Le Saint Sulpice

This hotel is all about contradiction and poor service. We arrived early. The front desk supervisor checked us in and said rooms were not yet ready and are guaranteed for 4 PM. She asked for my phone number. We returned to the hotel at 5:30 PM having never received a call. The same supervisor assisted me. I commented that we never received a call. She never apologized nor commented further. Not a good look at all. Worse that this is from a leader. We are two couples and booked a penthouse suite with 2 BR 2 BA. The suite is spacious but has literally no place to unpack and store our clothing for easy access. The lighting in both bedrooms is so poor that it’s dangerous and impossible to find anything. The bathroom is fine, but sparse. No hand towels. We asked for some and they were brought to our room. The bath towels are literally thin and threadbare. Hair conditioner container in one shower is empty. There is a Nespresso coffee machine which we appreciate. But for two couples there are 4 regular coffee pods. I got more from the housekeeper. Suite has cooking facilities. But no paper towels or napkins. The refrigerator is tiny and too much of its space is taken up by two bottles of wine that are offered for sale. Not much room for our own items. Bedding is comfortable. Living rooms space is comfortable and roomy. We placed our suitcases in the living room space on luggage racks we requested and chairs from the dining table. That is the only way to store and be able to see our clothing. Imperfect but it works. There was a bottle of Prosecco on ice to welcome us to the room. We are two couples…and there are two flutes. This hotel needs better leadership to attend to details. The design flaws are shocking…poor lighting in bedrooms and very limited space to unpack clothing. One expects more storage in a two bedroom suite. Great location and room is clean and quiet. That said, it’s very underwhelming, over priced for the quality and does not meet the standard to which it’s promoted.

This hotel is in a great location in the heart of old Montreal. Our room was large with a good bathroom although the plumbing was a bit pesky at times. The a/c in the common areas was rather aggressive.The breakfasts were nice but not buffet style so they were a bit pricey. Friendly staff.

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Saint-Sulpice with two young children. They staff were wonderful, the location was superb, and we loved our room. All of the sights of Old Montreal were on our doorstep and we could walk to the subway to go to sights further away like the Biodome and Botanical Gardens. We all want to return!

The most elegant and accommodating hotel I have ever stayed at. I was booked in a suite with a private outdoor space and everything was perfectly comfortable. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to provide whatever we needed.

A wonderful location, beautiful room, and excellent service during our stay, thank you. The spacious suite was just what we were looking for.
