Reviews for Le Saint Sulpice

Friendly, caring staff; perfect city location; huge, clean suite with amenities

The three best things about the hotel were the location, the staff, and the cleanliness. Almost everything we planned to see or do in Montreal was within easy walking distance. While there was road construction on St Paul, it didn't affect our drive or our quiet nights' rest at all. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, graciously helping and completely resolving a little mix up about our car. They seemed to recognize us as we came and went and readily brought extra towels when asked. Our suite was huge, pristinely clean, and had a lot of nice amenities, including a kitchenette, that added to our stay.

Amazing location, good enough of a hotel

Stayed here pretty last minute, and I definitely paid for it. While extending my wonderful Montreal trip, I decided to stay here because of it's location and new hotel renovations. The location is spectacular right next to the cathedral and steps away from tons of shops and many great dining options. Truly feels like one is in Europe. While the hotel is bright, clean, relatively modernized with its new renovations — the hotel still feels charming and intimate. The rooms are comfortable and very spacious with modern bathrooms. I believe all rooms here have a suite-like set-up which seems to be what makes this property special. My suite was bright and comfortable with lots of seating options and good lighting. The bed was comfortable enough yet nothing special and the bathroom while it was clean the sinks were annoying to use. The only downside I found with the hotel was the customer service from the front desk, it's definitely not a five or even four-and-half star hotel, service wise. The front desk seemed annoyed when asking any special requests or for specific things. The exception was the valet staff, they were very friendly (especially the younger lads, eager to help). Perhaps if I had a room on a higher floor or had its own walk-out terrace, I think I would have liked the hotel a little more. For myself; feel that definitely over paid, being a last minute booking. Still it's a nice boutique hotel, with a fabulous location and charming good vibes.

Historic Montreal charm

The location was fantastic. We were able to walk from the cruise port to the hotel easily. Easy walking to many restaurants, shopping, museums, and the Basilica. We didn't rent a car and found we didn't need one. The bed was comfortable. There's no dresser for unpacking our luggage and limited closet space for hanging clothes. It was nice to have a kitchenette and in-room coffee. The staff were helpful and friendly. We'd stay at this hotel again.

A Wonderful Stay

My husband and I and my sister reserved the Penthouse Saint-Sulpice, a two-bedroom two-bath suite with living room, dining room, and kitchenette. This was an 1100 square feet apartment. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations and location. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were spacious. The apartment was clean and attended to daily by an excellent housekeeping staff. The hotel is located next door to Notre Dame Basilica and a few steps away from St. Paul Street with its many restaurants, shops, and art galleries. The hotel is just two blocks from the Old Port. Breakfast is available in the dining room and the menu offered many tempting dishes. We ate there most mornings and enjoyed our meals. The staff was helpful and friendly. The lobby had several seating areas and a computer area for guests to use. We will definitely stay at Hotel Saint-Sulpice on our return to Montreal. I do want to suggest some modifications that would improve safety and comfort. The bathroom with the tub/shower needs a grab bar at the end of the tub to ensure safety when exiting the tub. Even though the tub has a textured bottom it did not prevent slipping. Additionally, a rubber textured mat to place in the tub would make it less slippery. There is one towel bar in each bathroom which is large enough to hold two bath towels. I wish there was additional towel bars or hooks for the hand towels. There is space on the ends of the vanity to add such bars or hooks. The only downside was that the pillows were uncomfortable.

Old Montreal perfection

I had recommended st sulpice to family members after visiting the hotel for a reception and finally stayed there recently. A group of family were traveling, so we arranged adjoining suites which were amazing. Hotel staff make sure anything we need was provided, and the rooms were clean, quiet, and full of all the amenities 1 would expect. The location couldn’t be more perfect for exploring old Montreal. I would visit again and again and I will.

We went over the July 4 holiday and stayed at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel in Montreal, which was a great luxury suites hotel. Everything was easy on the booking end and the package was as good or better than stated.

I stayed at Le Saint-Sulpice in Montreal from the 1st to the 4th of November, 2004, and I absolutely loved it and am hoping to go back in the summer. So, without a doubt my experience was a very happy one. Thank You.
