Hotel Le Germain Montreal - Temporarily Closed

When we checked in, we were able to switch our reservation from a room with a bed and a sofa bed to a room with two beds, and were told that that room was actually cheaper than the one we reserved. When I tried to find out exactly how much I would get back, the receptionist left me waiting at the front desk while he disappeared. When I finally asked another receptionist, she gave me the wrong information saying that there was no credit coming to me. At the end, there was actually a credit processed on my bill, and I am fine with that, but not too happy with the interactions I had with the front desk. Our room has a lounge chair, and it was stained, and the hardwood floor looked dirty also. Otherwise the room was fine. We had dinner at Le Boulevardier Restaurant of the hotel. The service was almost perfect, friendly but efficient. The food was great, except the oysters we had seemed 'small' and 'skinny'. I thought that the value of the products we received do not match with the money we spent for both the room and the food.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. Great location near McGill University, easy walking distance to Saint Catherine St. and great museums and an easy cab or Uber to everything Montreal has to offer. The staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are luxurious and modern. The beds extremely comfortable as are the pillows.

Very good hotel with excellent staff at the reception. Take care of your requests, e.g., a quit room in an upper floor. Comfortable rooms. The hotel seems to be quite new. Very clean Nice bar at the ground floor. Very good location in Montreal.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. They even found me a steamer to use for a formal dress i was wearing to a wedding. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. The restaurant and nearby eateries were very good. Our local favorite was Solis cafe- just next to the hotel.

Excellent hotel very helpful and friendly staff, arrived late to be told room was cancelled, but soon sorted out for us and upgraded our room for the inconvenience, breakfast was excellent, stayed two nights , bar area really good too . 8 minute walk up Mansfield street from main train station, it’s about a 30 minute walk into the old part of Montreal.
