The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal

Just had an exceptional stay at The Ritz-Carlton Montreal. The highlights: 1. This hotel - which is the original Ritz-Carlton worldwide - carries itself with a perfect blend of history, old world charm and modern amenities. You can feel the sense of great import from past visitors - and current ones - while enjoying the sights, sounds and scents of a luxury hotel (including the stunning Palm Court bar). The modern touches include luxurious beds and sheets, Toto toilets, an excellent gym and nice Diptyque toiletries. 2. The service is truly world-class. From the doormen (including Jose) to the talented concierge team (led by Dominique and including Anastasia) to Ricardo, Alina and others, guests are made to feel at home every step of the way. This is a group of well-trained professionals who are always ready to assist their guests. Dominique, in particular, went above and beyond on many occasions. 3. The location is great. Yes, Old Montreal is charming and dynamic, but for a combination of culture (including La Musee des beaux-arts), business meetings (many offices nearby), both McGill and Concordia universities, and of course excellent restaurants and bars, I prefer this location for a hotel. I remain a fan and this last stay was on another level.

What an amazing stay at The Ritz-Carlton Montreal. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely fantastic and made the entire experience feel special. What really sets this Ritz apart is its character. This isn’t the sleek, modern Ritz-Carlton experience you find in many cities today. The hotel embraces its history, with beautiful architecture, classic décor, and little pieces of the past throughout the property. Seeing the famous phone booth connected to the first transcontinental telephone call was such a unique touch, and knowing this was the first hotel in North America to carry the Ritz-Carlton name makes staying here feel like experiencing a piece of history. The location is also nearly perfect. It somehow feels quiet, private, and secluded while still being right in the heart of Montreal and within walking distance of so much. Afternoon tea was another highlight of our stay. The entire experience was beautifully done, and the desserts were especially incredible. It was elegant without feeling overly formal and was one of those experiences that genuinely added something memorable to the trip. Between the history, incredible staff, beautiful property, afternoon tea, and outstanding location, this was much more than simply a luxury hotel stay. The Ritz-Carlton Montreal has a personality and sense of place that many newer luxury hotels simply can’t replicate.

This is a beautiful old hotel in a great downtown location. Our room was large, immaculate and very well appointed. There was a desk, a couch and chair. The WiFi signal was strong and there were many outlets. Service is remarkably consistent and excellent at this Ritz-Carlton. This is the place to stay in Montreal.

The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive, and they made us feel at home throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and very well maintained. Everything was spotless, and we really appreciated the attention to detail. Everyone we met was kind, professional, and always happy to help. Their genuine friendliness and exceptional service made our experience feel very special. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return to The Ritz-Carlton Montreal on our next visit. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with truly outstanding service in Montreal.

Highly impressed with the level of service and professionalism. Helpful front desk, especially the exceptional desk manager. Valets are friendly and always prompt. Bellman Ricardo is one of a kind. And a room attendant appropriately named Blessing is a treasure. This is a special place.
