Suspended high above the N’wanetsi River, the dramatic cliffside setting of Singita Lebombo Lodge’s 13 contemporary glass-walled suites ensures inimitable views of the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The lodge’s cutting-edge design is cleverly integrated into its African wilderness setting, where everything defers to nature and light-filled structures welcome the breathtaking surrounds inside. Surrounded by Singita’s 33,000-acre private concession in the Park, the lodge boasts communal areas that extend seamlessly into rocky outcrops dotted with giant euphorbia trees. Features include a roof terrace, multimedia room, library, interactive kitchen, espresso bar and an all-day ‘bar-deli’. The exclusive-use villa – comprising two 2-bedroom suites, each with their own private pool – is set apart from the lodge and includes a full staff complement, private boma, open-plan kitchen and airy living areas that spill onto inviting outdoor spaces with an expansive pool.

As other reviews have not, the lodge and rooms are exquisitely designed, works of art filled with works of art. Starting with a warm welcome from Dee, the staff were delightful to be around. I liked how there was not too much hanging around before activities, with an insulated cup used to take away a hot or cold drink on a drive. While I enjoyed the game drives, I was really looking forward to a guided walk, and happily was able to do one with Amy and Walter. I’ve done a lot of walks in the Kruger, and this was one of the most enjoyable ever. This is thanks to the terrain in the area of the lodge, with Granophyre hills and two rivers, the N’Wanetse and Sweni, that converge at the lodge. It means that a superb walking area is a short drive away and it follows well-trodden elephant trails below a scenic ridge studded with euphorbias. Even in October, the morning temperature was comfortable and as we moved slowly amidst the bird sounds, found lots of tracks and seed-pods and other small treasures to investigate along the way. It ends with fine viewpoint over the river, looking down on crocs and hippos and water birds. The guides skilfully anticipated the movement of elephants on the other side and got us into a position to safely view them browsing and drinking, unaware of us, and we also had a close encounter with a calm giraffe as we walked back along the river to the lodge. I really recommend doing this walk one morning while staying here.

So we had the best days at Singita Sweni! The staff were absolutely amazing and did everything to give us the best time. The food was exceptional, the gym so so good, the room was so beautiful and well taken care of. And what made our trip even better was our ranger and tracker Bernard and Mr T. They were absolutely amazing, so knowledgeable, so professional and so so friendly. They went out of their way to find everything we were looking for (we got the big five in a couple of days!!). We will forever carry you guys in our hearts. Thank you for giving us an amazing experience!

This was our second trip to Sweni and our 7th Africa Safari Lodge. We had the time of our lives! The rooms have been refreshed since our last stay and they are exquisite. Beautiful colors, layers of texture, floor to ceiling glass, natural light, and lots of space. The river view is magical. The staff was world-class and could not have been kinder and more enjoyable. Our guide, Otto, and tracker were outstanding. They really made the safari experience come to life. Thank you to GM Michael for your kindness. We saw soooo many animals! Lions, leopards, elephants, rhino, hippos, and even wild dogs. This was a family trip with our Mom (age 85). It was truly the trip of a lifetime and the best family time we’ve ever had. We are so appreciative of everyone at Singita Sweni for the care and compassion in what you do every day. You are truly a blessing and we will always be grateful for the incredible experience you provided our family.

For me this has provided an unbeatable Safari holiday. We have just returned from a family holiday with an 8 and an 11 year old. The whole experience is A+++. The drive from the airstrip to the lodge was an incredible start, seeing Lion, Giraffe, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo. The lodge itself is gorgeous, with beautiful rooms perched on the banks of the river Sweni, with resident crocs and hippos. I have never felt so relaxed as when hanging there, the food is superb, and the service is brilliant, everyone is so friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy what they do, and that really comes across. The main event however is the game drives, we were there 5 nights, and did 10 drives. They have a large private concession within a beautiful part of Kreuger, with lots of rivers, and varied landscape, and lots and lots of wildlife. We had many amazing sightings of Lions, Leopard, Rhino, and the area seems to have lots of Elephants and Giraffe, we saw a herd of 40 elephants one day. I particularly enjoyed the birdlife too. What made it even better was that we had the same guide and tracker on every trip, and I have never come across such an experienced/knowledgable and fun team. Bernard and Mr T, we will never forget you guys, just the best. Thanks Singita for the holiday of a lifetime.

Not quite the same standard as other Singita lodges. Food and service not very good/sometimes bad on occasions, which is not really ok given the price point. Game drives were great and decor really nice if you like a more modern lodge. Logistics were a bit sloppy too.
