Le Saint Sulpice

The hotel is very central in Old Montreal, and convenient for restaurants and bars. The room was a mini suite, with a large sitting area and a kitchenette, all modern equipment. There were one or two minor design issues with the room that I would have changed but nothing big. Service was generally good. The concierge was extremely helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and good.

The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff was amazing in particular Melodie, who went above and beyond to help. The only problem is that the on-site restaurant, that serves delicious food, is not always open for those staying at the hotel because they often book it for private parties. Definitely frustrating as that is one reason we booked the hotel.

Devastatingly disappointed - We travelled Eastern Canada for several weeks & this hotel was our final stop for 3 nights in Montreal. We had read the reviews & due to a recent life limiting diagnosis decided to really splurge & end the trip with a luxurious finale. Upon arrival, our initial expectations were met; beautiful room with big bathroom containing generous bath & shower, living space, kitchen area & bedroom. We initially thought the bottle of wine in the room was a gift as we were celebrating a wedding anniversary during our trip & then we saw the label with the price on it ...😂 On our second night we returned after a full on day in Montreal & I was exhausted ( I walk with a stick for support following cancer treatment). We decided to have a nightcap in the bar & retire to bed early. Upon entering the bar/restaurant we encountered 3 staff chatting amongst themselves. The bar was devoid of anyone else but we could see & hear people in the dining room beyond & the staff were clearly surprised to see us there. We explained that we were merely looking for a drink & the staff explained that the bar & restaurant were closed due to a corporate event. We said we didn't intend to sit in the bar but would go up to our room as I was exhausted. One of the staff explained that we could go 'around the corner' to a nearby pub. We were aware of the pub, having dined there the previous night but at that moment in time I couldn't have walked the length of myself, let alone leave the hotel and walk 'around the corner'. Disappointed & somewhat shocked we went straight to bed. The following morning we asked at reception to speak to someone about the previous night. The duty day manager addressed our concerns & apologised that we had not been told when we checked in that a corporate event was taking place & the bar & restaurant were both out of use to other guests & that this was their policy. She reassured us that both the bar & restaurant would re-open to paying guests at 5pm that night. At that time, I decided that having spent thousands of dollars to stay there each night & being unable to access all the facilities despite this, the Saint-Sulpice would be getting no more of our money!!! We ate & drank elsewhere on our final night. Our entire trip was marred by this hotel & left us with a bad tate in our mouths. All of our friends & family have been incredibly shocked to learn that paying guests could not receive any food or a drink in our hotel. We will also notify the travel agent who organised our entire trip of the policy to deny guests services in favour of corporate events in the hope that they find alternative accomodation for their future clients. This stay should have been the culmination of an incredible, once in a lifetime trip but sadly this was not the case. I truly hope this hotel rethinks it's current policy before denying any other paying guest of their services.

A pleasant surprise in the heart of Old Montreal. We stayed four nights and this hotel checked all the boxes. Comfort, location, excellent service from the Front Desk & Concierge, valet & housekeeping. The king suite was spacious clean and quiet. The restaurant breakfast and service was perfect. Relaxed, inviting never felt rushed & the breakfast was plentiful.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms are spacious and very clean and well equipped. Even though in a busy place the Hotel is very quiet. However it is clear that any corporate event will be prioritized over all other customers. We were staying 3 nights and we're unable to use the bar or restaurant on the first 2 nights as they were hosting a corporate event. We were not informed of this when booking the hotel or when we arrived and checked in. It wasn't until we went to use these facility that we were informed we couldn't due to the corporate event. We couldn't even get room service. When we complained we were told it was hotel policy to close restaurant and bar when hosting corporate event. Clearly corporate is more important to the hotel than regular paying guest. We have travelled alot around the world and have never came across a hotel that cannot handle corporate and normal guests at same time absolutely shocking duty manager didn't even apologize for it she just said that's what we do.
