Le Place d'Armes Hotel & Suites

my sister booked here for a wedding in February at 250 a night. They loved it so we planned a stay in July and it was 788. nope

This is a beautiful historic property in the old city, across the street from Notre Dame Cathedral. Indeed, it is a great jumping off point for exploring the old city and the waterfront on foot. My room was an oasis of comfort and the bathroom had modern charm. There is a very nice dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a bustling rooftop bar. The lobby is a little light on lobby seating, and the elevators can be slow during busy hours of the day. But, I totally enjoyed my stay and I look forward to going back!

My girlfriend and I chose Hôtel Place d’Armes to celebrate my birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. To our surprise, we were upgraded to what they called an Executive Room, which made our stay feel even more special. At check-in, Cleanna and Vanessa were incredibly warm, professional, and welcoming. When we entered our room, we found a bottle of champagne and a beautiful charcuterie board waiting for us,such a thoughtful surprise! Later that evening, as we were passing by the restaurant, Alexandra recognized that we were celebrating and kindly offered us two glasses of Prosecco. It was such an unexpected gesture that made me feel truly special. The bartender was also fantastic and added to the wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, but what we’ll remember most is the genuine warmth and kindness from the staff throughout the hotel. Their attention to detail made my birthday celebration unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!

My sister and I spent the weekend at Hotel Place d’Armes to celebrate my birthday, and we had such a lovely stay. We were pleasantly surprised when they were able to check us in around 2 p.m., which gave us extra time to enjoy Old Montreal. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and had a well-stocked minibar. The snacks aren’t complimentary, but do yourself a favor and try the sweet and salty cookies—they were honestly so good! We did have a small issue with the air conditioning when we first got to the room, but I have to give credit where it’s due. We called the front desk, and someone came almost immediately. The problem was fixed within minutes, and everything worked perfectly for the rest of our stay. It’s always the way a hotel handles little issues that makes the biggest difference, and the team here was friendly, efficient, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. We would absolutely stay here again for another girls’ weekend.

This was our second stay at Hotel Place d’Armes, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. What I really like about this hotel is that every building has its own personality. During our first visit, we stayed in one of the original buildings with its historic charm, exposed stone, and classic European feel. This time, we stayed in the third building, and it was a completely different experience—more modern, bright, and contemporary. It almost felt like staying at a different hotel while still getting the same great service. Montreal decided to welcome us with rain, but the hotel had umbrellas ready for guests in the lobby, which was such a thoughtful touch. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee available throughout the day before heading out to explore. The staff deserves a special mention. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, energetic, and genuinely eager to help. You can tell the team enjoys what they do, and it makes a difference. Another nice surprise was being offered a late checkout, which let us enjoy one last walk through Old Montreal without feeling rushed. Little gestures like that are what keep us coming back. If you’re looking for a hotel with character, an excellent location, and people who truly care about your stay, Hotel Place d’Armes is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back for a third visit.
