel is in a great location in Old Montreal located at the Place d'Armes public square and Notre-Dame Basilica. It's close to the Old Port of Montreal and the Metro. The staff is friendly. The rooms are beautiful and there is a nice terrace for drinks and/or food.

At the Hotel Place d’Armes, we arrived very late one night and had an unbelievable late night dinner at the adjoining restaurant. The hotel itself is very nice and well-maintained, and the rooms were great. I contacted the concierge beforehand and they really set me up with some great advice on restaurants and things to do.
