I do not recommend this hotel We were going to check-in in the middle of the night, i called the hotel in advance to let them know, spoke with the manager named Cathy that confirmed she will keep my reservation until my arrival, for us to arrive around 5am and be told our reservation has been cancelled due to a no show Why did I bother calling the property if they were still going to cancel my reservation? What type of manager can’t manage this basic request On the positive side, the front desk agent Tuba made sure to accommodate us quickly, offered us her sincere apologies and upgraded our room with a gorgeous view, thank you for your help Breakfast was also excellent, however service was lacking

This was our third stay here and it was very disappointing. It didn’t feel like a luxury Fairmont experience that we had the two previous times we stayed. Our front door was all scratched up, and that’s something that should be taken care of. We did share that it was our anniversary and would be staying for four nights I remember receiving a lovely gesture the previous times, but this time they sent a petite fruit tart for both of us, which was appreciated, but not as generous. There was a disconnect with housekeeping, such as taking a robe and not replacing it, turndown service only one out the four nights, not replacing our water bottle, and it took 30 minutes for someone to come and bring one. They brought two bottles, then the housekeeper took that away the following day instead of leaving the unopened bottle. The room looked clean, but makes me question how through, if there was such carelessness. The concierge service was five star. Melissa is a rock star! She went above and beyond to assist and was so kind and courteous. We also dealt with Francois and this gentleman certainly is a Les Clefs d’Or concierge and provided top tier service. I would come back just because of them, otherwise it just wasn’t the elevated experience of a Fairmont that we had previously.

Disappointing and inconsistent breakfast service — not the Fairmont standard We were very disappointed with the breakfast experience at Fairmont. Our breakfast plan initially gave us the choice between the buffet and the à la carte menu. On our first day, both options were available. However, on the second day, we were told that only the buffet was available. When we questioned this, we were told that it was “only buffet today.” This was clearly not accurate, as we could see other guests being served à la carte orders. We subsequently received different explanations from staff, including that the availability of the options depends on what management wants to push on a particular day. This raises serious concerns about transparency and guest service. If guests have a breakfast plan that includes options, those options should be offered consistently rather than selectively depending on what the hotel is trying to promote. We are vegetarian, and approximately one-third of the buffet consists of meat options, which is precisely why we prefer the à la carte menu. Being told that the à la carte option is unavailable, while simultaneously seeing other guests ordering from it, was particularly frustrating. We spoke directly with Mrs. Pilon to raise our concerns and explain why we felt this practice was inconsistent with what we would expect from the Fairmont standard. She listened to our concerns, but the underlying issue remains. Management should review how the breakfast plan is being administered and clarify the policy with staff. Guests should not receive different answers or have their choices restricted based on what management wants to sell that day. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not the level of service, consistency, or transparency we expected from Fairmont.

We stayed here a couple of nights on arrival into Canada. Great location, great views from the hotel rooms, decent food and excellent customer service. A special thank you from us to Pascal at the front desk who helped us when we had a problem with our room on the first night - we really appreciate your assistance!

We had a fantastic family stay at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. The hotel works really well for families. Breakfast was excellent — great quality, plenty of choice, and staff who were attentive without rushing us. The pool was another highlight: perfect for unwinding after exploring the city. Our child loved it, and the atmosphere was calm and well‑managed. The rooms were comfortable, the location couldn’t be better, and the overall service consistently felt like the standard you expect from a Fairmont. A really enjoyable stay for all of us, and one we’d happily repeat.

I enjoyed three nights at the Queen Elizabeth in May 2024 and could not have been more pleased, with just a few exceptions. Let's start with the positive first. Every staff person I encountered was extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and kind. The Signature amenities were explained to me without my having to ask. I was greeted by name almost without exception and the person who cleaned my room left me the nicest note thanking me for a tip I'd left. It's those little things that make such a difference.
Everything about the property has been recently updated and it looks great. The fitness center is especially modern and well-equipped. The key cards are wooden rather than plastic -- another small detail that made my stay more memorable. The cocktail bar is hopping with a DJ and inventive cocktails - worth the price in opinion. In terms of location, you couldn't ask for anything better. Just steps away from the main shopping and entertainment areas, metro stations, and railway.
Now a few gripes. I booked a 420 sq ft. Deluxe Room which was supposed to have a view. I was upgraded to a Jr. Suite of the same size, but without a view and felt small. But for a family, it would be perfect because the two rooms are separate and the living area has a powder room. But the view... any room that is on the back side of the hotel looks out over the rooftops of office buildings and nothing more. Be sure to request a room with a view of the Cathedral or the plaza. And... the bathroom was tiny! I mean, really tiny.
The restaurant's buffet breakfast was as expected. Aren't all buffets the same no matter where you are? I ate dinner there the first night and it was excellent, but I never returned because the menu was so limited. Not even a salad! Fortunately, the room service menu offered a little more variety.
Final note: for spa lovers, the Queen Elizabeth has what I consider treatment rooms, not a spa. There is no relaxation room, hydrotherapy circuit, etc. However, the fitness center has a nice pool and Jacuzzi and the large changing rooms have single-sex saunas. I'd rate this property and my experience a 4-1/2 and would definitely stay again.

My whole family loved our stay at the Queen Elizabeth. It is a perfect location especially after taking the train from Quebec to Montreal. Our dinner at The Beaver Club was the highlight of my trip to Canada. It is quite rare when you dine in a restaurant that has lovely ambiance, exemplary service, and food which makes your taste buds jump for joy.

I recently visited Montreal. My stay at the Queen Elizabeth was such a delightful experience I will not soon forget. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is out of this world, they really make you feel like you are important, like someone very special, they seem to go out of their way to help you. A special thanks to Viviane who works at the front desk, she was so helpful and thoughtful, a real gem. I also would like to thank César who was a great help. They are top of the line. By the way, the food and service at The Beaver Club is excellent.
