A beacon of refinement in a storied European city, The Charles Hotel Munich is a taste of upscale luxury in Munich. Established in 2007 and built by architect Christian Sattler on the site of a former university library, this tasteful hotel is part of the new Lenbach Gardens. The walls within display a large collection of original paintings by the celebrated Franz von Lenbach, a 19th-century German artist, blended dynamically with modern elements and Art Deco-inspired shapes. Individual character and charm grace each of The Charles Hotel's 160 rooms and suites, many of which offer views of the city or surrounding gardens. Among the most spacious in the city, the guest abodes here are outfitted with top-of-the-line features like Bavarian limestone finishes, towering picture windows, French balconies, flat-screen televisions, and wireless internet access. A further welcome in the midst of a lively city, The Charles SPA offers an indoor pool, heated mosaic lounge chairs, a Finnish sauna and aromatherapy steam bath, and a fully equipped TechnoGym fitness center - not to mention the menu of invigorating and relaxing treatments. Start with a Surrender Massage and then try the Detox Body Ritual to refresh and renew like never before. This is your time, at The Charles Hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, very walkable to the marianplatz area. Close to the train station. The most comfortable room we’ve had in all of our stays across Europe. The welcome snack and drinks, the heated bathroom floors, an unmatched attention to details. The included breakfast with made to order eggs and expanded continental selections made this a nice bonus. We will be back and highly recommend this hotel!

Unfortunately, we only had one night to spend at the hotel. It was well located, beautiful, had wonderful rooms, and awesome customer service. I also appreciated the gym - it was 3 steps above the average gym in a hotel.

Great hotel - beautiful room with wonderful view of garden across the street. Very well located within easy walking distance of almost all attractions and less than a five minute walk from a Hop On - Hop Off bus terminal with 3 lines that took you all around the city. Hotel service was excellent, breakfast options were plentiful.

The hotel is beautiful and centrally located. The welcome was very good and the concierge service were very helpful, but the attention to detail was not what I would expect for this level of hotel. There was a long cigarette butt on the Juliet balcony upon checking in. Towels were not always replenished. The service in the bar was really slow and they kept getting things mixed up. When I asked for the final hotel bill, it was incorrect.
